Here come some more Classic hotfixes, as Blizzard have found at least part of the issue that was causing problems with hunters' Feign Death. It seems the spell cancelling for turning is more sensitive in Classic than it was in 1.12, so it's much easier for the Feign to cancel out. The hotfix will address this issue, but excessive turning both during and after the cast will still cause it to fail, but it will be less likely after the hotfix.
There are other issues also being investigated regarding combat engagement during Feign Death:
Feign Death (source)
Hey everybody, I wanted to take a minute to talk about Feign Death. Hunters are understandably very concerned about the behavior of such an iconic ability, with a variety of important uses, and I want to assure you that we’re aware of your reports and we’re investigating. This one isn’t easy at all. In our reference builds, many of the same behaviors that players are reporting do occur, but sometimes with slight differences in timing or consistency, which makes it really difficult to even identify a clear bug in the first place. However, despite this difficulty we have made some progress here.
The first issue is that Feign Death cancels when you move, including if you turn, and very often high-skill hunters are running from an opponent, turning to shoot behind them, and then Feign Death to drop a trap. It some of these cases, Feign Death is failing because the spell-cancel on turning is more sensitive in WoW Classic than it was in 1.12. We’ve tracked down why it’s more sensitive, and we’re testing a change now that relaxes the spell cancellation to make it less likely that you’ll inadvertently trigger this if you’re trying to stop turning to cast Feign Death. That said, if you continue turning after the cast, or keep turning during the cast, you can still cause Feign Death to be cancelled. This fix will go out soon as a hotfix.
There are other reports about it taking too long to drop combat, or having combat re-activated because your pet is getting attacked, and we’re still looking at those issues. We’re tracking a couple of leads there, but we haven’t got this bug in our sights yet, so it may take a bit more time to figure out what’s really going on here.
I’m sorry it’s not a silver bullet, but hopefully it gives you some peace of mind to know we’re listening, and still investigating the issues.
WoW Classic recently suffered some prolonged DDoS attacks and Blizzard have issued a statement today clarifying that they've found a suspect and he's been arrested. The attacks took down several servers over a number of hours on the weekend of September 7th.
Hello everyone. We wanted to return to this subject and put some closure on it. As always, It is our top priority to resolve any issues that prevent players from having a smooth gameplay experience.
Immediately after the Distributed Denial of Service attacks against our game service began, the Blizzard Security Team worked around the clock with local and international law enforcement agencies to track down the source of the DDoS. It is our understanding that, within a few days, authorities were able to successfully identify and arrest a suspect.
We really appreciate your patience and understanding.
Here's the original blue post on the weekend in question:
Today, Saturday, September 7, the World of Warcraft service has been negatively impacted by an ongoing distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack. For several hours today, we’ve repeatedly seen WoW realms targeted and taken offline by the attacker(s).
It is our top priority to resolve any issues that prevent players from being able to smoothly play World of Warcraft. However, it is the nature of DDoS attacks that players may experience the game becoming unavailable. If you are disconnected or have issues logging in, please be patient and wait a few minutes before trying again.
We will continue to work to address the situation.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
After the Stormwind tour from the other day, we're getting another official look at Classic Azeroth (Clazeroth? Classeroth? Azzic? Ok I'm gonna stop now). This time around Blizzard are giving us an overview of the many way of getting around the old world, pre-flight, as players might not be fully aware of all the options.
Getting Around (source)
There are various modes of mass transit available to those looking to get around Azeroth. While can gain access to a mount at level 40, collecting enough gold to train the skill and purchase a mount can be an endeavor. Even if you are one of those fortunate to purchase personal transportation, there are many times you’ll need to either board a ship, a zeppelin, take the Deeprun Tram, or hop on a flight path. In many cases, you may want to travel with your friends as you make your way to zones, dungeons, or even out into the world to take part in some PvP. We’ve pulled together some information on each of these to help you make the most of your time in WoW® Classic.
Located in the very heart of Alliance territory, the Deeprun Tram provides quick transportation between the capital cities of Stormwind and Ironforge—for free! To get to the tram, you’ll need to pass through the Dwarven District in Stormwind and Tinker Town in Ironforge.
Zeppelins provide free transportation for the Horde. These airships can travel greater distances, including across The Great Sea between the continents.
Available Zeppelin Routes:
Zeppelin Tower Location
There is one neutral boat that is available for both Horde and Alliance which travels between Booty Bay in the Eastern Kingdoms and Ratchet in Kalimdor. Keep in mind that neutral doesn’t equate to “safe” if you’re on a PvP realm.
There are two different boats serving the Alliance located in Darkshore. One of these travels to Rut’theran in Teldrassil and is your way out of the night elf starting area and into Kalimodor. The other boat goes to Menethil Harbor in the Eastern Kingdoms.
An additional Alliance boat in Menethil Harbor travels to Theramore Isle in Kalimdor. For those on a PvP realm, this boat might be your safest option to reach The Barrens.
Unlike boats, zeppelins, and the Deeprun Tram, you’ll need to pay for travel when you use a flight path. This can be potentially costly when you’re at lower levels and trying to pay for skills, buy new equipment, and more. You’ll also need to discover and learn the flight path which means the long run to each location and clicking on the flight master friendly to your faction.

We've put up a hub for our realm population reports so that you can quickly find updates about Classic population.
We've created this hub to house the latest realm population reports. Initially, the plan was to have these updates in the How to Pick a Realm and Create a Character in WoW Classic, but since we're posting the reports separately, we figured it would be better to just create a hub for them and add it to our Classic News Menu.

With Free Character Moves announced worldwide, it's time to explore the population of WoW Classic realms after one week.
It looks like the population of WoW Classic realms is decreasing, as players stop playing the game before hitting max level. Many servers saw a decrease in population in all regions. Free Character Moves have just been announced to help with the situation.
