Get Your Charity Server Blade Fixed Before March 31, 2020

Recommended Posts

Redditor u/gizmosguide received a response email regarding the damaged charity server blades that arrived to collectors in December and you have until March 31 to reach out to Blizzard and get them fixed.

Blizzard has now responded with a set of instructions and you have until March 31 to get this sorted out!

  • You will receive a brand new server blade if the actual hardware was damaged, you should do so as soon as possible because replacement quantities are limited.
  • If the plexiglass or stand was damaged, they will send you a new one, but it will take up to 15 weeks because both are custom-made.

Alternatively, you can request a full refund.

We’re writing to you because you purchased one of the limited-edition World of Warcraft Charity Server Blades made available through the Blizzard Gear Store in September 2019—and over the past few weeks, it’s come to our attention that some of them may have been damaged in transit.

If you received one of these damaged blades, we’d like to offer our sincere apologies; we know you were looking forward to receiving this piece of World of Warcraft history, and we regret any disappointment we may have caused when your item arrived in an unacceptable condition.

To help set things right, we’d like to present a couple of different options. Please take a moment to review them, and—if you haven’t already submitted a request with Blizzard Gear Store customer support—reach out to us by March 31, 2020 to let us know which option you’d prefer:

  • If the actual server blade hardware was damaged, you’re eligible to receive a complete replacement free of charge*. We will send you a return shipping label so you can send the complete damaged item back to us. Your replacement will be sent once we receive the damaged blade and the replacement is available.
  • If the plexiglass cover or stand was damaged, we will send a new cover or stand free of charge. In this case, you do not need to send anything back to us.
  • If you would instead prefer to receive a refund for your damaged item, we will send you a return shipping label so you can send the complete damaged item back to us for a refund.
  • If you’d like to move forward with a replacement or refund, and you have NOT already placed a request through the Blizzard Gear Store, please follow the instructions below by March 31, 2020.

1. Log in to the Order History section of the Blizzard Gear Store: https://gear.blizzard.com/us/sales/order/history/

  • Please be sure to use only this direct link; our Gear Store changed recently and any other links will point you to the new storefront where your order won’t appear

2. Locate your order for the Charity Server Blade and click View Order.

  • Your order number is [REDACTED]

3. Click Return in the top right.

4. Fill out the dropdown boxes appropriately, and then use the Add Comments section to tell us:

  • Whether there is damage to the plastic cover, the server blade itself, or both components
  • Please be as clear and thorough in your initial request as possible, as this will help get you the right materials.

5. Click Submit Return.

6. Your return will be visible from the My Returns page.

Please note that due to the custom nature of the plexiglass covers and the time needed to remanufacture them, it may take up to approximately 15 weeks for shipment.

*With the limited-edition nature of the server blades, replacement quantities are limited, so please reach out to us as soon as possible if you received damaged server hardware. We’ll replace on a first-come, first-served basis or otherwise provide refunds. As there are two very similar types of blades, the replacement may be a slightly different size and configuration from the one you originally received.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you again for your support and understanding.

The World of Warcraft Team

Finally, I'm tagging all the folks from the original post that got their hands on broken server blades/plexiglass, so that they know how to resolve these issues:

The new Battle.net is almost upon us! The long time beta is coming to a close and going live for certain NA regions now, with a full release coming in the next weeks as well. Check out the official post:
      Battle.net (source)
We’re getting ready to roll out the biggest front-end upgrade to Battle.net in years.
Battle.net has been a huge part of our history going back to the release of the original Diablo in 1996. We’re proud of how it’s helped people connect and play Blizzard games together quickly and easily. With the latest release, we want to welcome players of all ability levels and make sure they have a smooth time navigating the app.
Those of you who’ve been participating in the beta are already familiar with these updates. For everyone else, you’ll see some major changes when your client’s patched from the live version of Battle.net to the new version:
Improved navigation and layout—you can now favorite your games and arrange them for ease of access A much more expansive layout for news and game content in full-page view A revamped social pane so you can better see your friends and what they’re up to on each game tab  Major accessibility improvements—we’ve added the ability to navigate most of the app with your keyboard, increased our screen reader support, and improved the color contrast A new, consolidated notifications hub for messages and download status
The new patch will go out to parts of North America first so that we can ensure its stability. We’ll roll it out further in the weeks ahead, including to other player regions.
This is just the beginning of new features coming to Battle.net; we’ll keep iterating, improving, and adding to the app over time. We’d love to hear your feedback once you’ve spent some time with the new app, and you can share your thoughts on the forums.
Go play some games and have fun!

Blizzard is sending out new surveys to players about Classic Burning Crusade via mail!
Back in March, Blizzard sent the first Classic TBC survey to players via mail. They wanted to find out how the transition from Classic to Burning Crusade would be handled. Now, it appears they are sending out follow-up surveys.
Blizzard is asking via mail how interested would players be in a "Classic" version of TBC, and if they would simultaneously play 2 Classic versions of the game. One interesting question that appeared in the survey deals with a WoW Classic "reboot" realm where the game is as it was on Day 1 (e.g. all players start at Level 1, Molten Core and Onyxia are the only raids available, etc.).
      Summary of All Questions
How interested are you in a "Classic" version of The Burning Crusade? Thinking about your maim WoW Classic character, would the character you create on this new "fresh start" realm become your new main character or would you play this in addition to your main character? Where do you think you would spend more of your time? A new "fresh start" WoW Classic realm where all content is reset to Day 1. The Burning Crusade Classic. I'd play both equally. How likely are you to play a "Classic" version of The Burning Crusade? If World of Warcraft introduced a new WoW Classic "fresh start" realm where the game is as it was on Day 1 (e.g., all players start at Level 1, Molten Core and Onyxia are the only raids available, battlegrounds are not yet available, etc.) and content unlocks/progresses over time, how interested would you be in playing on that realm? Thanks to LetMeSpoilThisForU for the images.

The launch of Shadowlands was extremely successful for Blizzard. The new expansion became the fastest-selling PC game in history for 1 day, and ATVI stocks reached all-time highs.
The current share price is $89.39, according to Yahoo.

Blizzard France employees are going on strike against the planned Versailles office closure on Shadowlands launch date.
On October 6, we reported that Blizzard would be closing their French office in Versailles, which employs at least 280 people. The first strike as per the recommendation of their union happened on October 14.
A new call for strike against the planned Versailles office closure at Blizzard France is supposed to occur from November 24 onwards.
The union calls for an abandonment of the closure, diversification of the Blizzard activity in France, and investment in the care of psycho-social risks.
