With the upcoming MDI All-Stars event at Blizzcon merely a few weeks away, it's the perfect time to brush up on your MDI knowledge and who will be competing at the event. Cirra, captain of the exceL's Angels team (winners of the 2018 MDI event earlier this year), is here to show you everything you need to know as a viewer, as well as which classes you are most likely to see at the event and why.

For those of you that don't know, exceL's Angels (formerly knows as Kjell's Angels) won the MDI finals 3-2 against Method NA. The team consists of:

  • Divinefield, who fills the Tank role;
  • Cirra, the captain and Healer for the group;
  • Ashine, Dorullkjell, and Herudra, who fill out the DPS roster for the team.

Some of you may also know Ashine as the writer of our Subtlety Rogue PvE guide, which he took on at the start of Battle for Azeroth.

The video, narrated by Cirra, goes over the UI that you can expect to see at the MDI, as well as what you should be looking for in each part. Ever wondered why the casters are calling the teams equal, but one of them clearly has the boss-HP advantage? Cirra's got the answer!

There is also a closer look at the strengths of the most likely classes to appear, why they would be featuring in the event and where their weaknesses are. Regardless of whether you are a veteran of the Mythic+ scene or just starting out, these pointers might end up helping the next time you're making a group in the dungeon finder!

Note: for those of you that might be wondering why the footage in the video is from Legion dungeons - it is because this will be the first MDI event where the Battle for Azeroth dungeons are being played.

The event will take place at 17:30 CET on 3rd November, with 3 matches in total, each working on a best of 3 system. The first match will feature exceL's Angels going up against Free Marsy, with their dungeons and affixes being as follows:

  • The Underrot - Fortified, Sanguine, Grievous, and Infested.
  • Atal'Dazar - Tyrannical, Teeming, Volcanic, and Infested.
  • Tol Dagor - Fortified, Bursting, Skittish, and Infested.

Following Match 1 is Method NA vs Method PogChamp, with their setup as follows:

  • Temple of Sethraliss - Fortified, Bolstering, Explosive, and Infested.
  • Freehold - Tyrannical, Bolstering, Skittish, and Infested.
  • Kings' Rest - Tyrannical, Bursting, Quaking, and Infested.

The winners of each match will face off in a final third match, which features these dungeons:

  • The MOTHERLODE!! - Tyrannical, Raging, Necrotic, and Infested.
  • Shrine of the Storm - Fortified, Sanguine, Grievous, and Infested.
  • Waycrest Manor - Tyrannical, Sanguine, Explosive, and Infested.

If you'd like to find out more about the event, the teams or how and when to watch, you can do so by checking out the Blizzard MDI All-Stars post.

      With a fair amount of game adaptations heading over to Netflix in TV show form, the most recent and significant being the Witcher, Str1der has taken it upon himself to make a trailer for what a World of Warcraft show might look like. With the Warcraft movie not having done so well and having somewhat deviated from the original lore (although, so has the game itself at this point), it would really be a nice thing to see all the ancillary content featured in novels and comics etc. brought together in TV show format.
      The trailer is pretty well put together, however the choice of the song "Human" is clearly Alliance-favoritism and wholly inappropriate, therefore we all need to boycott it!!11 (For those of you that are sensitive to the faction allegiances, well, first of all, what's wrong with you, and second, that was a joke.)
      My personal favorite is when Illidan shows up and the song goes "some people have real problems", which is perhaps one of the most accurate song to scene pairings in the history of trailers.
      So, what do you think of the trailer and the idea of a Netflix WoW show? Should it focus on present day Azeroth and follow the expansions to give us a better understanding of the characters we interact with, or would you prefer it to start from the very beginning and eventually catch up?

      World of Warcraft's third expansion was released on this day 8 years ago.
      Deathwing transformed Azeroth forever as we know it. In Cataclysm, the whole world burned under the shadow of his wings and the expansion went live on December 7, 2010.
      Patch 4.1: Rise of the Zandalari
      The first major content patch of the expansion was released on April 26, 2011 and brought the reopening of Zul'Aman and Zul'Gurub. While Amani War Bear was removed from the game, players can still obtain a recolor of the mount (Amani Battle Bear) to this day.
      Patch 4.2: Rage of the Firelands
      The second Cataclysm patch went live on June 28, 2011 and included Firelands, a new raid with Ragnaros as the final boss, a new daily quest hub (Molten Front) and Dungeon Journal. Interesting loot from the Firelands includes Smoldering Egg of Millagazor that has a small chance to drop from Heroic Ragnaros, Flametalon of Alysrazor which drops from Alysrazor and Fandral's Flamescythe from Staghelm that gives Druid cats a fiery appearance.
      Patch 4.3: Hour of Twilight
      The final major content patch went live on November 29, 2011. Three new 5-player dungeons were released (Hour of Twilight, End Time, Well of Eternity). In terms of system updates, Raid Finder, Void Storage and Transmogrification were added to the game. The final raid Dragon Soul featured Deathwing as the final boss. Interesting drops include Reins of the Blazing Drake, Life-Binder's Handmaiden off Deathwing and Experiment 12-B from Ultraxion.
