Pathfinder Removal for Old Expansions in Shadowlands (Speculation)

That is not what made Mechagon a success, one reason they added pathfinder so people would explore the zones that the artists and game developers busted their asses on to create for everyone. They add it after people have explored and have had time to know where things are in the zone, etc etc. They also added it as a timegate of sorts, it takes longer to get from point a to point b if you're on the ground, thus preventing you from finishing your emissary quests in 5 minutes. When more content gets released that is when pathfinder comes out, allowing for multiple things to be done quicker. You have to look at the whole picture, not just what benefits you.

Well, even on the ground, i didn't explore, since there is never any reason to and the moment i am say level 90, i go to WoD, once i hit level 100, i get bored of Draenor and move on to Legion, get to 110, then move on to BfA....i do not stay in zones that are old news, now if they used common sense and added a story arc that spanned the entirety of the reputation of said faction, i would complete them, story always keeps me interested, mind-numbingly boring and tedious grinding bores me to death and makes me feel like. 'why do i bother playing?' lol

I like pathfinder just fine when the content is new.  Make the people currently playing the expansion work for their flying mounts and savor the aesthetic.  However, for old zones for previous expansions, just let us have the flying mounts.  Those who work hard and get Pathfinder while the content is new can get rewarded by having flying mounts now, or you can just wait for the next expansion to fly in that zone.

TL;DR: Remove pathfinder for all xpacks through BfA, keep Pathfinder for Shadowlands until the next expansion and so on.

I think they should remove Pathfinder for all previous expansions and Shadowlands proper. In fact, that is the only way I'll purchase and play Shadowlands. I'm sick of Pathfinder.

I had a different experience: the removal of flying in Mists (and doubly so in WoD) hugely enhanced my experience of the zones. Instead of bunny-hopping from one place to another, never really experiencing the landscape inbetween, I travelled under arches, through caves, even just followed the twists of the roads. I love that!

Just to, uh, start off the old one-two this argument always produces. ?

And yes, removal of pathfinder for old zones is probably overdue already. Not fully sure if they'd remove it for BFA though, since that's going to be the 'new player experience' to some extent -- that probably comes down to when flying actually becomes available at all.

If it becomes available at 50, say -- which would be really interesting, sounds annoying but bear in mind they're reducing the time to get to 50 by 60-70% -- pathfinder wouldn't even be a problem at all. Just remove it flat out except for Shadowlands.

But that's the point.  Let's say 50% want flying and 50% don't.  If Blizzard caters to the 50% that don't want flying, then they *filtered* off the other 50%.  If Blizzard caters to the 50% that want flying, then EVERYONE is happy!  The full 100%.  The 50% that want flying get it and the other 50% DON'T HAVE TO GET/USE FLYING.  No one is forcing them to use flying.  If they want to stay on the ground and explore the old fashioned way, hey, go right ahead.  But why are they so dead set on screwing over the rest of us for no reason?  Let us fly, let you walk, everyone is happy.

Didn't even play BFA when I found out there was a Part 2 for just having to fly. Smart move on their end.

You still have to do Part 1, also.  Completion of Part 1 is a requirement of Part 2.

the other 50% DON'T HAVE TO GET/USE FLYING

Hello. This is a very old topic. I don't know if we're not supposed to necro here, but I suppose it doesn't really matter since it's not actually bumping.

Anyway. Ah. To rejoin the age-old-argument.

It's not that simple. While you can technically limit yourself, you're limiting yourself. Which feels bad. Which means you don't do it. If there was a single button which geared you up to Mythic quality, wouldn't saying 'nobody has to use it, you can gear up the old-fashioned way if you enjoy that' be ignoring the problems it created?

'You don't have to do this' is rarely a good solution in video games. You 'don't have to' play the underpowered class. You 'don't have to' grind until your eyes fall out. You 'don't have to' do your weekly chest. You're quite right that some players are forced into walking when they'd rather fly, but the players who would rather walk are also forced: 'don't have to' really only means 'but you will.'

Things have to feel good. This is why people feel strongly about this. For part of the expansion one side is forced to do something; for the other half, the other side has to rush to keep up. Neither feels good. For anybody, really.

