Every year the druids of Moonglade hold a celebration of their city’s great triumph over an ancient evil. During the Lunar Festival, citizens of Azeroth have the opportunity to honor their elders by celebrating their sage wisdom, sharing in magnificent feasts…and of course, lighting fireworks.

The celebration has begun in Moonglade, and your Lunar Festival Invitation is waiting. Join in the fun by dressing up in your Lunar Festival finery, launching fireworks, and paying homage to the Elders throughout Azeroth.

When: January 28–February 11
Where: Moonglade, with camps in Ironforge, Stormwind, Darnassus, Thunder Bluff, Orgrimmar, and the Undercity*
Currency: Coin of Ancestry

Activities

The Lunar Festival is a time of celebration for the peoples of Azeroth. At the beginning of each year, elders of generations past manifest around the world to impart their wisdom upon all who listen. Should you encounter these venerable spirits in your travels and take the time to heed their words, they may even pass along tokens of their gratitude—Coins of Ancestry, the lessons of a past age in physical form. Gather enough Coins of Ancestry and the Cenarion Circle will open their stores of celebratory garb, fireworks, trinkets, and recipes!

The Cenarion Circle has good cause to celebrate, for the Lunar Festival marks the return of many Ancients that fell in battles past: Goldrinn, Malorne, Aviana, and Cenarius himself. But this celebration is darkened by the eternal torment of one of their own—Omen, a wolf Ancient blessed by the moon goddess Elune, has risen from the depths of Moonglade’s lake. Though Omen was once as noble and proud as any Ancient, he was driven mad by the Burning Legion’s tainted magics during the War of the Ancients. Omen’s immortality means that he is forever cursed to return in his maddened state at the advent of each new year—and this year, he has grown further in power.  Heroes level 20 and above must make haste to ease this tormented Ancient’s suffering, in the hopes that perhaps next year he will return with a clearer mind.

SEASONAL BOSS: OMEN RETURNS!

The great wolf Omen was once a hero of this world. An embodiment of strength and fortune, Omen fought beside the heroes of the War of the Ancients until he succumbed to demonic magics. Turning against his allies, he raged across Azeroth, leaving death and terror in his wake. Omen was finally defeated in Moonglade, and he now sleeps among the silt of Lake Elune'ara. But each year, at the beginning of the festival, he stirs...

MAIN QUEST LINE

The celebration begins with an introductory quest, The Lunar Festival. The Cenarion Circle has invited all denizens of Azeroth to take part in the celebration of the Lunar Festival. You can learn more about the event by meeting with the Lunar Festival Harbinger.

It wouldn’t be a celebration without fireworks. You’ll be asked to buy some Lunar Fireworks and Cluster Fireworks to launch and complete the quest Lunar Fireworks.

Once you’ve proven your pyrotechnic prowess, you’ll receive your Lunar Festival Invitation to travel to Moonglade and speak with Valadar Starsong in Nighthaven. With your invitation in hand, you’ll be able to travel quickly to Moonglade by standing within Greater Moonlight throughout the holiday.

It seems there's a much easier way to handle Devos, the final boss of the Spires of Ascension, as many players have been using this extremely powerful cheese/creative use of game mechanics/exploit to speed things up and make the encounter trivial.
As spotted by the WoW Highlights Youtube channel, the method actually kind of breaks the boss, as Devos does none of her mechanics after the cheese, and it's pretty easy to pull off too. While this seems like an extremely obvious exploit, it's interesting to know that something very similar happened back in King's Rest, where you could do the same thing to Mchimba the Embalmer, the second boss, and Blizzard actually allowed that, even in the MDI, as Ellesmere points out and explains this new Spires method:

You can see the results of the method here, as the boss just does nothing after the first spear throw interrupts her:

And here are two more examples, where we can actually see the method being done directly (in the first two examples):
This particular one seems like it will be getting fixed fast by Blizzard, however, as it is the final boss and the method basically removes the majority of the fight and makes it very trivial.

