Battle of Dazar'alor Raid Achievements & Off-Season Details

Recommended Posts

With the launch of Patch 8.2, Season 2 is coming to an end in both PvP and Mythic. The launch date will be announced soon and there will be a two-week-off-season, where Mythic Keystone dungeons will still be playable using Season 2 affixes and rewards, but their seasonal achievements will no longer be attainable.

BfA Season 3 will begin two weeks after the content update. Earlier today, we speculated about Patch 8.2's release date and it seems both PvP and Mythic Season 3 along with the raid and Operation: Mechagon will open two weeks after the patch hits live servers.

It's important to note that you will still be able to earn Battle of Dazar'alor and Crucible Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge achievements will still be obtainable throughout the off-season.

The launch of Rise of Azshara will mark the end of Battle for Azeroth Season 2. On launch day (date to-be-announced soon), both PvP and Mythic Keystone competition will close, and a two-week off-season for those activities will begin.

During the off-season, Mythic Keystone dungeons will still be playable using Season 2 affixes and rewards, but their seasonal achievements will no longer be available. Additionally, it will still be possible to queue for Rated PvP and earn based on your Season 2 rating, but seasonal rewards and titles will no longer be earnable. The end-of-season rankings will close when Rise of Azshara goes live.

As always, we ask that competitive players refrain from transferring character(s) to another realm or faction until after BFA Season 3 has begun.

BFA Season 3 will begin two weeks after the content update, along with the opening of Azshara’s Eternal Palace, the new Operation: Mechagon dungeon, a new seasonal affix for Mythic Keystone dungeons, and the availability of higher item-level Azerite gear.

Additionally, Battle of Dazar’alor and Crucible of the Storm raid achievements such as Ahead of the Curve and Cutting Edge will be obtainable throughout the off-season. You can continue to earn both of them right up until Azshara’s Eternal Palace opens.

Now get out there and fight to the finish!

Method ran Ny'alotha on Heroic difficulty with a raid comprised of 29 Mages and one Demon Hunter, and while they downed all the bosses including N'Zoth, the clear highlight is Dresta'gath that has been defeated in just 22 seconds.
You can watch the Pyroblast shower and Dresta'gath's decreasing health bar in the following video:

DesMephisto is back (or, more accurately, he never left, as he constantly strives to improve his leveling speeds), and he's gotten his speed record for 1-50 Shadowlands leveling significantly down from his last attempt! 3 hours and 56 minutes (or 3 h 37 min, if you remove the "screwing around" parts) is all it took to get to the equivalent of today's level 120, using Chromie time in Warlords of Draenor, beating the previous best we reported by over an hour and a half.

Now, it's important to mention that Blizzard have stated in interviews that the current XP rates and leveling speeds on Alpha aren't final and are very rough at the moment, but it's till great to see players going for these speed records nonetheless.
And here's the last minute or so of the leveling process, and you can check out the whole thing below as well:

You can also check out our recent interview with the man himself, where he goes into all the many recent achievements he's had, from the 46 max level warriors, to the speed leveling, Autism charity, Guinness World Record and more.

3D Artist Dronmo has created a jungle in Unreal Engine 4 inspired by Stranglethorn Vale.
Here's a comparison of the Stranglethorn Vale in World of Warcraft and the recreated version of the zone in Unreal Engine 4 taken from ArtStation.

Here's another comparison of the zone.

The artist teamed up with his friend, a guitar virtuoso, who produced ambient relaxing music for the video.
