We have some more additions to the ever growing list of class changes coming in 8.3, and today Mistweaver Monks, Holy Paladins and especially Discipline Priests get some tweaks. You can also check out the full list of upcoming class changes below.

We also got news on the Mythic+ Season 4 item level increase, as well as some potential 8.3 pet battle tweaks. You can always check out all the info on 8.3: Visions of N'zoth in our content hub as well.

I’ve added the following to the OP:

In the case of Rising Mist Rising Mist, we’re now testing a 33% healing increase, and we were previously testing a 66% healing increase.

With Shadow Word: Pain Shadow Word: Pain , we were already testing this change for Shadow only, and we’ve now added the change to Discipline.

In our next major content update, Visions of N’Zoth, we’re working on some tuning updates to a few specs that are under- and over-performing in various ways.

Developers’ notes: Specs which excel at DoTs on multiple targets have, over the course of many tiers of content, generally had very high performance on the average. Their DPS advantage in raid encounters that play into their multi-target strength (which are relatively common) is not balanced by a comparable disadvantage in other areas. A small reduction in damage on these specs will leave them noticeably strong in the situations in which they’re strong (albeit slightly less than before), and give other specs more opportunity to stand out at other times. At the same time, a few of the Essences added in Rise of Azshara are not performing as well as we would have liked, so we’re increasing the effectiveness of some parts of them to help keep them competitive with the other Essences available.

With the first build of the update on our Public Test Realm (PTR), you will see the following changes:

    Classes

    • Druid
    • Mage
      • Frost
        • Ice Lance Ice Lance damage increased by 20%.
          • Developers’ note: Ice Lance Ice Lance damage hasn’t kept up with Icicles scaling, making builds that ignore Ice Lance Ice Lance possible. The intent of this change is to give Frost Mages a better incentive to use Ice Lance within their rotation, as a DPS net gain.
    • Monk
      • Brewmaster
        • Stamina bonus reduced to 30% (was 35%).
        • Stagger percentage reduced to 90% of Agility (was 105%).
        • High Tolerance High Tolerance now increases the effectiveness of Stagger by 5% (was 8%).
          • Developers’ notes: Brewmaster’s extremely high effective health against Physical damage meant that they are rarely in danger against spike damage that threatens other tanks. This should still be a strength of Brewmaster, but not by such a wide margin.
        • Fixed a bug causing Gift of the Ox Gift of the Ox orbs to spawn too often for players with high amounts of Stamina.
      • Mistweaver
        • Rising Mist Rising Mist healing increased 30% 66% 33%, and now extends Heal-over-time effects by 3 4 seconds (was 2 seconds).
          • Developers’ note: This talent is currently overshadowed on its row, and we want to make sure it’s competitive enough to make its unique playstyle a viable option.
        • Life Cocoon Life Cocoon now absorbs for 55% of the caster’s maximum health (was 1100% of the caster’s spellpower). [Coming in a future PTR build]
          • Developers’ note: This ability had gotten weaker compared to player health pools since the start of the expansion, and this will help it better maintain its value.
      • Windwalker
        • Rising Sun Kick Rising Sun Kick damage increased by 25%.
        • Blackout Kick Blackout Kick damage increased by 10%.
          • Developers’ note: These changes are intended to help Windwalkers perform better in single-target fights.
    • Paladin
      • Holy
        • Glimmer of Light Glimmer of Light (Azerite Trait) healing reduced 12%
        • Glimmer of Light Glimmer of Light (Azerite Trait) may now be applied to a maximum of 8 targets.
          • Developers’ notes: Over the past year, builds centered around this trait have steadily pulled ahead of all other Holy Paladin playstyles, and to some extent all other healers in high-end content. This change is meant to preserve the gameplay of the trait, but limit the ability to increase its value drastically by stacking every possible bonus that reduces Holy Shock cooldown
    • Priest
      • Discipline
        • Purge the Wicked Purge the Wicked damage reduced 10%.
        • Power Word: Solace Power Word: Solace damage reduced 10%.
        • Shadow Word: Pain Shadow Word: Pain damage reduced 9%.
        • Atonement Atonement healing reduced to 50% (was 55%).
        • Mastery: Grace Mastery: Grace effectiveness increased by 12%.
          • Developers’ notes: Discipline’s ability to contribute both damage and healing is slightly too high for what one character can bring to a group composition. At the same time, we’re making their Mastery stat slightly more attractive.
        • Schism Schism now increases damage done from Priest spells and abilities only.
          • Developers’ notes: This is intended to be consistent with other class cooldowns.
      • Shadow
    • Warlock
      • Affliction
        • Deathbolt Deathbolt now deals 20% of the total remaining damage of the Warlock’s damage over time effects on the target (was 30%).
        • Drain Soul Drain Soul damage increased by 50%.
        • Nightfall Nightfall now increases the damage of Shadow Bolt by 50% (was 25%), and now activates 33% more often.
          • Developers’ notes: One of the key concepts about Affliction Warlock is spreading damage over time spells on a number of different targets. While Deathbolt Deathbolt keys off these types of spells, it provides more-than-expected burst damage and outperforms the other two talents in every situation. In addition to reducing Deathbolt Deathbolt’s effectiveness, we’re improving the other two options to give more options to Affliction Warlocks.

