Deathwing Nerfs Coming in the Next Balance Patch

Recommended Posts

Deathwing will be nerfed in a future balance patch. We're looking at more general nerfs across the board, mainly to DestroyerDestroyer form, overall talent tuning, and some World BreakerWorld Breaker buffs.

Hey Calcaz!

We get enough data, even with a massive ban rate. Of course, as more data comes in we’re more confident with where things sit, but we have always had enough data to make educated changes before the first balance patch after a new hero release. After the first balance patch, we always have an even more clear picture of where things stand since we have that much more time for data to come in.

Balance patch is looking good!

For Deathwing, more general nerfs across the board, particularly to DestroyerDestroyer form. Also some World BreakerWorld Breaker buffs and talent tuning.

Can’t confirm dates. Confirming dates is the path to the dark side.

It show's the Worldbreaker talent of Thrall, but i believe they mean Deathwing's World Breaker skill/form. Maybe i am wrong there.

Hmm, we'll have to wait and see. But IMO Deathwing should be at least a bit notably stronger than other characters. Not only because of his fantasy, but also because he can't be helped by allies.

The fact that he cannot get beneficial effects by allies is balanced by the fact that he is Unstopable no matter what.

And you cannot possibly ask for a character to be notably stronger than all the rest just because "lore". This is a MOBA.

If you wanted it to be lore, then Deathwing is huge. We raided on his back. It's why he's called the Worldbreaker. He shouldn't have had a body and just been a giant shadow flying the battlefield bombarding it.

It's been a while since we last heard of Kevin Johnson aka Cloaken. After leaving Blizzard, he briefly returned to narrate the Deathwing Spotlight, and recently, launched his own company called Harken Interactive. On YouTube, Kevin recently started The Listening Game Podcast, and in the first episode, he interviewed Lana Bachynski, a former Heroes Animator who now works on League of Legends at Riot Games.
Lana Bachynski is responsible for bringing characters to life through movement. Her most notable work includes animation on Blizzard's Heroes of the Storm and StarCraft II.
Kevin and Lana talk about what made the Heroes team so special and why it was so difficult to leave.
