Heya guys, I have been reading this thread for a while now and following the frost mage guide by Akraen. And thank you so much for making that up for us Frost Mages!

Well I am having some issues lately. Right now I am the mixed build and I do get the most dps of that build. For a while now I can easily get the 14242 haste soft cap and put the rest in mastery. (I do use AMR with the custom stats) But for the past few weeks and getting several heroic gear pieces. I have noticed a slight decline in the damage output. I have tried switching to the all haste build and that was a major dps loss too. So I went back to mix build. Not sure if I am missing something or not because I feel Iike I should be putting more out then I was a few weeks ago. Not sure if it is because I have mix gear and just need more heroic gear? Or which build would be better use the mix build or all haste build?

If you're still on 14242 haste and you've gained more stats then either RNG, your guild's tactic/composition or your gameplay are what influenced your DPS loss.

No. The damage lost from cancelling a FB is greater than missing a proc. Under high haste, it is difficult to make use of every proc as it is. Remember the Golden Rule: Always Be Casting.

I am not going to explain this just yet, because it's complicated and I don't want to add any type of bias to the results. But if you meet the following criteria, give these stat weights a try and report back to me:

 

1) Must have 567 or higher Purified Bindings of Immerseus
2) Must have a 567 or higher weapon equipped
3) Must be able to reach 18960 haste

Yep - it doesn't work for everyone. The goal isn't shatter cap, either, it's a ratio of H:M:C that's tough to make.

With both being the same item level, BBoY is better. With it you can hit the 18960 breakpoint for both NT and LB. If you are effective at snapshotting, this is the way to go, if not, it won't matter much.

i just moved my topic into a new topic so as to keep the cluter down over here i added another build on there as well with more Mastery and still kepping the currect amount of haste if youd like to take a look at it and yea im not amzaing with snapshooting but im learning and cant get better with out practicing

First i would just like to say this in an amazing guide and the effort that went into it is certainly appreciated.  The content pretty much does everything except play your toon for you. I do have one question that i hope you can address. According to your flow chart, and more specifically the trinket portion, are you saying that assuming i can reach the haste bp of 14242 without BBoY that even the Flex KTT would be better than the WF BBoY (Normal)??

Trinkets are complex, don't worry, they're so powerful that it's no issue to reiterate the importance of proper usage.

Yeah evidently i undervalued the importance of reading lol. What are your thoughts, if any, regarding an addon to help track the strength of your bomb?? i browsed the postings and saw that Affdots-Mage was mentioned but not discussed in much detail. I play the mixture build as of now at 574 iLvl. I know shapshotting is not as crucial for mixture build as in pure haste build but i figure why not try to squeeze out as much dmg as possible. Any experience with that addon or is something like weakauras a better fit in your opinion?
