Patch 8.2: Build 30613 - Conflict and Strife Changes

The latest 8.2 PTR build comes with changes to the recently-announced Conflict and Strife Essence.

Conflict and Strife is a new Essence added in Patch 8.2 which allows the use of one predetermined PvP talent in PvE. It was obvious that this one is going to be quite difficult to balance and here's the first pass of updates.

  • BloodUnholy Command Unholy Command -  Your Death Grip has two charges.
  • FrostChill Streak Chill Streak - Deals up to 6% of the target's total health in Frost damage and reduces their movement speed by 70% for 4 sec. Chill Streak bounces up to 9 times between closest targets within 6 yards.
  • UnholyNecrotic Strike Necrotic Strike - A vicious strike that deals [ 30% of Attack Power ] Plague damage, and converts 1 Festering Wounds into a Necrotic Wound, absorbing up to 7% of the target's maximum health in healing recieved.

  • ArcaneArcane Empowerment Arcane Empowerment changed to Temporal Shield Temporal ShieldEnvelops you in a temporal shield for until cancelled. 100% of all damage taken while shielded will be instantly restored when the shield ends.
  • FireFlamecannon Flamecannon changed to Temporal Shield Temporal ShieldEnvelops you in a temporal shield for until cancelled. 100% of all damage taken while shielded will be instantly restored when the shield ends.
  • FrostConcentrated Coolness Concentrated Coolness changed to Temporal Shield Temporal ShieldEnvelops you in a temporal shield for until cancelled. 100% of all damage taken while shielded will be instantly restored when the shield ends.

  • HavocDemonic Origins Demonic Origins - The cooldown of Metamorphosis is reduced by 2 min, but now lasts 15 sec.
  • VengeanceCleansed by Flame Cleansed by Flame - Immolation Aura dispels all magical effects on you when cast.

  • BrewmasterHot Trub Hot Trub - Purifying Brew deals 30% of your purified staggered damage to all enemies within 10 yards.
  • MistweaverWay of the Crane Way of the Crane - Increases your Physical damage by 25%, you remove and become immune to all snare and root effects and you heal up to 3 nearest allies for 150% of all damage done. Lasts 15 sec.
  • WindwalkerReverse Harm Reverse Harm - Heals a friendly target for 8% of their maximum health, and causes 100% of the amount healed to instantly be dealt to the nearest enemy as Nature damage within 5 yards.

  • EnhancementRide the Lightning Ride the Lightning changed to Thundercharge ThunderchargeYou call down bolts of lightning, charging you and your target's weapons. The cooldown recovery rate of all abilities is increased by 30% for 10 sec.
  • RestorationAncestral Gift Ancestral Gift - You become immune to Silence and Interrupt effects for 5 sec after using Spiritwalker's Grace.

  • FeralLeader of the Pack Leader of the Pack changed to Thorns ThornsSprout thorns for 12 sec on the friendly target. When victim to melee attacks, thorns deals up to 5% of the attackers total health in Nature damage. Attackers also have their movement speed reduced by 50% for 4 sec.
  • GuardianSharpened Claws Sharpened Claws - Maul increases the damage done by your Swipe and Thrash by 25% for 6 sec.
  • RestorationOvergrowth Overgrowth - Instantly applies Lifebloom, Rejuvenation, Wild Growth, and Regrowth's heal over time effect to the target.

  • HolyDivine Favor Divine Favor - Your next Holy Light or Flash of Light is increased by 100%, costs no mana and is unable to be interrupted.
  • ProtectionSteed of Glory Steed of Glory - Your Divine Steed lasts for an additional 2 sec. While active you become immune to movement impairing effects, and you knock back enemies that you move through.
  • RetributionUnbound Freedom Unbound Freedom - Blessing of Freedom also increases movement speed by 30%.

