More Neutral Pandaren Hit Max Level!

Recommended Posts

Update: It seems Frankly wasn't the second, as there are quite a few new neutral Pandaren since the pre-patch made things easier, including Pandemia, Chicho and more! In fact there's even a great new Avengers-like poster for them all:

_____________________________________________________________

Doubleagent isn't alone in his factionless herb and mining stupor anymore! Sir_Frank_B has taken his Pandaren Frankly to the end of his journey (for now), as he dinged 50 today! Also, do you want to hear something really spooky? Frankly dinged max level on the EXACT same day as Doubleagent did, just 2 years later.

The effort has been ongoing for a long time, taking 25 days /played in total, and while he didn't quite manage to reach max level before the pre-patch, he has a pretty good reason why!

Quote

I got to level 111 and about 33% toward 112, but it was 40xp per gather and 831,000 points to level, so I figured it would take 120 hours or so per level to get to 120, and I ran out of time before the squish.

Apparently Magni really doesn't care whether you have a faction or ever left your starter zone, he WILL find you and woonz you.
Source.

In case you aren't familiar with what exactly is happening here or how he managed to get to max level without ever choosing a faction:

Quote

Followed the [starter] quest line until finished, but didn't complete the last step, choosing a faction. Then killing mobs and mining copper and gathering herbs, until mobs stopped giving xp around [old] level 30. From then on it was a year of herbalism and mining. I smelted ore into bars for gold, but that was probably a waste of time. Nothing to spend gold on!

The pre-patch made things easier, as it increased the XP gains from the herb and mining nodes:

Quote

I logged in having been squished to 45, just a few points from 46. So, I picked herbs and mined ore, which were now worth 100xp, and to level was 120,000 or so. Level 50 took 154,075. So, the last few levels were about 8 hours each.

Unfortunately there's still 1 more honor to be had in this factionless existence, as Frankly didn't manage to remain specless:

Quote

I chose Windwalker as soon as it was offered. When pre-patch happened, I was still a Windwalker, but all of my talents were reset.

So for anyone crazy enough out there, you can still get the only faction and spec-less character ever!

So congrats to Sir_Frank_B on getting it done! Frankly will continue on at some point after Shadowlands arrives, so Doubleagent might have some competition for that first squished level 60, but he will forever be the first and only factionless level 120!

It would be cool as *filtered* if they can go and play shadowlands.

Shadowlands is all about dumping the Alliance/Horde idiocy that's still forced upon us in order to answer more pressing issues. (Of course, so was Legion..) So when Blizz can get their S* together, it would be really cool if they could figure out how to make this work.
Or just revamp the whole Alliance/Horde split altogether. Either would make me very happy.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale

We've looked at the Mythic+ Tier List for the first time in Patch 10.2.6!