    Essences

    • Worldvein Resonance Worldvein Resonance
      • Major rank 1, when used, now additionally causes you to gain +50% bonus to stats from Lifeblood Shards for 10 seconds.
    • Vision of Perfection Vision of Perfection
      • Proc rate increased by 12%.
    • The Unbound Force The Unbound Force
      • Major rank 1 damage increased by 40%.
      • Minor rank 1 duration increased to 4 seconds (was 3 seconds).
      • Minor rank 3 increase of duration increased to 2 seconds (was 1 second).
    • Purification Protocol Purification Protocol
      • Major rank 1 damage increased by 15%.
      • Major rank 2 now has the potential work on targets that are part of raid and dungeon encounters.
    • Vitality Conduit Vitality Conduit
      • We’ve rebuilt the way this Essences works, and it should be visually more impactful, as you will now see healing on your targets.

As always, changes like these are a work in progress. We are likely to make further adjustments for testing throughout the PTR.

Thank you very much for your testing and feedback!

    • Thanks 1

The remasters and upscales keep on coming, as we have the Burning Crusade's intro cinematic in up to 8K resolution now!
While BC is my favorite expansion ever, I was never a fan of the cinematic, as it's just a collection of various clips that don't have much of anything to do with Illidan's narration, until the very end. Obviously the two new races deserved screen time, but we didn't even get to see the Dranei's ship(s) in there, and then it's straight on to random battle clips. It obviously takes its cue from the Vanilla cinematic, as far as the clips go, but where it worked for Vanilla, which was simply setting the stage for the world itself, it falls a little flat here. But at least it does end on a high note, with the green horned one making a proper appearance.

We have more Ivan Kuzkin goodness for you today, as he's put together a highlight reel of his 2019 Arena cinematic footage!
We'll also be taking a look at his previous PvP videos, including a really old one from 4 years ago which is particularly impressive (and longer). Here's "The Rhythm of Chaos":
And here's two earlier video trailers for the 2019 spring and fall seasons:

Impressive stuff as always. Which cinematic would you wish IKedit would remaster next? Or should he go back to his earlier class series or other original machinimas?

Even though the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur is going away in Shadowlands, Blizzard has no intent to remove the Auction House vendor from this mount and they removed the Mystic Birdhat's Reforging from the Grand Expedition Yak only because Reforging was removed from the game.
Mighty Caravan Brutosaur will be limited to the Black Market Auction House in Shadowlands and Blizzard today dispelled rumors about the removal of the AH vendor from the mount.
        Blizzard (Source)
Trying to figure out where these people keep getting this idea that the AH vendor is being removed from the mount because that has been said nowhere and yet people are acting like this is common knowledge.
We want to be perfectly clear on this – we do not intend to remove the AH vendor from this mount, especially when some players put in a great deal of effort to acquire this mount specifically for that functionality. Of course, we remember that we removed the Mystic Birdhat’s Reforging from the Reins of the Grand Expedition Yak, but that was because we removed Reforging from the game.
The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur is something that fundamentally alters players’ flow around the world, and it’s a unique convenience, but it’s certainly not essential. We’ve seen how luxury mounts like the Reins of the Traveler's Tundra Mammoth started out as something special and rare: a repair vendor wherever you are! They were originally ultra-exclusive and mostly purchased by guild banks for convenient raid use, but then became increasingly commonplace due to gold inflation over time.
We think that a moderate amount of gold inflation is healthy. It ensures that new or returning players can catch up and participate in server economies without having to put in a herculean effort to avoid being priced out of essential goods. In this case, we want to ensure that in the long run, years from now, we don’t find ourselves looking around and seeing AH mounts that are as common as repair mounts are today.

The side effects you get from Corrupted Items have changed on 8.3 PTR again.
As you probably know, Corrupted Items are making their way into the game in Visions of N'Zoth. These items come with a Benthic-like buff and +Corruption, which activates various side effects based on your current level of Total Corruption. Cleansing the item not only removes the +Corruption stat, but also its beneficial effect.

Blizzard has been working with multiple iterations of Corrupted Items on 8.3 PTR and side-effect ranges. Here's what we currently have on the PTR:
        Corrupted Items
Items touched by N'Zoth's influence grant great power, but expose bearers to dangers of increasing severity.
Grasping Tendrils (1 Corruption) - Taking damage has a chance to reduce your movement speed for 5 sec. The magintude of the snare increases with further Corruption. Eye of Corruption (20 Corruption) - Your spells and abilities have a chance to summon an Eye of Corruption for 8 sec. The Eye inflicts increasing Shadow damage to you every 2 sec while you remain in range. Range and damage increase with further Corruption. Grand Delusions (40 Corruption) - Taking damage has a chance to summon a Thing From Beyond, which pursues you for 8 seconds. Its speed increases with further Corruption.
Cascading Disaster (60 Corruption) - If you are struck by the Thing From Beyond, you will be immediately aflicted by Grasping Tendrils and Eye of Corruption. Recent 8.3 Changes
Previously, we had the effects activate at 10/20/40/60 Corruption as opposed to 1/20/40/60.  Eye of Corruption previously summoned a corrupted zone, but the eye is much more visible. Inevitable Doom which was available at 60 Corruption was removed and replaced with Cascading Disaster. You can find more details about Corrupted Items here.