  • AfflictionEndless Affliction Endless Affliction - Your Unstable Affliction deals the same damage as normal, but its duration is increased by 6 sec.
  • DemonologyNether Ward Nether Ward - Surrounds the caster with a shield that lasts 3 sec, reflecting all harmful spells cast on you.
  • DestructionDemon Armor Demon Armor - Protects the caster, increasing maximum health by 10% and increases armor by 150%.

  • HolyRapid Mending Rapid Mending changed to Holy Ward Holy WardWards the friendly target against the next full loss of control effect.
  • ShadowVoid Origins Void Origins - Void Eruption is now instant cast.

  • ArmsSharpen Blade Sharpen Blade - When activated, your next Mortal Strike will deal 15% increased damage and reduce healing taken by 50% for 6 sec.
  • FuryBattle Trance Battle Trance - You go into a trance causing you to regenerate 3% of your health and generate 5 Rage every 3 sec for 18 sec after using Raging Blow twice in a row on a target. Using Raging Blow on a new target will cancel this effect.
  • ProtectionThunderstruck Thunderstruck - Thunder Clap roots all targets for 1 sec.

In 8.2 I plan to switch on and off WW monk and havoc DH , I knew that would be the trait for demon hunters and the monk trait isn’t that bad , both are increase in dps , but wouldn’t that one heart trait that provides a big bonus passive ( for demon hunters it’s to transform into meta for a few seconds) make this an incredible spec next patch cause it has the chance to keep you in meta about 60% of the boss fights because 2 minutes in pvp seems like 30 seconds , popping meta then eyebeaming adds to the duration right now so 4 minute CD , 30 seconds eyebeam turns to like 42 seconds .

Is the bear druid talent a typo? Incarnation is a standard talent, instead of a PvP one. I know bear needs the extra help but that doesn't sound quite right!

Yes, this is an error on my end, because I've mistakenly included the recent Vision of Perfection changes here even though this post covers Conflict and Strife. I've reverted the changes and both Guardian Druid / Brewmaster Monks remain unchanged. Thanks for the report.

      We have our 100 Mythic Crucible of Storms Horde champion guilds already! The Hall of Fame for the red faction is now closed with the guilds that managed to get in being set in stone, with a few more getting the Cutting Edge: Uu'nat, Harbinger of the Void achievement, as it remained available until the end of this last reset. So if you're looking for the achievement or the "Famed Slayer of the Harbinger" title, you'll have to try on the Alliance side of things, where there's 88 slots left! Once the remaining Alliance guilds down Mythic Uu'nat, cross-realm Mythic will be enabled, but at this rate it's going to be a bit tight to reach that 100 number, as the Hall of Fame will close when the next raid, Azshara's Eternal Palace, opens. Cross-realm Mythic will also be enabled at that time, even if there aren't 100 Alliance guilds done with Mythic Crucible at that point.

      We have some new info on the change to how grouped players with their XP off function in 8.2, a change which was implemented to curtail players leveling much faster with an XP off person (usually a Demon Hunter in Island Expeditions or Freehold) in the group.

      Blizzard clarified that this change is only aimed at pre-made groups, aka groups where players have been invited directly, not via the matchmaker.

      I don’t want my XP to be 5% because some random troll que’d up on twink char and joined our group.

      This won’t happen.
      The change only affects groups that manually invite player characters who have XP off. There is no impact on players who find themselves automatically grouped by the matchmaker while doing PvP or Group Finder dungeons.
      This change also doesn’t affect anyone who has turned off XP for their own benefit, such as plundering old raids while keeping their level low enough to use their Aggramar’s Stride boots.

      You must win a PvP Island Expedition, Normal and Epic Battleground to get the first rank of the Essence (Storming the Battlefield).
      Major Power: Suppressing Pulse - Unleash a heavy pulse of suppressive energy, reducing the movement speed of all enemies within 15 yds by 70% and reducing their attack speed by 25% for 8 sec. (60 sec cooldown) Minor Power: Sphere of Suppression - When an enemy melee attacks you, their movement speed is reduced by 30% and you gain ??? Haste for 5 sec.
