Demo stat priority

Hi I am new posting here on the forums but read them quiet frequently.

My two favorite specs are Demo and Aff, though I have not been Demo since 5.4 hit, some information I have been reading seems to suggest that the stat priority changed. I have looked on the general guild here and at Zagam's guide, those seem to show: Haste(breakpoint) > Mastery  then equal out haste and mastery afterword with no priority on crit.

I like to use Mr. Robot for my reforging, but will always double check the preset weights and sometimes use my own. In the case of Demonology the preset weights have crit as the greatest priority.

I am leaning to believe the Mastery/Haste build makes more sense then the crit build. Though I have been running a lot of different simulations on simcraft and the two priorities are coming out pretty close in my gear.

Why is there a conflict here? And what is the correct answer? Thanks for any help.

There is no correct answer.  It comes down to playstyle and preference.  Stat priorities will amount to 10% of your DPS while playing correctly will sum to 90% of your DPS.  Playing correctly should ALWAYS be a priority over anything else.  Once you know how to play, it'll make sense to reforge to fit your playstyle.

Typically, you want Haste to a point and more Mastery while not neglecting Crit in total, but Crit should be your lowest stat.  Simming your stat weights doesn't make as much sense as thinking about each encounter and how each stat would benefit you the most.  Typically, Mastery will benefit the most with all the AoE and cleaving while Haste will provide good DF generation.

Thanks for the info Zagam, I probably am getting a bit too caught up in all the stat stuff instead of just playing the spec and doing what makes sense.