It seems Bullion unintentionally stopped dropping this week! Blizzard have a fix on the way, however, plyers will have to wait until next week's reset to get the missing Bullion from this week.
      Bullion (Source)
We identified an issue that caused Antique Bronze Bullion to become discontinued early unintentionally. Bullions will begin dropping again with the next weekly reset, allowing players to get the one they would have missed (the 13th) as catch-up, alongside the regular 14th Bullion. After this reset, Bullion will continue to drop each week until the War Within launches.
      Thanks for the reports!

Discover how to unlock the Delver's Dirigible and explore the various customizations awaiting you in the War Within!
How to Unlock the Delver's Dirigible?

The unlock process is very straightforward. Once you hit max level and clear one Bountiful Delve in the game, you will complete the Bountiful Delves quest at Delver's Headquarters.

The subsequent quest from Brann will give you Delver's Dirigible, the base mount without any customization options.

Here is what the mount looks like in the journal.

      Delver's Dirigible Customization Options
Just like Dragonriding mounts, you can customize Delver's Dirigible to your liking at the rostrum in Dornogal. Customization options include color, nose, wings, thrusters, top, and decal.
You can buy customization schematics from the Murloc quartermaster at the Delver's Headquarters for Undercoins, a currency obtained at the end of delves.
You can also unlock them by completing the Season Journey for the Delves. In the screenshot, you can see a progress bar that fills up with each delve you complete, offering various rewards, much like Trader's Tender at the Trading Post.

Blizzard showcased some of the customization options at BlizzCon, but not all of them will be available in Season 1. They are likely saving some for later seasons.

We've also datamined a Void version of the mount which acts as a Full Transformation - Delver's Dirigible Schematic: Void and you can get it by completing the secret 13th delve alone as indicated by the Hunting the Hunter (Solo) achievement.

Various content creators have uploaded videos covering the customization in more details.
Placeholder for tweet 1782453977151357032 Are you looking forward to the new customizable mount? Let us know in the comments.

This is your last chance to earn some of the Season 4 rewards before they are permanently removed from the game next Tuesday! Check out our list of things to do before the War Within pre-patch hits to learn more!
      DISCLAIMER
Please note that some of the rewards listed below may still be available during the pre-patch. We're awaiting full confirmation from Blizzard.
What's Going Away with the War Within Pre-Patch?
Dragonflight Season 4 will end before maintenance in each region next, making many rewards unobtainable.
      Mythic+
When a season ends, the KSM mount becomes unobtainable. However, we're not yet sure what happens to the Infinite Armoredon. Based on KSM mounts from previous expansions, there's a good chance this mount will remain available until the expansion launches. In any case, you will need a Mythic+ rating of at least 2K to get it.
Additionally, dungeon teleports should be removed too, but we're not 100% here either. You can still get them by completing a specific dungeon on Keystone +10 or higher. The Draconic Hero: Dragonflight Season 4 title will be removed. PvP
Draconic Gladiator's Drake will become unobtainable.
Draconic Legend: Dragonflight Season 4 and the Draconic Legend title can no longer be earned. Draconic Gladiator: Dragonflight Season 4 and the Draconic Gladiator title is going away. Legend: Dragonflight Season 4 is going away, so you won't be able to get the Legend title and Draconic Legend's Pennant. Draconic Gladiator's Prestigious Cloak will be removed. Draconic Gladiator's Tabard is going away. The Season 4 Weapon Illusion will be removed from the game. Season 4 PvP Elite Weapon and Armor Sets are going away. You can buy them with Mark of Honor from Glamora in  Valdrakken. You can buy Orboreal Distinguishment for 2,000 Honor from Seltherex which contains 5 marks. Our friends at MMO-Champion have a nice write-up here on how to get them all ahead of the pre-patch.
      Raids
The Ahead of the Curve: Fyrakk the Blazing mount Renewed Proto-Drake: Embodiment of Shadowflame has continued to drop throughout Season 4, but it will be removed when Season 4 ends, so you should kill Fyrakk on Heroic difficulty as soon as possible to loot the quest item and get it.
The Cutting Edge: Fyrakk the Blazing achievement is going away too. ???
I'm not really sure what will happen to Jigglesworth, Sr., the Slime Cat mount, which you can currently buy for 3 bullions, once the pre-patch arrives. It depends on whether Blizzard will keep or remove the bullion system after Season 4 ends, but we think it might still be available during the pre-patch.