Here we are in Nathria week 12 where there's still a lot of movement, with Retribution and Arcane jumping unexpectedly, heading into the upper reaches of the rankings. Frost has gone back down after its surge, sticking to the middle of the pack in the higher percentiles, as Balance, Affliction and Fire remain at their top 3 spots.

95th percentile Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Arcane Mage by Dutchmagoz
      Retribution Paladin by Urthearso

And here's a look at Heroic this week as well, where things really don't change much week-to-week, but it's still a nice comparison to the higher performing Mythic players.

It appears Sylvanas got ahold of the Helm of Domination replica in the mail before Illusion4021, who received the helm shattered...
After damaged Charity Server Blades arrived to collectors last year, something similar seems to affect another collectible, namely, Helm of Domination, a special-event item available for almost $300.
Reddit user Illusion4021 today shared an image of the shattered helm they received in the mail on Reddit.

Apparently, they talked to Customer Service, but they cannot send a replacement given how limited the supplies are, so the only option is to send it back and receive a refund or keep the broken helm.
      Card
The shattered helm has quickly become a source of jokes because Sylvanas shattered it in the game before we enter the Shadowlands.

Would you send the helm back or glue it back together?

Blizzard just outlined the changes coming to Rogue's Serrated Bone Spike (Necrolord Covenant Ability) in Patch 9.0.5.
      (Source)
In patch 9.0.5, we’re reworking the Rogue Necrolord Covenant ability Serrated Bone Spike. We’re now testing this set of changes:
Rogue Serrated Bone Spike initial damage increased by 300%. Resolved an issue that prevented Serrated Bone Spike’s initial damage from dealing a critical strike. Serrated Bone Spike now grants 1 combo point plus 1 per active bone spike after it strikes the target. Serrated Bone Spike no longer refunds a charge and gets removed when the target is healed to full. Serrated Bone Spike is now removed when the target leaves combat. The design intention for this button is: impale your enemy with a bone spike from Maldraxxus, inflicting a permanent damage over time on them. We found that while the ability performed well in situations where multiple targets persisted for long times, it was unattractive elsewhere.
Greatly increasing the spell’s initial damage should improve its performance in the ‘other’ situations, including those where the enemy doesn’t live very long. However, we then feel we need to address a problem with the ability in PvP. Previously, if the afflicted target was healed to full, the damage over time effect would be removed and a charge of the spell refunded. The way this played out was the effect constantly being removed and charges constantly being refunded. As a result, the Rogue is compelled to constantly hit this button. With an increase to the initial damage component, this could be problematic. So we’re removing that mechanic, and we’re removing the bleed entirely whenever a player leaves combat.

This week's Patch 9.0.5 Build 37774 was marked as Release Candidate, but when will the patch hit live servers?
Something really important to keep in mind when determining the release date of Patch 9.0.5 is the maximum Renown cap that we will reach next week.
Shadowlands Release Week: Renown level 3; Week of December 1: Renown level 6; Week of December 8: Renown level 9; Week of December 15: Renown level 12; Week of December 22: Renown level 15; Week of December 29: Renown level 18; Week of January 5: Renown level 21; Week of January 12: Renown level 24; Week of January 19: Renown level 26; Week of January 26: Renown level 28; Week of February 2: Renown level 30; Week of February 9: Renown level 32; Week of February 16: Renown level 34; Week of February 23: Renown level 36; Week of March 2: Renown level 38; Week of March 9: Renown level 40. Although there are no new Renown levels in Patch 9.0.5, there are a few changes coming to the weekly Renown quests! If you reach Renown 40, the weekly quest to gather 1,000 Anima will give you 1,500 Gold instead of Renown.
On top of that, if your character recruits the maximum amount of Souls for their Covenant, your weekly quest to rescue Souls from the Maw will give you 500 Anima.
      (Source)
Once players reach 40 Renown with their Covenant, the weekly quest to gather 1000 Anima will now award you with 1500 gold. Once players have recruited the maximum amount of Souls for their Covenant, your weekly quest to rescue Souls from the Maw will now award you with 500 Anima. Both changes have been outlined in the preliminary 9.0.5 patch notes, which is why we think the patch will release one week after we hit maximum Renown, and that's March 16 for the US region and March 17 for the EU.
