No New Customization Options Planned for Shadowlands

Recommended Posts

During the WoW Q&A, Blizzard confirmed that they do not plan on adding any new customization options in Shadowlands.

The WoW dev team thinks that the new customization options added in the Shadowlands pre-patch allow for a ton of new options to alter the character's looks, and they are overall happy with their breadth.

As a result, new customization options aren't a priority for the team throughout Shadowlands. Do you feel like the game needs more of them, or are you happy with the options that came with the pre-patch?

I'm amazed at the stink this has caused on the forums.......

They are obviously behind on content, having a pretty looking character is all grand, when you have nothing to do, as they spent all the dev time on new hair cuts.........

*cries in Nightborne* Rather hypocritical on Blizz's part, considering they were touting customizations as a huge selling point for Shadowlands. Now it's "Nah, we're not gonna do that". Humans, orcs, trolls, dwarves, worgen, nelves and belves all got pretty decent customizations. The only allied race to get anything remotely decent was the void elves because "MUH HIGH ELVES!"

Meanwhile, allied races that needed serious overhauls *cough*Nightborne*cough* are left wanting after we were told allied race customizations were coming later. *smdh*

Definitely need more. At least for the allied races. As a Kul Tiran it baffles me that we didn't even get tattoos at all, while the wandering NPCs of Kul Tiran do.

Kinda funny that of all the dozens of things Blizz has said we would get over the years and haven't this seems to be the thing that pushed people over the edge

I love the " If we don't get customization, I want a refund " like that was why you bought the expansion?

" It was a selling point, I'm gonna sue for false advertizing"....no...they did add some...

They did a lot...if this is the point of contention and the hill you're willing to die on....then WoW isn't for you.

Or, they spent most of their dev time fine tuning all of this covenant borrowed power bullshit that the majority of players didn't want to begin with.

Nightborne and Kul Tiran need a few more options, everyone else is OK or good for options.

Every allied race needs more options now compared to classic races.

You're welcome.

In other words, you pulled it out of your "i've heard" *filtered*.

Nice.

In other words you have access to a valid internet connection, I'm not your errand boy. Whether I'm right or wrong I couldn't care less, I've read the mounting piles of frustration with how restrictive covenants are and how tired people are of borrowed power. -shrug-

So. I've read up. Found some forum posts and redditors posting about "not liking Covvies", yet they are shut down completely by the numerous comments underneath the posts. You know it's easy to be the loud one, which are those few, but heard. Doesn't mean they are the 'majority' nor the correct ones.

Edgelords like yourself try to enforce a lesser opinion, which is the sad truth for things like the media in general.

You're beating a dead horse here mate, as I said I couldn't really care if I'm right or wrong. More people like covenants than I thought, okay?

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.
      (Source)
      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
