Recommended Posts

OEnrprj.jpg

The Battle of Stromgarde Warfront takes place in Arathi Highlands and the entire zone has been revamped in Battle for Azeroth.

Check out our Warfronts guide for more details!

Zone Map

When your faction controls Arathi Highlands, you'll gain access to various World Quests that reward War Resources, Azerite, rare spawns and even a World Boss. Below is the updated map of Arathi Highlands as of the latest Beta Build.

Ar'gorok is the Horde base in Arathi and Stromgarde Keep belongs to the Alliance. Below are some screenshots of the updated zone. Whichever faction controls Arathi has access to an "Azerite Machine" World Boss that drops loot on par with Heroic Uldir difficulty (item level 370). The area can be entered via portals located in the Port of Zandalar (Horde) and Boralus (Alliance).

what's with all the trees? aren't they supposed to be the highlands? as in based on the scottish highlands?

hopefully, they do it like they did with Silithus and Blasted Lands and allow you to revert to the old version...

They probably will as the quests in the zone have been removed. This would remove the possibility of getting that sweet 10 point achievement for completing the zone storyline.

It was never based on the Scottish Highlands. There are more Highlands in the world than just the Scottish ones. Highlands are just mountainous or hilly sections of land.

that might be true, but my point still stands. The Arathi Highlands are clearly modeled after the Scottish Highlands, craggy, open, barely any trees... now they start filling it all up, and that kinda destroys the whole feel of that zone.

It's like that stupid grove in the middle of Desolace, or how Stonetalon is now a broken up mess.

You got Druids and Deathwing to blame for that.

No, you are assuming that Arathi Highlands is modeled after the Scottish Highlands for some reason. But they are not nor have they ever had any tie to the Scottish Highlands in lore, aesthetics or any other way.

Reddit user Mothka continues with the theme of animals in World of Warcraft, and this time, we have notable Battle for Azeroth quest givers transformed into various beasts. Can you guess who's who?

Now's the time to check your answers!
How many NPCs did you guess correctly?

Rextroy is back after a bit of a soloing absence, and he's gotten some gear ready in 8.3 - so naturally it was time to head into the current raid and solo a boss! Prophet Skitra is the second or third boss of the raid, depending on whether you pick her or Maut after Wrathion, and in this World First video we get a little extra explanation on how he did it by Rextroy (head to 5:36 in the video for that part).

You can also check out our in-depth interview with the man himself, as he goes over some of his more controversial tactics and discusses the difference between an exploit and creative use of game mechanics, as he had a bit of experience with the subject after being banned and unbanned for a solo kill he did (the 0.5 second Vectis kill).

There are some pretty cool discoveries he had to make about the boss mechanics to pull it off so it's definitely worth a watch:

Starting with next week's reset (March 31st/April 1st), all Legion instances will be getting legacy loot rules, aka more loot drops for when there's fewer players. This means you'll be getting random loot not specific to your class, but there will be plenty more of it for those transmog runs.

Check out the full explanation below:
      Legion Legacy Loot (source)
With scheduled weekly maintenance the week of March 31, we’re enabling Legacy loot rules in Legion raids and dungeons.
We’re reached that point in an expansion where the content from the previous expansion no longer requires a full group, and the rewards are primarily sought by transmog collectors. With this change, Legion raid and dungeon encounters will drop a fixed quantity of class-agnostic loot. Today, if you and one other player enter Emerald Nightmare on Mythic difficulty and kill Nythendra, it’s unlikely that you’ll receive any loot, since drop rates normally scale to the number of players. After this change, Nythendra will always drop 5 items from her loot table, regardless of your group size.
Dungeons and many of the lower-difficulty raid bosses in Legion are already soloable by well-equipped Battle for Azeroth characters, though some bosses, especially on Mythic difficulty, may still require you to bring a few friends. Nonetheless, this should amount to a great increase in the availability of Legion transmog gear.
      See you there!
