It’s time to marshal your menagerie and put your best battle pets forward in the volcanic labyrinth of Blackrock Depths, a new Pet Battle Dungeon with Normal and Challenge difficulties available with the release of Visions of N’Zoth.

At long last, we’ve discovered the secret headquarters of the sinister group that has been conducting vile experiments on critters across Azeroth. Soon, Pet Battle Dungeon challengers will be able to embark on the final fight to stop their machinations and reveal the truth behind this shadowy organization.

To get started on your journey, you’ll need to have completed the four previous Pet Battle Dungeon quests: “Wailing Critters,” “The Deadmines Strike Back,” “Gnomeregan’s New Guardians,” and “Tiny Terrors of Stratholme.” Once all four quest lines have been completed at Normal or Challenge difficulty, you’ll be able to accept a new quest from Tizzy Gearjolt in Boralus or Radek Fuselock in Dazar’alor and begin your Blackrock Depths pet battle journey.

TIP: If you have not finished all of the Pet Battle Dungeons, or if this is your first foray into Pet Battle Dungeons, you might find these strategy guides helpful to get you ready for the newest Pet Battle Dungeon.

Wailing Critters | The Deadmines | Gnomeregan | Stratholme.

Pets from just about every family will stand against you in Blackrock Depths, so you’ll need to come prepared with a variety of your own to succeed. You’ll be able to heal and revive your pets between each of the 9 stages in Normal difficulty, but not in Challenge difficulty.

Defeating the dungeon on Normal difficulty will earn players an Ultimate Battle-Training Stone Ultimate Battle-Training Stone and unlock Challenge difficulty. You’ll also be able to avail yourself of Manapoof’s aid to teleport directly to Blackrock Depths’ dungeon entrance as a part of the quest reward.

Those who prove themselves to be the very best on Challenge difficulty will earn the achievementPet Battle Challenge: Blackrock Depths Pet Battle Challenge: Blackrock Depths along with Shadowy Disguise Shadowy Disguise, a toy that disguises you as a shadowy figure for 15 seconds.

Completing Challenge difficulty will count toward a weekly quest that rewards Shadowy Gem Shadowy Gems, an account-bound currency that you redeem for an Unopened Blackrock Supply Crate Unopened Blackrock Supply Crate filled with pet supplies, or for three new pets—Wailing Lasher Wailing Lasher, Experiment 13 Experiment 13, and Tinyclaw Tinyclaw. Speak with Burt Macklyn at the entrance of the dungeon to add one of these powerful fiends to your ranks.

Completing all five Pet Battle Dungeons (Wailing Caverns, The Deadmines, Gnomeregan, Stratholme, and Blackrock Depths) on Challenge difficulty will reward you with The Shadows Revealed The Shadows Revealed achievement and the Mayhem Mind Melder Mayhem Mind Melder toy which lets you take control of your companion pet for 30 seconds.

Whether you’re new to pet battle dungeons or a companion-combat veteran, you’ll want to get in on the ongoing story as it unfolds. Who are the shadowy figures that keep appearing in each pet battle dungeon? What exactly have they been building with all of the parts they’ve collected from Pet Battle Dungeons over the years?

Discover what awaits your critter pals next in Blackrock Depths!

"People sure seem to spend a lot of time in BRD in Classic, let's give them something to go that same place in retail" - Design team, probably.

I'm all for more content, but this seems like a really strange time to plug this in.

I really don't care for the pet battle system and pretty much ignore the feature all together.  Mostly just collect pets and move onto different areas of PvE farming for select mounts/xmog.

N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth is a new item discovered on 8.3 PTR which transforms you into a Servant of N'Zoth and lets you kill members of your own faction in Kul Tiras and Zandalar if you're into PvP and have War Mode on.
To receive N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth, you must first turn on War Mode and defeat 10 members of the opposing faction without dying. The subsequent quest provides you with N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth and the goal is to slay 10 members of your own faction without dying to receive the Servant of N'Zoth achievement which comes with the Servant of N'Zoth title and the quest also rewards the N'lyeth, Sliver of N'Zoth toy. Other rewards are currently unknown.

We've encountered the Talon's Vengeance faction in Legion and used Ivory Feather to collect Marks of Prey and on the Timeless Isle we used Censer of Eternal Agony to collect Bloody Coins from players back in Mists of Pandaria, so the concept isn't exactly new.

It will be easier to acquire Nazjatar Essences in Patch 8.3 on alts. Blizzard added new Bind to Account reputation tokens which increase your rep gain with the Nazjatar factions by 250 up to Exalted.
Mechagon already comes with a reputation-increasing item in the form of Rustbolt Resistance Insignia and instead of making Essences account-wide, Blizzard decided to implement new reputation tokens purchasable from the Nazjatar faction quartermasters. They cost 20 Prismatic Manapearls and increase your reputation with the factions by 250 each. You can buy them if you're main has reached Revered with the respective Nazjatar reputation.
Waveswept Abyssal Conch can be purchased from Speaker Utia for 20 Prismatic Manapearls and increases your reputation with Waveblade Ankoan by 250 up to Exalted. Waveswept Abyssal Conch can be purchased from Atolia Seapearl for 20 Prismatic Manapearls and increases your reputation with the Unshackled by 250 up to Exalted. Additionally, Blizzard reduced reputation requirements from 8.2 vendor-sold Essences and you can find more details here.

Finally Deathwing's size is getting the appropriate number of pixels to represent him as he was meant to be! We have two new AI upscaled videos to share today, starting with the into to Cataclysm, aka the Deathwing blows everything up show. There's also the ill-fated Starcraft: Ghost 3rd person shooter that was cancelled, but not before we got a pretty solid cinematic out of it, featuring the Overming, a whole lot of marines and zerg and, ofc course, Nova.

Black Dragonscale Backpack is a cosmetic item sold by Wrathion in Patch 8.3. The cloak is actually a Wrathion-themed backpack that can be used for transmog.
The backpack is very similar to the Vulpera Heritage Rucksack, used in the Vulpera Heritage Armor in Visions of N'Zoth.

When you unlock Horrific Visions in the upcoming content update, you can talk to Wrathion who sells various items for Coalesced Visions and Corrupted Mementos including:
Vessel of Horrific Visions for 10,000 Coalesced Visions; Gouged Eye of N'Zoth for 25,000 Corrupted Mementos; Black Dragonscale Backpack (new) for 40,000 Corrupted Mementos; Wicked Swarmer for 100,000 Corrupted Mementos. Related 8.3 Build 32805 News

Veteran of the Fourth War is a new spell intended for the second generation of Death Knights created in Patch 8.3. The flavor spell is in place to reflect the end of the Battle for Azeroth War Campaign in front of the Gates of Orgrimmar ([error]). It works exactly as Veteran of the Third War for existing Death Knights.
Players who pre-ordered Shadowlands will be able to create Allied Race and Pandaren Death Knights in Visions of N'Zoth. There will be a new intro with Bolvar and Blizzard has updated their eye glow multiple times on 8.3 PTR to bring it more in line with the Lich King's eyes.
