Patch 8.1 Content

  • Blizzard recently announced improvements to Azerite Armor acquisition from Mythic+. You can find more details here.
  • Heritage Armor will be added for non-Allied Races; Blood Elves & Dwarves are first on the list.
    • There's no reputation grind behind this. If you're at max level and Exalted with Ironforge/Blood Elves, you can start the quest and complete a scenario to get your Heritage Armor.
  • Reputation Paragon for BfA factions is coming.
  • Champions of Azeroth reputation will be made account-wide.
  • Incursions are a new feature similar to Legion assaults.
  • Darkshore Warfront (Night Elves vs Forsaken theme)
    • The outdoor zone will be updated just like Arathi Highlands with new quests, rares, etc.
  • War Campaign continues with the Alliance leading a direct strike at the Zandalari Fleet.
  • We can expect two new raids in 8.1:
    • Siege of Zuldazar is a nine-boss raid where the foe is the opposing faction.
      • Alliance players will join Jaina and her forces to fight their way up to the pyramid to confront Rastakhan.
      • Horde players will try to defend the pyramid, fighting Jaina in the High Seas as the final boss.
    • Crucible of Storms is a two-boss raid located under Shrine of the Storm that hints at Queen Azshara. It's Battle for Azeroth's "Trial of Valor" raid.
  • Allied Races: Kul Tirans and Zandalari Trolls will become available for gameplay after the Siege of Zuldazar raid. You can find more details about how to unlock them here.
  • Two New Islands: Jorundall (Vrykul-themed Island) & Havenswood (Gilnean-themed Island)
  • Gnomeregan Pet Battle Dungeon
  • Profession Changes
  • New Scenarios
    • Tyrande's Ascension - players will unlok new Night Elf Warrior customization options with dark eyes.
    • Cooking Scenario with Nomi
    • Unknown Tol Dagor Scenario
    • Heritage Armor Scenarios
  • Vol'jin's Story Continues - The Shadow Hunter is looking for answers in 8.1 as he tries to figure out why he appointed Sylvanas for Warchief.

Allied Races

You will be able to unlock Legion Allied Races faster in Patch 8.1.

Class Changes

Multiple Classes are subject to changes in Patch 8.1. These include Elemental Shamans, Shadow Priests, and Protection Warriors. So far, Blizzard outlined plans for Elemental Shamans. They haven't decided what to do with Protection Warriors just yet.

Nowhere. It was mentioned in a Q&A that they plan to change said Classes in an upcoming patch, because there wasn't enough time for "sweeping changes" before BfA launch. They just haven’t nailed down the specifics yet. We’ll update the hub as soon as we learn more.

Why would you say such hurtful things... Jaina is a nice lady and all she wants is to be loved... But seriously the likelihood of us "murdering" Jaina is pretty slim.

Sorry, where are the class change notes? Why no mention of Feral when Feral is getting major changes (new talent, several mechanic adjustments?).

Come on, icy-veins. Maintain the quality I know you are known for.

So looking at patch notes for 8.1,  "111-120 gems are no longer be socketed in prior expansion gear".  Meaning that insightful rubellite by lower level characters,  You could before 8.1 socket the gem into item level 100 (char level 80 gear).  So looks like that is gone.  Can some one confirm that when servers are back up.

Ogrimmmar has tried to express various WoW zones via emojis, and there's a pretty fun guessing game in there as well!
It's pretty fun trying to decipher the pictograms and where they belong exactly, with some being pretty obvious, and one even being a bit misleading/confusing (see if you can spot that one). You can check out the solutions below the image, and see how well you did (the last one is especially solid)!

      And here are the answers:
Number 8 was the problematic one, as the author combined Silithus and Uldum, but the rest are pretty much on point. Also, this obviously needs to be a thing for WoW terms in general, as it's pretty fun spotting the intended meaning, and we could use some tougher ones!

We've seen the rise of the new breed of specless players back in the pre-patch, but now they're coming to Shadowlands as well!
Jirasonis took things to the next level with a Priest and got to 60 without choosing a spec, but then also continued playing without one! A Black Temple timewalking raid completed, they're now gearing up to actually do Mythic+ and Shadowlands raids as well, without the aid of Holy, Discipline or Shadow! Being specless beings some other endgame issues, however, as you can't pick a Soulbind without a spec due to the way the quest works.

In case you weren't aware, the Shadowlands pre-patch made choosing a spec optional, as one isn't chosen automatically for you anymore, which saw players get to level 50 in this new way. This also isn't the first 60 specless, as willwarb, who was also the first 50 specless, has already done it, but we didn't quite catch that at the time.
Here's what Jirasonis had to say about the experience:

Blizzard talk about the specifics of the Valor caps and how they will be accelerating them due to the systems late addition, with a 5000 cap to start, increasing by 750 each week. You also won't be able to hoard it, as a character can only hold 1500 at a time.
      Valor (source)
As we’ve tested and iterated on the changes in patch 9.0.5, we’ve concluded that Valor for Mythic Keystone Dungeon gear would benefit from an immediate kickstart, so we’re adjusting the configuration of Valor caps. This currency is being added well into Shadowlands Season 1, so we want to pace it as though it’s been available for several weeks, giving players a large measure of gear catch-up capacity from the start.
In 9.0.5, there will be a weekly Valor cap that increases by 750 Valor each week, and the cap will start at 5000 Valor earnable in the first week. In the second week of 9.0.5, the Valor cap will be 5750. In week 3, the Valor cap will be 6500, etc. There will be a cap of 1500 on how much Valor a character can hold at a time. As always, thank you for your testing and feedback.

The Alliance Castle Nathria Mythic Hall of Fame is finally full, but it appears that a Chinese boosting guild has filled it with many Cutting Edge runs discovered by players through Warcraft Logs.
The Alliance has filled the Hall of Fame 29 days after the Horde, but according to reports, a Chinese guild named Q728 has sold more than 50 Hall of Fame / Cutting Edge pilots this tier. The alleged boosting occurs in each tier, but it is super obvious this time around.
Reddit user Drathos1337 provided us with two interesting Warcraft Logs links. The first one links to their rosters and contains hundreds of characters with oddly similar performance on the final bosses after not performing that well on early ones, which hints at pilots. The second link contains their calendar, where you can view the individual runs.
Many players are calling for a complete overhaul of the Hall of Fame system due to the boosts and Alliance taking a long time to fill it.

We've seen plenty of WoW recreations in other games, from Minecraft, the Sims and so on, but this is a pretty new one as a part of Stormwind has been made in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater!
While the details aren't exactly high, the architecture seems to be all there, but more importantly it looks to be a pretty solid skate park, with plenty of places to grind, wheelie and other skating terms I definitely know and didn't google like like ollie, boardslide and darkslide. The music isn't half bad either!
This particular map is only available on the PS4, however, but it's still damn cool to just look at.
