Weekly Bonus Event: Warlords Timewalking

Recommended Posts

JfRT5Eh.jpg

It's time to revisit Warlords of Draenor this week as part of the bonus event. Completing the weekly quest rewards a cache which contains one piece of Normal difficulty gear from Azshara's Eternal Palace and the base item level of gear from Timewalking dungeons is 395.

Don't forget that you'll need a minimum item level of 380 to queue up for the 15th Anniversary Event in November which rewards the Deathwing mount and Timewalking is here to help you meet the minimum requirements.

Players level 101 and over will be able to adventure into six of Warlords of Draenor’s dungeons to reap new rewards all week during this Bonus Event.  Your character and items will be scaled down to a power level fitting for the challenge at hand, but bosses will yield loot appropriate for your natural level. Timewalking dungeons also have a chance to drop items that usually drop when you run them on Heroic, and you’ll earn reputation with a faction that is interested in the dungeon.

This Week

Look for the following all week long:

  • Chronicler Shoopa in Zuldazar and Chronicler Toopa in Boralus have a quest for you. You can also start the quest from within the Adventure Guide (Shift-“J”).
    • Quest Requirement: Complete 5 Timewalking dungeons.
    • Rewards: Artifact Power and one loot box containing a piece of gear from Normal difficulty The Eternal Palace.

Simply open the Group finder (default hotkey: “I”) and then select Dungeon Finder and Timewalking in the “Type” dropdown menu. Selecting “Find Group” will match you with other players and send you to one of the following Heroic Dungeons:

Auchindoun

Auchindoun is the holy mausoleum of the Draenei, a sanctum of the Light in which the spirits of the dead find respite. The crystalline structure also serves to protect and shield Draenei souls from their eternal enemies: the Burning Legion, who hunger eternally for Draenei spirits. This fact makes it a location of particular interest to Gul’dan and his Shadow Council, who seek to gain favor with their demonic masters.

The Bloodmaul Slag Mines

On the northern outskirts of Frostfire Ridge, the Bloodmaul ogres run a brutal mining operation amidst the sweltering heat of active volcanic caverns. Slaves from across Draenor are transported to the mines, never to leave alive. The Slag Mines produce abundant yields of gemstones and ore, but it is rumored that the true purpose of these mines is to dig for an ancient relic of immense power.

The Everbloom

After the disruption of the Dark Portal, the Kirin Tor realized that to fight the Iron Horde on their own soil, they would need a supply line to reinforcements. Thus, they created outposts across Draenor with magical links back to Azeroth. Unfortunately, what seemed like a prime strategic location near the Blackrock Foundry was known to botani as The Everbloom, a sacred place within the Gorgrond woodlands. The outpost was quickly overgrown, but it still contains a link to the outskirts of Stormwind….

Iron Docks

On the northern coast of Gorgrond, the Iron Docks represent the heart of the Iron Horde’s naval might. Huge warships and artillery forged and assembled within the Blackrock Foundry, are readied for war within this massive port. The greatest beasts of Draenor are broken and trained alongside elite infantry units, comprising the ground troops that will surge ashore to break the will of any who would dare oppose the Iron Horde.

Shadowmoon Burial Grounds

The traditional burial grounds of the Shadowmoon clan are the final resting place for countless generations of ancestors. The fallen chieftain Ner’zhul, in the depths of his depravity, has sacrificed the very soul of his clan in a desperate quest for power. Now the ancestral spirits are restless, tormented and used to fuel dark rituals that will pull all of Draenor into the void if allowed to run their course.

Skyreach

Atop the crowning pinnacle of the Spires of Arak, amidst the clouds, Skyreach stands as the seat of power of the Adherents of Rukhmar. The arakkoa have gathered and harnessed the Apexis technology of their forebears, and now they are ready to unleash the focused power of the sun upon their enemies.

To learn more about each dungeon’s bosses, tips, and view the available loot, check out the Adventure Guide (Shift-J), select the Dungeons tab then “Warlords of Draenor” in the drop-down menu.

