wow Red Bull Announce Their Own Eternal Palace Race Event

As expected, after the split with Method, Red Bull have just announced their own streaming event, featuring Crucible of Storms No.1 guild Pieces and Limit who will be heading to the Red Bull Gaming Sphere for some live action.

The Red Bull event will also have other guild streams featured, including a few overlaps from Method's event as well, with Alpha, Ji Tian Hong and Aversion, as well as some additional ones in FatSharkYes, ScrubBusters, Honestly and Exorsus.

The event starts at 4PM (BST) on July 16th with Limit going into the fray on the first, US/OC-only day of the race, with Pieces joining in the next day at 8 AM when the EU servers come up.

Good for them, am glad Limit will be streaming, but really bad for the race. Letting redbull just take it over for some of the top guilds is kinda shite. Its going to put a whole new level of stress on some of these guilds and I just dont think putting it in the hands of a corp is the best bet. Blizz really needs to step in on this IMO

You have to keep in mind though that Method have the team and the money behind them to hold the event by themselves. And if anything, "outsourcing" the streaming and everything to a seperate team allows the players to focus more on the game. What I hope is that it gets the guilds more out there, make the RWF more popular, and hopefully they'll gain some good sponsors so they can stay independent.

Method doesn't have rights to RWF anymore than Redbull or any other organization. Just let em race and don't monetize it.

An interesting turn of events. I am surprised Blizzard still hasn't reacted to this, given that these are literally third parties doing power plays on their game. Their determination at not recognising the World First race throughout the years is astonishing, at least.
