Recommended Posts

New Profession quests called Tools of the Trade are coming in Patch 8.1.5. They were first shown off at last year's BlizzCon and some of the items have been added to the game in the initial 8.1.5 build.

Tools of the Trade questlines provide players with powerful perks. While they haven't been enabled on PTR for playtesting yet, BlizzCon 2018 shed some light on the various items that players will be able to acquire in the upcoming content update. For example, Jewelcrafters will be able to remove an embedded gem from one of their socketed items and Blacksmiths will gain the ability to repair a piece of their equipment instantly, on a 1 hour cooldown, thanks to the Khaz'gorian Hammer.

The following Tools of the Trade items have been unveiled so far:

Alchemy

  • Silas' Sphere of Transmutation - "The sphere's surface swirls and shifts, showing different images for brief moments, never long enough to see what they actually are."
    • Use: Concentrate on the sphere to transmute it into another object for 1 hour.
    • Highlights and allows the player to interact with various cauldrons on Kul Tiras and Zandalar.

Blacksmithing

  • Khaz'gorian Hammer - "This hammer may be used in lieu of a normal blacksmith hammer for crafting."
    • Use: Allows the user to repair a piece of their equipment instantly. (1 Hr Cooldown)
    • When crafting blacksmithing armor or weapons, there's a chance it will be given the "Indestructible" property.

Enchanting

  • Iwen's Enchanting Rod - "Eldritch magic caused the rod to thrum with power. Can also serve as any lesser runed enchanting rod."
    • Use: Consume 1 Veiled Crystal to animate an inert golem. (10 Sec Cooldown)
    • Gain extra resources when disenchanting.

Engineering

  • Ub3r-Spanner
    • Use: Summons an Ub3r-Construct to assist the caster for 20 seconds. If no Ub3r-Construct is specified, a random one will appear. (15 Min Cooldown)
    • Enables the engineer to craft Ub3r-Constructs.

Inscription

  • Sanguine Feather Quill of Lana'thel - "It was never known if Lana'thel was the creator of the quill, or merely the inspiration behind its design."
    • Use: Siphons the blood of the dead around you, restoring your own health in the process.
    • Allows for the creation of Blood Contracts.

Jewelcrafting

  • Jewelhammer's Focus
    • Use: Using the focus, carefully extract an embedded gem from one of your socketed items.
    • Allows the holder to interact with shrines around Kul Tiras and Zandalar, focusing the light from the zone through the lens in order to create a geode of gems.

Leatherworking

  • Mallet of Thunderous Skins
    • Use: Summons a special mount which can only be ridden within Kul Tiras and Zandalar.
    • Allows the player to interact with special drums within Kul Tiras and Zandalar, granting them a buff for 1 hour.

Tailoring

  • Synchronous Thread - "A stitch in time saves the world from its demise."
    • Use: Allows Synchronous Tailors to mend tears in the fabric of time.
    • The threads of time sew cloth from past, present and future. Cloth displaced in time can be found more often in the world.

I'd be happier if they gave better crafting recipes for higher ilvl gear like they did with legendary crafted items instead of these "Tools". When season 2 hits, the 340 gear will be very obsolete and it will be hard to get any gold for any tradeskill.

I have no idea what this means.

Let's admit one can make more gold with WOD 132 ilvl crafted items.

the level restriction should be removed from the 310, to be able to wear at lvl 111. Simmilar to WoD.

So more stuff I'm locked away from having because I don't belong to a guild that can do mythics.  Tradeskills have completely sucked this expansion (and most expansions), and Mythic difficulty (and punishing people for not being in a guild that can run them) is one of the worst additions ever to the game.

Jester if you are Alliance, you are more than welcome to tag along with me as I tank mythic+9 and 10s in time each week. Don't need a guild to make friends and contacts for mythics/m+ runs!

There is nothing mythic mentioned in this post.

Wowhead comments for the Tailoring side of it are showing you can do Waycrest normal for the mats to create these.

Blizzard has adjusted the price of Imminence of Krag'wa's Executor to 450 Tender. Players who bought it will be refunded 50 Tender via a hotfix.
Blizzard accidentally set the price of the Imminence of Krag'wa's Executor set to 500. They've released a hotfix that sets the price to 450 Tender. Another hotfix is coming for those who already bought it.
      (Source)
We’ve had a trend of pricing Trading Post class sets at 450 Trader’s Tender, and for the first few days of December, a bug caused the Imminence of Krag’wa’s Executor set to sell for 500 Tender. We’ve now hotfixed the game to set that price at 450, as we originally intended.
If you’ve already purchased the set, please hang tight. We’re working on a second hotfix that will refund you the extra 50 Tender. You don’t have to take any steps. That refund will come as soon as we can implement it this month.
      We apologize for the mix-up.

This is your last chance to get the Azure Worldchiller! The mount is going away on December 7!
If you haven't obtained Azure Worldchiller yet, now's a good time to head to Tanaris and defeat Doombringer! The mount's going away on December 7.
Visit your faction's portal room and take the portal to Caverns of Time. Here, you will find Doomwalker, a giant world boss walking near the entrance to the Caverns of Time. Use the Group Finder to search for a group and defeat him! Azure Worldchiller is a 100% drop.

You can also buy Illidari Doomhawk, last year's mount from Historian Ma'di for 5,000 Timewarped Badges.

We weren't quite done with the Covenant ability-turned-class-talent upgrades in patch 10.2.5! A recent PTR build added 5 more classes to the list as the visuals got elevated, and Opaldiia showcased them as well! The Monk's Faeline Stomp is looking pretty great in particular and Spear of Bastion finally getting some humane and non-blinding visuals.
You can check out the previous updates here.
