Class mechanics are so bad they are nearly unplayable. Azerite is the biggest bust in the history of the game and it's taking them over a year to fix it? The upcoming raid is, at best, mediocre garbage and according to a lot of the raiding community, pure horse manure.

But at least after a year of stomaching the utter mess that is BfA, we get to fly....a feature that was introduced into the game in Burning Crusade, TWELVE YEARS AGO!

Thanks, Blizzard. Thanks, Ion.

Your opinion is your opinion, but would like to point out a few things

1) Azerite was not a great system, especially coming off the back of artifact weapons. Blizz has said they recognize that and have worked to fix it. Software development takes time - especially given that this is a core mechanic of the game. Also, BFA launched 9 months ago and they introduced a tactical fix with 8.1 and a replacement in 8.2

2) Flying being introduced later in an expansion via an achievement or quests has been the norm for the past decade, every since MOP. Getting flying through pathfinder has been the mechanic in both WOD and Legion. Blizz has again said they keep it this way so that players can experience the world before just flying over it. Hate this school of thought if you want, but its not something new to get fired up about.

Blizzard was given mass feedback about the failure of Azerite all the way back when it was in beta. That is over a year ago, can you count boy or are you still trying to figure out your gender?  Also, the essences are not in-depth enough to have taken that long to get up and running. Imagine how much sooner we would have gotten it if they hadn't wasted time on Cos, which only very few people got to experience. Don't give me that tired old excuse that it was created by a single person; an entire raid does not make it in the game by a single person working on it.

Blizzard's excuse for not giving us flying: "Because we want people to experience the world that we spent so much time creating." So, in their own words their excuse for limiting a feature that we got 12 years ago is purely narcissistic and selfish in nature. Sure, that's a legit reason, pride and narcissism.

Go ahead and continue to fanboy support this mess. I for one will express my opinions and concerns, because I've played this game since vanilla and I am invested in it, and I would like to make Azeroth great again.

It is a rather spectacular meltdown session he's having.

In any case, this recruitment for flying is gonna be a cakewalk. Just need to spend time in the new zones and do some stuff, which folks should be doing anyway.

I'm kinda sad that flying is coming. I really like the visuals of the scenery in BFA. I know I will still level alts on ground mounts no matter what. I understand that travel time to some is a big deal, but not this guy.

you should look through his comment history - its amazing. Hes either a 13 year old or a very very angry adult. i love it - but also should have know better than to even reply to his first comment, thats on me.

Regardless - i am super pumped for 8.2

I can't wait for all the butthurt from the lazy people who haven't even started Pathfinder Part1 when we are all flying around. Happens every time. Big ruckus about how flying should come with max level, they should be able to buy it, etc, etc. These are also the same people who complain the loudest about lack of content.

some make it sound like its over,

over?

Nothing is over until we decide it is!
Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

hell no!

And it ain't over now.

'Cause when the goin' gets tough...

the tough get goin'!
Who's with me? Let's go! Come on!
Heeeeyyyy!
What the frack happened to the Delta I used to know?
Where's the spirit?
Where's the guts, huh?
This could be the greatest night of our lives...
but you're gonna let it be the worst.
"Oh, we're afraid to go with you, Bluto. We might get in trouble."
Well, just kiss my rear from now on!
Not me! I'm not gonna take this!
Wormer? He's a dead man!
Marmalard? Dead!
- Neidermeyer? - Dead.

Well for me it's the other way round ?  I'm really glad we finally get to fly because for me, time travelled is mostly time wasted as soon as you've seen everything twice or three times already. If I want to explore a zone, I will do just that, and then the journey is indeed the destination. But most of the time I want to get stuff done and for that kind of content longer travel time is a nuisance.

But I'm fine with having to put some work into the ability to fly and I think it's fair to not get flying from the get go. And it's true - you can either grind it out asap or just take a more casual route and you will get it eventually.

I think though, you will be really lonely on the ground once the achievements start rolling in ?

I think they should make separate achievement for zuldazar/Kultiras flying and the new zone in 8.2. we had 1 year to explore zuldazar on ground which is too long, however, we have couple of weeks to explore the new zone on foot which is not enough imo.

Imo, from a designer pov, the idea of azerite was good, but the execution was horrible. They could add more rings, and more slots on it, to make it more complicated and appealing. They should make it in a way that you get the satisfaction of being able to chose different paths of class specific talents.

I wish I could work @Blizzard one day! >.<

God. flying. Why is it so time gated? I'm not even talking about earning it, I'm talking about making it completely impossible until blizz gives the okay. Ya'know, I have zero issue with earning it, that is totally fine! Reps, exploration, quests, it's all good man, but don't literally deny me flying because of the "ooh the scenery!" crapola excuse they try to serve us like a plate of dog poo and telling us it's chocolate cake. YEAH, DUDE. I SAW IT. IT'S PRETTY. NOW LET ME FARM WITH EFFICIENCY FFS!

Oh, and before I forget the tired old "MUH WORL PEEVEPEE!!!1!" arguments out there... PVP is literally the click of a button now. Simply disable flying when you turn on warmode. Problem solved, end of argument.

I actually arrived late (some weeks before 7.2) to Legion and it wasn't that bad. Sure it slows down the questing and gathering, but since the Pathfinder requirements basically say that "hey, go discover the expansions content, thx" I was okay with it - it didn't bothered me much that all the other people were flying and I just had ground mount, because I still had a lot of things left to discover. Actually since BfA zones are a lot flatter then the Broken Isles were it shouldn't be such a decisive factor in gameplay. People should turn off PvP mode if they haven't got a flying mount by mid-July, but that's all - they play the game in their own pace.

It's probably going to take a min. of 2-3 weeks farming reputation in WoW to earn Pathfinder 2 if you play casually to 2-3+ hrs a day out of the week.  However I do like FFXIV approach to flying over WoW's where as you are given a specialized compass to locate Aether Currents of the zone you are in; collect them all and you can fly all over that map zone.  There are no Reputation grinds and it's there while you progress through the Main Quest Scenario of that zone.  Some Aether Currents can only be earned, of that zone, via small quests from the npc's you meet.

Can anyone help me figure out why I can't unlock Flying in Kul Tiras and Zandalar? I have the Pathfinder one achievement and I just finished all the requirements listed for Pathfinder two, but I can't fly. I've contacted Blizz support but they sent me to wowhead and icy-veins. I've taken off add-ons and tried logging in and out, refresh, yada yada, ect. I just don't want all that time wasted to get flight. So if anyone has any ideas or advice, I would greatly appreciate it.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
