wow Eternal Palace Day 10: Limit in Phase 4 and 3 Adds Down, GM Calls for No Nerfs

While the title is slightly misleading, it would have been a bit too long with the full context: Limit have managed to push into Phase 4 earlier today, and also very recently had a separate pull with 3 adds down!

While day 10 was mostly uneventful overall, we did get some action towards the end from Limit, with a whole lot of excitement when they managed to get to Phase 4 for the very first time, with some pretty important information gleaned as well, that they tried very hard to keep secret. Now in that try, the 3rd add was still alive, but they made it to the console at the very end in an exciting finish, with only a few seconds in P4. But why narrate the event when we have the whole thing in a VoD:

We also had two separate 3 adds dead pulls, with the second being more recent, but both featured 3 very dead adds, followed by some very dead raiders:

We had two more major news for the day, as one set of hotfixes went live and another was announced for later today. The first one didn't have that big of an impact:

Queen Azshara

• Cyranus should no longer throw his Charged Spear if he is defeated just before throwing it.
• Changed the magic school of Charged Spear from Arcane to Nature for all difficulties.
• Reduced the duration of Arcane Vulnerability to 5 seconds (was 7 seconds) on Mythic difficulty.

But the second one that will be coming around 4-5PM CEST today is a massive one:

July 26 Announced Hotfix (source)

We have a hotfix in testing that we intend to apply to change the Queen Azshara encounter tomorrow morning (PDT):

• Queen Azshara’s minions now Berserk after 3 minutes in Phase 3 of the encounter on Mythic difficulty (was 2 minutes).

We’ll confirm when the hotfix is ready and going live tomorrow morning.

Considering the thing that's wiping guilds is the 2 minute enrage timer, this one will change everything and will almost certainly see the top guilds progressing into Phase 4 and getting the boss down by quite a lot. Whether there's some more surprises waiting for us in Phase 4 (maybe even an additional Mythic-only phase?) remains to be seen, but it'll definitely be worth watching when those hotfixes arrive.

Limit's GM also commented on the upcoming nerf, saying he didn't think it was actually necessary:

And so we are on to day 11, which may turn out to be the most exciting day so far - whether there's a possibility of an actual kill isn't quite certain, but what is certain is that we'll be seeing more progress on the boss than we've seen since they first pulled her! Check out the action at:

It may not be what was wanted hotfix wise but as mentioned phase 4 could hold a different twist or unexpected surprise that the top guilds will have to rethink their priorities again with the fight.  Nothing is worse than reaching past a 50% marker on a boss to use beneficial CD's, due to force circumstances, just to find out that you should of saved them further for a different set of mechanics of a phase.
