Recommended Posts

Thaumaturge Vashreen returns in Patch 8.1 and sells Relinquished Azerite Armor tokens as well as specific Azerite pieces for a new Mythic+ called Azerite Impurity.

Check out our Tides of Vengeance hub for the latest Patch 8.1 news!

Changes to Azerite Armor Acquision from Mythic+

Blizzard recently posted about changes coming to Azerite gear from Mythic+ dungeons. They didn't make Azerite gear drop from the end-of-run chests, but instead, added a vendor that sells caches that reward random dungeon Azerite Armor piece for a given slot separated by item level. You can also purchase specific dungeon Azerite Armor pieces, but these are long-term goals for top players, as they're quite expensive. According to Blizzard, it's going to take approximately two to three weeks to purchase an Azerite cache that lines up with the item level of the gear you're getting from Mythic+ runs.

You can find more details in the article linked below.

New Mythic+ Currency: Azerite Impurity

Blizzard added a new currency in Patch 8.1 called Azerite Impurity that can be obtained from the weekly Grand Challenger's Bounty (weekly chest) and by scrapping or disenchanting Azerite Armor that drops after Tides of Vengeance is released, so hoarding Azerite pieces you're earning now will not yield the new currency. Grand Challenger's Bounty will no longer contain Azerite Armor in Season 2. We currently don't have any information about the drop rate of the new currency.

Azerite Impurity - Unpowered remnants of Azerite armor, obtained from Mythic Keystone weekly chests and by scrapping or disenchanting Azerite armor.

Thaumaturge Vashreen

The vendor is back selling Relinquished tokens and specific Azerite Armor pieces in Patch 8.1. When the next Mythic+ Season starts, and item levels increase, Vashreen's wares will increase accordingly.

The NPC can be found near his Ethereal friends (Azerite Reforger & Master of Fate) in your faction's capital city (Boralus & Port of Zandalar).

According to the previous post about az gear. Blizzard mention u can get 385 random gear every 2 to 3 weeks.

Is gonna take 6 to 9 weeks for targeted az gear.

I wish i could be wrong. And correct me if i m wrong.

This feel like no RNG but no gear. Except u want to get full 3 targeted set for half a year. Consider u need to finish the cap level key (10/15) every week. Or it can take longer.

Blizzard said that they're multiple ways to get the currency via enchanting scrapping and your weekly chest. So if you want to get the currency you can Farm Mythic 0s and then scrap or disenchant and get all of the gear you want very quickly.

LeystTv is back with some more evolution tracking, this time focusing on everyone's favorite Demon Hunter and everyone's second favorite Orc! Well, probably not everyone's but still. We're taking a look at how Illidan and Saurfang's models evolved over the years and, as you can imagine, Mr. Stormrage has a few more to show off.

Number 7 is particularly interesting, as it was never used and added in Shadowlands. It seems likely it was related to a flashback, possibly connected to Malfurion's quests in the expansion, but we can't be sure. Hopefully everything is still going alright in the Seat of the Pantheon...
And then there's ex-Warlord Saurfang, the formerly greatest tier 1 Might shoulder spokesmodel ever:

There was also a joke in the twitter thread about the final Saurfang model missing, the Old Warrior's Soul.
It's always great to do these little trips down memory lane, while also finding some new models that may not have been so prevalent/noticeable, so thanks to LeystTv for this series!

Players have been gathering in masses to farm out all the (many) drops the Diablo crossover event goblins are dropping, and it seems there's one drop Blizzard didn't specifically mention in their event overview.
As spotted by DesMephisto and many others, it seems the treasure part of their name doesn't only refer to all the items and cosmetics they drop, but also gold! 500-1000 or so, in fact (update: it seems the numbers can go a LOT higher than that, with some reporting getting as much as 10,000 gold!)
The goblins spawn every 30 minutes, alternating between Orgrimmar and Stormwind on the full hour and every 30 minutes in Dragonflight zones. You can grab a Weakaura here to have a timer on when the next spawn is and where here, or check out a spreadsheet of all the upcoming times here.
Not exactly astronomical numbers, but considering how quickly they die, it might be worth the hassle. Players have been gathering in large numbers, trying to get everything from the mount, pet, bag and all the cosmetics (although the charms have lost some of their appeal since Blizzard disabled them in instanced content).
And while the low, low framerates when that many people gather up are problematic, others have found a different sort of fun, as faction warfare sometimes ensues!
Despite some players getting quickly bored with the event, it's still quite a lot of free loot to get, so it's not all bad. What do you think of it all? Too simple and boring or "thanks for the free stuff"?
If you're looking for their spawn times and locations, you can check out a Weakaura for that here.

Treasure Goblins during the "A Greedy Emissary" event are on a fixed rotation and avid achievement collector Xirev has created a handy spreadsheet with the exact spawn times.
