Patch 9.0.2 Hotfixes: January 12th

This week's hotfixes continue! From a Torghast Beasts and Rogue power fix, to yesterday's changes to Convoke being reverted, Covenant issues and quests fixed and more!

Classes

  • Druid
    • Reverted a recent change that caused Convoke the Spirits (Night Fae Ability) to strike targets affected by crowd control abilities that break on damage, such as Entangling Roots.

Covenants

  • Kyrian
    • “An Earned Bond” now displays the correct companion you will earn upon completion.
  • Night Fae
    • The point of interest indicator for “Mushroom for Improvement” should now be easier to see on the map.
  • Venthyr
    • Fixed an issue that caused the shared cinematic for Maldraxxus and Revendreth Campaigns to not play for Venthyr players.

Dungeons and Raids

  • Castle Nathria
    • Lady Inerva Darkvein
      • Resolved an issue where Lady Inerva Darkvein could not be attacked if players are defeated by her lieutenants.

Quests

  • Fixed an issue where the tribute tray and Silver Strongbox would sometimes not appear during the quest “The Sweetest Tribute.”
  • Fixed an issue where Kael'thas Sunstrider would sometimes not appear for the first scenario step during "Medallion of Dominion."
  • Elite monsters now give more credit during the Maldraxxus Bonus Objective "Decaying Situation."
  • Alliance players should no longer be teleported out of the Battle for Azeroth War Campaign instance of Orgrimmar when pushed "Shadowlands: A Chilling Summons." Horde players will still be teleported out of the instance until they complete the "Through the Shattered Sky" questline due to conflicting instances for these two pieces of content.

Torghast, Tower of the Damned

  • [For realms in the NA region only] Resolved an issue that temporarily turned off the Beasts of Prodigum event.
  • Anima Powers
    • Rogue
      • Corrected an issue where damaging Anima Powers (like Lightning Dust) were doing less damage than intended.

User Interface

  • The edge of the screen Anima visual affect that appears while dead is now removed when Reduce Camera Motion or Keep Character Centered and Reduce Camera Motion is selected in the Accessibility menu.

But vanishing anima power bug is not fixed 😕

      It took a while, but I finally caught up with Complexity-Limit and had a chat about their big Castle Nathria Race to World First win over at Raider.IO. We talked about the global release and how it could be implemented, the extremely exciting final day on Denathrius with Echo, the old-school kill-hiding ways returning, their thoughts on Shadowlands systems, their back-to-back win, obviously, and many many more topics!

      The boost sale communities have taken it up a notch, as basically taking over Trade Chat and Group Finder (despite the latter being against ToS) wasn't enough, and they're resorting to some very low-tech ways.
      Unfortunately this isn't one of the actually funny corpses spelling out a site name stories, but a really annoying one, as players have been receiving in-game spam mail!

      This has been going on for quite a while, but we thought we'd highlight it, especially since the above is an actual real-money operation and not one of the more frequent gold-based ones. Aside from the very concept being borderline insane (who in their right mind would go to an outside site based on getting in-game spam mail?), it's also pretty damn annoying. Apparently being constantly inundated by advertising spam in basically every channel on Azeroth and having to sift through dozens of ads in the group finder wasn't enough, and now we need to hire goblins and gnomes to create a physical spam filter on our mailboxes! Suffice it to say that even before this became a thing the ads were getting out of hand and most players are very much fed up with them, so this really is the cherry on top of a really bad sundae.

      If you use your Hearthstone while lying down, your character will also arrive lying down where you've set your Hearthstone.
      This one's a little ridiculous. A while back, we posted an article on how to hearth efficiently in WoW and learned that you should face in the direction you want to move after hearthing when setting your Hearthstone because most of us do so facing the innkeeper.
      It turns out you can use the Hearthstone while lying down, and the funny part is that you will also arrive lying down at the inn!

      The "elevator boss" running gag got a lot more serious in Revendreth, at least with War Mode on, as there have been some existential fights happening over there for a while now. There's also a lot of mystery surrounding how they actually work, as the "mechanism" that seems to power them might just be a cover.
      Pavle decided to take possession of one of Revendreth's elevators and charge a fee to use it, the fee being your life.
      That poor, poor paladin! This isn't anything new, of, course, as players have been using the elevators for some damn good PvP since launch!
      But it's not just the players and their PvP antics that are troublesome, as the elevators themselves, like all of Revendreth, just don't seem quite... right.
      Meanwhile the LITERAL elevator boss is probably just standing there shaking his head at all the carnage and malfunctions:

      We have another intrepid traveler deciding to boycott the flight masters and make their own way across the Shadowlands!
      We already know all the Shadowlands realms are actually on 1 connected map, and we've even seen low level characters glide into the Maw from Ardenweald, but that was a strictly downward trajectory! This time we're going up, to the very top of Oribos, and we're using fairy dust to do it! Hezerd went VERY far up in the weald and then proceeded to Demon Hunter glide/Fel Rush/goblin glide over into the Arbiter's room in Oribos!