Warlords of Draenor Timewalking Rewards

You’ll also be able to visit the Timewalking vendors Tempra in Stormshield and Kronnus in Warspear. They’ll be waiting to take your hard-earned Timewarped Badges in exchange for some tempting rewards:

  • 2 Mounts—Beastlord's Irontusk Beastlord's Irontusk and Beastlord's Warwolf Beastlord's Warwolf
  • 2 Toys—Apexis Focusing Shard Apexis Focusing Shard and Banner of the Burning Blade Banner of the Burning Blade

The Gallywix boosting community is pretty well known in WoW, featuring many players from top guilds engaging in gold boosts, but now it seems they've been dabbling in real money gold selling as well, and Blizzard isn't having it. As the actions are against the Terms of Service, Blizzard has started banning accounts related to the real money boosting activities. While the focus is on Gallywix, the investigation is still ongoing and might target other RMT boosting services as well. It is unclear whether the "ban" term used by Blizzard refers to permanent account closures, but that seem most likely.

After performing a thorough investigation, we’ve identified that the Gallywix boosting organization has been taking part in gold selling for real money. Real money trading – also known as RMT – is a serious violation of our End-User License Agreement and is not tolerated, therefore we’ve begun taking action and have banned accounts in North America and Europe that were associated with this group and taking part in the real money trading transactions.
These actions have primarily targeted the Gallywix organization so far, but our investigations are ongoing and additional accounts involved with running this organization may be banned in the future.
Going forward, accounts may receive actions if they are found to be involved in future transactions with Gallywix or are actively advertising it.
      Thank you for your understanding.

Ivan Kuzkin is back with another mix , with a bit more focus on the PvE side of WoW esports, with Mythic+ getting a prominent chunk, followed by the Arena action similar to what's we've already seen, but featuring a brand new first-person outlaw Rogue PoV. This is all built with IKedit's trademark amazingly fluid animations and crazy armor effects any warrior would kill for (and kill with, as it happens).

We're looking at how rain in Ardenweald looks like. Courtesy of Reddit user zugzug_workwork.

Yesterday, we previewed Great Vault, the new weekly chest of Shadowlands, but many players were confused about how the rewards from Mythic Dungeons will be calculated, so here's are some clarifications.
To unlock more loot choices in the Great Vault, you must complete the following objectives related to Mythic Dungeons:
Slot #1: Complete 1 Mythic Dungeon Slot #2: Complete 5 Mythic Dungeons Slot #3: Complete 15 Mythic Dungeons If you complete 15 Mythic Dungeons in a week, you will be able to choose from up to 3 items.
Your reward is based on the lowest level of your top 1 (Slot #1), 5 (Slot #2), and 15 (Slot #3) runs. Redditor zawyer90 posted an image and explained how the system works, so helping your friend with a Mythic +5 run will not affect your weekly item choices.

We have a bunch of retail and Classic hotfixes today, leaning heavily on the Classic side, with the Ectoplasmic Distiller fix and epic Draconic pages.
      July 31 (source)
      tems and Rewards
Corrupted Items Reverted the recent change made on the interaction between Fist of Justice and Ineffable Truth for Holy and Protection Paladins. WoW Classic
The Ectoplasmic Distiller quest item no longer generates threat. Developers’ note: Ordinarily we err on the side of authenticity when it comes to clever use of mechanics in Classic, even if we believe the original development team would have made a change given the same information we now have. The Ectoplasmic Distiller presents a rare exception mainly due to its severity: this new discovery of an unintended mechanic would completely trivialize most threat gameplay in raids for the remainder of Classic if left unchecked, including upcoming bosses in Ahn’Qiraj and Naxxramas. The pages for the quest “Draconic for Dummies” are now Epic quality. Developers’ note: We’re changing the item quality on "Draconic for Dummies" quest pages to Epic (purple) so that they'll be easier to distribute to the correct person in raids using Group Loot or Master Looter.
