Necrolord Holy Priests Are Literally Immortal Combo/Bug/Exploit

Recommended Posts

Update: Blizzard have fixed this bug, as mentioned in today's hotfixes you can read here.

It seems being a Holy Priest is paying off, as the majority of them that chose Necrolords can actually be immortal with the right legendary + Soulbind combination. Also, this hopefully goes without saying: DON'T use this as it may lead to suspensions.

An old bug from the beta, which we've actually covered already, has returned, as Holy Priests can get infinite Spirit of Redemption Spirit of Redemptions and, well, just never ever die. The combo/bug/exploit? works with the X'anshi, Return of Archbishop Benedictus X'anshi, Return of Archbishop Benedictus legendary, as its interaction with the Forgeborne Reveries Forgeborne Reveries Soulbind talent from Bonesmith Heirmir makes it ignore the 10 minute cooldown after one Spirit trigger, and it just keeps on proccing.

This particular Soulbind only became available this week with the completion of the Necrolord campaign, so the bug/situation wasn't possible before yesterday, but it's a pretty big one, so hopefully a fix arrives soon. While the bug works in Mythic+, Torghast, BGs and Arenas, you really shouldn't try this particular one out, as it may lead to suspensions. There are mitigating factors, as the death counter still triggers for any activity that has it, such as M+, Arenas and Torghast, so it's not as big of an advantage there, but, as you'll see below, it's still a huge bonus.

Luckily neziot did the right thing and shared their experience with the issue so it could be fixed ASAP, and here's some footage of the effect in action, as neziot very nicely showcases the effect and how it happens:

And here's the effect in action in a 3v3 Arena, where neziot managed to die and rez 5 times:

eagerly waiting for a FORMAL reply from Blizzard ASAP
If it is as intended/allowed (albeit highly unlikely), then priests can transfer to Necrolord for progression. 😍
If not allowed, then fix the damn "taunting" bug quickly before priests start transferring over just to find it fixed at a later date. 😡

They still haven't fixed seed being usable in arenas so don't expect a fix for that anytime soon.

Talking about podtender? If so that's actually intended and they've been adding hotfixes to kill the bugs about it not being targetable and fixing the name plate.

Dunegorger Kraulok is up this week and drops Slightly Damp Pile of Fur, so don't forget to head to Vol'dun and defeat the world boss for a chance at Mollie.
Slightly Damp Pile of Fur is one of the Alpaca mounts added in Visions of N'Zoth. It has a small chance to drop from Dunegorger Kraulok in Vol'dun. Battle for Azeroth world bosses are on a fixed rotation, so you won't be able to kill Kraulok for a few weeks. You can try to kill the world boss on your alts too for an increased chance at Mollie.
"The kind nature of alpacas makes them perfect as companions for the intrepid adventurer."

We're back with the weekly Mythic+ updates, as this week sees Fire rocket even further away from the other specs and Fury rises the most among top players! Luckily Fire will be toned down come 9.1, but it's going to remain the extreme top dog for a while more.
Note: The logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
This past week was Tyrannical, Inspiring, Necrotic (and Prideful).
      All Keys
Fire remains far above all the other specs this week in the 95th as even Balance and Outlaw, who were hanging in there the last two weeks, fall back down with the rest of them! The two specs also switch places in 2nd and 3rd, as Fury is the main mover in the top, jumping 2 spots to land just outside the top 5, as Affliction falls one to accommodate it. Frost Mage jumped the most spots overall, however, sneaking into the top 10 with a 4 spot leap, as Assassination drops a few to make room.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
All percentiles follows the top ones this week, with Balance taking 2nd and Fury rising, with Elemental actually topples Marksmanship, unlike in the 95th.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      High Keys
The +15 crowd is as stable as ever, with only Elemental rising a significant amount, and Assassination falling off 3 spots but remaining in the top 10. Feral had a decent week, dragging itself up from dead last a whole 5 spots, leaving Demo and BM to languish at the bottom. Increasingly this bracket seems to be the actual most realistic benchmark for the specs, as more and more players play in this particular sandbox.

Mythic+15 All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
Th twenties are actually quite stable this week and it seems the Subtletly game is up, as it spends another week down around the bottom. Shadow also dropped a little, with the biggest mover being Feral, who went down to the penultimate spot.

In this week's 9.1 build, Blizzard made the legendary Hunter bow from Sylvanas upgradable.
Rae'shalare, Death's Whisper, the legendary Hunter bow dropped by Sylvanas Windrunner in Sanctum of Domination, can be upgraded with two items that drop on higher difficulties.
Wraithwisp Sinew drops on Heroic difficulty and improves the bow to item level 246. Ethereal Fletching drops on Mythic difficulty and the item improves the bow to item level 259. Hunters will be able to obtain Rae'shalare, Death's Whisper, which grants them the Wailing Arrow ability, and a quiver (Dark Ranger's Quiver) with a unique effect that synergizes well with the bow (Withering Fire) in Chains of Domination.

Wielders of the bow will also earn the following Feat of Strength achievement that was added this week in Build 39015 - Rae'shalare, Death's Whisper.
