Tyrande in Visions of N'Zoth

Recommended Posts

40339-patch-81-tyrandes-ascension-allian

While we haven't heard much of Tyrande recently, she's back in Patch 8.3 filled with rage after the events of the Fourth War unfold. Slight spoilers ahead.

From the sound files it is clear that Tyrande Whisperwind seeks revenge after the recent events of the War Campaign. She does not like the fact that Anduin wants to sign a peace treaty with the Horde. As a result, Tyrande wants to leave Stormwind for Nordrassil with here people.

Check out our Patch 8.3 Hub for the latest news!

Here's a transcription of Tyrande's sound files:

Quote
  1. No! Not while the Black Moon still cries out for vengeance, not until the Horde has answered for its treachery.
  2. And when the next Warchief musters an army? Will hope save you if it is Stormwind that burns?
  3. Your faith is naive, lion son! I will sign no treaty unless it is written in the Banshee's blood.
  4. The young king is foolish to trust our enemies. Harsh words should be the least of his fears.
  5. If the wolf is rabbid, it matters not who rides it. Sooner or later the beast will bear its fangs.
  6. Know this. My hunger for vengeance will not be sated so long as Sylvanas Windrunner remains free and until I know why Elune abandoned her children.
  7. I will tarry no longer in this city of men. Let us leave for the boughs of Nordrassil.
  8. From there, we will dispatch the sentinels to every corner of Azeroth. Let no one rest until the Banshee is found!

Funny how they went from "We want the horde to have Kalimdor and the Alliance to have Eastern Kingdoms" (IGNORE THE DRANEII AND BLOOD ELVES!   THEY AREN'T PART OF THIS STORYLINE)

Now status quo, again.   Only we've got the Nelfs even closer to Orgrimmar for more fun forced and stilted faction drama ?

Cenarius as well, I doubt he would be okay with them burning Teldrassil and cutting tress in Darkshore, which is not that far from Hyjal. Even Hyjal itself has been ignored. Nordrassil is probably even more important to night elves, yet Sylvanas somehow ignored it (at least that part makes somewhat sense, less enemies to deal with, still far from conquering Kalimdor). Hopefully they will do something interesting with Tyrande, and it won't be forgotten or just being put on hold.

She's being put on the "Shelf" just like the Draneii and their space-tech were for this expansion where they tried to give us amnesia about magic and technology while we watched wooden catapults and siege engines take the forefront again.    Where the Night Elf tree is somehow an important and dangerous port for getting at Azerite but the even closer, more high tech Draeneii one isn't, but they can at least eat popcorn as they watch Teldrassil burn about 2 miles away without lifting a finger.

Sigh.

Would totally approve. Jaina's BFA storyline was cold as ice - possibly the best character-related questline in the history of WoW. Though I fear that's not going to be the case, as Tyrande has Malfurion who will likely make things a bit more dull (as a druid I feel totally ashamed of how boring Malfurion is). I wish she'd have chosen Illidan back then - would be the best pair.

No one tell her Windrunner left Azeroth - she'll be looking for the next few expansions! Tee-hee!

But for real, if we follow logic based on their own stories they've laid out, Greymane and Tyrande should be pulling their factions out of the Alliance. Being a daughter faction called The Wild or some-such, still tied to Alliance loosely for battleground purposes, but separate in goals, would make sense. Probably same could be said for the Forsaken.

I mean, Warcraft 3 had four factions, it's not unreasonable - they difficulty would be just tying it together in a way so they can still be logically in battlegrounds.

Tyrande is supposed to appear in Ardenweald, unless they are going to change it.

I don't think Greymane has any reason to quit now, he supports Anduin, just sceptical whether peace can last. Even Shandris shares similar opinion, so that leaves mostly Tyrande and likely a part of night elf population who don't support the armistice. Battlegrounds can be treated as usual, as skirmishes between some smaller subfactions and/or some extremists. Besides, in story most of those battles have ended, we're just able to replay them for gameplay reasons like dungeons and raids, which had happened during specific time of that expansion. Although, I think war mode could be justified as supporting those refusing to lay down the arms. Too bad they said faction crossplay isn't going to happen (heroes working together, shared guilds, but faction specific content stays as it is), there is  "mercenary mode" for battlegrounds, so why not expand on that?

Great points. I just felt Greymane's past makes his goals a bit cloudier.

