Dire Maul Stacking Guard Buff Hotfix

Recommended Posts

It seems there was a short-lived bug in Dire Maul North that allowed the buff the guards gave after completing a tribute run to stack! A hotfix has been deployed around 30 minutes ago and that is no longer the case, so if you managed to snag some extra power you've had your fun and it's now fixed!

A hotfix was applied to all realms 30 minutes ago that squashed that bug. The buffs obtained from the guards in Dire Maul North after completing a tribute run will no longer stack.

Thank you for your feedback on it!

You can also check out our DM guides as well as an official preview for the dungeon here.

This was in the original vanilla too, Skarmtank showed how to stack it and the insane power it had in TBC and it got promptly fixed afterwards 🙂 fun stuff!

In an effort to remove the ability of addons to extend players' senses and detect enemies, the in-game combat log range has been decreased and now only displays information for units that are within 50 yards of the player.
The hotfix has been deployed to live realms earlier today together with the fix for Onyxia's buff which prevented buffs from stacking.
      Blizzard (Source)
Earlier today, we deployed a WoW Classic hotfix to all regions:
The in-game combat log radius has been fixed, and now only displays information for units that are within 50 yards of the player. This is closer to the original behavior of WoW 1.12, and should eliminate the ability for addons to extend players’ senses and detect enemy actions at a greater distance than intended.
This fix does not affect text logs that the game outputs for raid parses.

A hotfix went out for the previously-mentioned bug and Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer should no longer prevent buffs from stacking in WoW Classic.
The Onyxia buff prevented buffs from stacking in WoW Classic, and Blizzard released a hotfix for the problem as seen below.

Following up on this, we’ve issued a hotfix to resolve this and buff stacking should be back to normal.
I’d also like to remind everyone in this thread to read our Bug Report Forum Guidelines and remain on-topic when discussing potential bugs. Any posts or threads that are off-topic or disruptive to the goal of helping us identify and reproduce bugs will be removed.

A fix related to the Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer buff that went live yesterday prevents buffs from stacking in WoW Classic. The developers are currently working on deploying a hotfix to live servers.
      Blizzard (Source)
Through thorough testing, we have figured out that a new limitation has been placed on stackable buffs.
For example, while Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer is active, it is no longer possible to use Juju Might or Winterfall Firewater to gain their attack power bonuses. It is also not possible to use Elixir of the Mongoose or Elemental Sharpening Stones to receive extra critical strike bonuses.
      Hi Eggerwhat,
We are aware of this issue and it is definitely not intended. This bug was introduced as part of another fix we deployed yesterday for performance issues related to Rallying Cry of the Dragonslayer.
We are working on a hotfix to resolve this now and we hope to have it deployed very soon.
      Thank you for the reports!

Here's an update to the previously discovered Honor bug which has been plaguing WoW Classic servers since the launch of the new Honor System.
Apparently, there's no issue with data processing, but the game is not always using the latest version of the data. On top of that, Blizzard clarified that kills from your source realm won't transfer over to your destination realm, because it wouldn't be fair for you to bring kills from different realms into your week's standings.
      Blizzard (Source)
What about the people like myself that got a rank, but are missing 2K kills towards it. My total kills and last week kills should be the same and they are way off. Metals on Earthfury, if you want to look into it.
We believe this is caused by the same caching issue, and we’re continuing to investigate and make improvements so we can be certain. It’s confusing because the Honor pane is pulling the data from multiple sources, each of which is cached separately, so that leads to discrepancies in the display.
Everything we’ve seen so far indicates that the data is there, and is being processed correctly. The game just isn’t always using the latest version of the data, and we’re working on a fix so that you’ll always see the correct values after logging out and back in again.
If you can believe it, 15 years ago, when World of Warcraft first introduced the PvP Honor system, we had to leave the game offline for multiple hours while the weekly honor calculations completed. We’ve updated things so that’s not necessary anymore, but we need to iron out a few kinks to get this working properly.
I hope that clarifies things a bit for everybody.
I hope what you are saying is correct, I thought it might have to do with my server transfer? Seems my kills before the transfer were not brought into the rank but showing on my Lifetime. Maybe this can help you narrow it down, thank you for the response!
That does help, but unfortunately, Character Transfers will not transfer your kills from your source realm, because its not fair to the players on your destination realm for you to bring in kills from a different environment into that week’s standings. The kills are still recorded, they just don’t count on your destination server. This was true historically as well, and is not a bug.
The character transfer will bring over your current rank, and progress toward the next rank (the results of each weekly calculation), just not the kills that you’ve achieved so far during that week. The best time to start a transfer, if you’re concerned about PvP ranks is immediately after you get your new rank.
We’re continuing to work on improvements so you’ll see the new rank reflected in game as soon as possible after the weekly reset.

Blizzard revealed their plans to open Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch on all realms the week of December 10. Blackwing Lair and Darkmoon Faire will be available in early 2020.
WoW Classic just received the new Honor System and we already have a date for the upcoming Phase 3 which comes with two battlegrounds (Warsong Gulch & Alterac Valley) Elemental Invasions, Blackwing Lair and Darkmoon Faire.
Both battlegrounds will arrive December 10 and the raid along with Darkmoon Faire are scheduled for early 2020.
      Blizzard (Source)
Warsong Gulch and Alterac Valley will open in WoW Classic simultaneously on all realms the week of December 10. At the same time, Elemental Invasions will occur in Kalimdor, with Blazing, Thundering, Watery, and Whirling Invaders appearing in Un’goro Crater, Azshara, Winterspring, and Silithus respectively.
We’ve been following the deadly deeds of the Classic community closely over the last week as the Honor system sparked an impressive amount of World PvP on PvP realms, and we’re excited to see what might transpire over the next three weeks. Nonetheless, like many of you, we can’t wait to charge into some battlegrounds, so we’ve detached this content unlock from the plan we previously announced. Blackwing Lair and Darkmoon Faire are coming in early 2020.
We’ll have an exact timestamp for this content unlock to share with you in early December.
      See you there!
WoW Classic Phase 3 with Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch will go live the week of December 10.
