All Diablo 2 and Lord of Destruction Cinematics in 8K and 60 FPS

Recommended Posts

We've seen plenty of bits and pieces of the many cinematics of Diablo2 and its expansion improved over the last year or so, but now Upscale have upgraded every single cutsence from the legendary game! We get to enjoy the whole story in one video, with some impressive visual upgrades, with up to 8K resolution (although most of us will probably top out at 4K) and 60 FPS!

Those cinematics are timeless and they all so awesome in 8k. But that last one, the World Stone being destroying, knowing the lore around it, what drove the characters and the affects of its destruction, it makes it more poignant now than ever before.

As we wait for Diablo 4 (and D3 Season 22), here's some more Diablo goodness, in the form of a new D2 mod! This one's pretty different from the usual crowd, as it completely changes the game and sees you competing against other players in a roguelike experience to take down the bosses and Leoric himself at the end! From FFA, 2v2v2v2 and 4v4 modes, this mod sees you battling it out in PvP, finding merchants to upgrade your gear (including runes!) and getting potions and similar, all the while pushing forward to try and down the bosses (Balrog, Archbishop Lazarus, The Butcher, Gharbad, Etrigran, and the Black Knight) to get to Leoric and be the first to last hit him.
You can download the mod here or check out the site itself as well.

It's been quite a while since we heard anything from Diablo 4, as we wait for the third quarterly update which should be arriving by the end of the month. However, there has been some movement on the staff front, in addition to the recent recruitment post for a monetization expert. We have two new job postings to take a look at today, with Global Digital Marketing Manager and a Senior PR Manager positions being available.
This may indicate a faster ramp up in the development of Diablo 4 (and, to a lesser extent, Diablo Immortal), as all of these positions are sales-related, so the infinite speculation over the exact year D4 is releasing in (and mild chatter about when Diablo Immortal is coming) can continue unabated!

We have a few blue posts for the Diablo franchise, as community manager PezRadar has chimed in on two very high interest issues. Let's start with a possible delay for Diablo 3 Season 22, which should also be about a month and change away if recent season durations are any indication, but this one might take a little longer:
      D3 Season 22 (source)
Tbh the s22 and q3 update is too clumped up. They need to spread the hyoe trains abit
after all the silence you could clarify a bit more on both q3 and ptr notes tbh
      Quarterly Blog.
PTR is still a bit further down.
"A bit further down" is a pretty loose definition, but if the season is indeed scheduled to end in a month, and with the new PTR lasting 2 weeks + 1 additional week to implement the changes, it seems like we might get an extended Season 21. Putting aside the actual information shared, the very short responses are somewhat uncharacteristic for PezRadar, making the whole thing a little weird.
We're also all still waiting for the third quarterly update for Diablo 4, which is due to arrive by the end of this month, as pointed out by official forum user Venaliter, and PezRadar confirmed this in another somewhat weird post:
      D4 Quarterly Update (source)
Third quarter ends the end of September. Anywhere from now, to slightly past then.
This is the expected. So nothing new there, the update is coming, probably around the end of this month (and you can check out the previous two here and here).

Here's another blast from the past. It's a PC review of the original Diablo game from the Computer and Video Games Magazine UK, Issue 185, from April 1997.