His loyalty for Anduin is believable - it's an extension for his love and loyalty for Varian. But what weighs heavier on Greymane: love or vengeance? He lost his own son and we've seen plenty of occasions where he was alone last expansion (brawling with Nathanos on ships, stalking Sylvanas in Stormhein, etc). Night Elves and Worgen have an interesting kinship through druidism as well.

Maybe he's managed his pain, however.

I admit it is probably more trouble than it's worth to create sub-factions, but I really like the idea as it can better hone in players to cultures/philosophies (orc/troll/tauren, human/dwarf/gnome).

Some race-related content is a good idea, with some of them grouped together, serving as "sub-factions". Doesn't have to be an actual faction, just something along the lines of Legion class order would have been enough.

I guess Greymane isn't as focused on revenge as before, but when Horde strikes again, he's not going to hesitate. Hopefully they aren't going to rehash MoP-like storyline again.

We have the return of flightstones and crests to dungeons, as well as crest-related achievement fixes, and the reduction of required dreamseeds for the weekly quest arrive to retail in today's hotfixes, with a few improvements for SoD and Cata Classic as well!
      May 8 (Source)
      Items
Fixed an issue that prevented Heroic, Mythic, and Mythic+ dungeons from dropping Flightstones and Awakened Crests correctly. Fixed a bug impacting players’ ability to properly earn “The Awakened Drake”, “The Awakened Wyrm”, and “The Awakened Aspects”, which allow for Awakened Crests to be traded up with Vaskarn in Valdrakken. Quests
“Blooming Dreamseeds” now require 3 planted seeds instead of 5 as the text originally states.
        Season of Discovery
Fixed an issue with Efflorescence generating frequent immune messages on totems.
        Cataclysm Classic
Professor Thaddeus Paleo has returned to Stormwind and Orgrimmar to continue collecting Darkmoon decks and he will continue to do so until the opening of Darkmoon Faire Island.

Blizzard is rolling back the changes made to the Destruction Warlock's Inferno in Patch 10.2.7 due to unintended scaling reductions.
Inferno will be redesigned in the War Within expansion to address how Destruction scales in power in relation to target count.
      (Source)
      Hello, Destruction Warlocks.
With the release of 10.2.7 yesterday, the scaling of Inferno became heavily reduced when Rain of Fire affects more than 5 targets. We investigated this, and found it was a change that was originally implemented with Shadowlands Season 4, and later became unintentionally broken with the launch of Dragonflight and went unnoticed.
With the release of 10.2.7, the reduced scaling was inadvertently fixed when unrelated changes were made.
Considering the timing of this, we’re going to remove the reduced scaling. In The War Within, we plan to redesign Inferno to address how Destruction scales in power in relation to target count.
Thank you for the reports regarding this issue and we hope to have the fix implemented soon.

With the release of Dark Heart, Blizzard has not only reverted Taivan to his former size, but also added new animations for the goodest boy!
We've got some great news for Taivan owners. Blizzard not only brought his size up, but also added unique animations for the mount. Previously, Taivan was using wolf mount animations. Now his running animation and /mountspecial is different from what we've seen before the update!

Many players took to Reddit to share the new size of the goodest boy!

Here we are looking at week 2 of Season 4, just before the patch 10.2.7 tuning! While the raids change every week and the rankings drastically shift with them, the dungeons remain the same and we get a lot more stability, so let's take a look.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 4 remain the same, but we do see Frost Mage on the rise right after that, taking down Outlaw for 5th. Retribution is much improved this week, gaining 5 spots in 7th, with Devastation joining the Paladin on its upward trip, with a very stable Elemental sandwiched between them. Arms closes out the top 10 one spot down.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
The generalist bracket is less stable, as we see a change at No.4 already, with Destruction moving 2 up and pushing Outlaw down. Retribution is on a wild ride here as well, 4 up in 6th, while Frost is slowly making its way upward right behind the Paladin. Arms is actually moving up here unlike in the top percentiles, one up in 8th, just in front of a falling Subtlety and a rising Devastation.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Destruction remains in power in the raw DPS charts, while its fellow Warlock drops down quite a bit as Shadow claims the silver. Elemental rises 2 spots into 3rd just ahead of the unstoppable Retribution, which finds itself 7 up! The rest is mostly the same, just making room for the newcomers, with Unholy closing out the top 10 three spots up.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs and u.gg. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides, as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.
