Castle Nathria 9.0.5 Day 1 DPS, Tank and Healer Log Rankings

Recommended Posts

UPDATE: We've now taken a look at the rankings after 4 and a half days of the patch, so if you want to check out a more up-to-date version, click here!

Patch 9.0.5 brought lots of changes to classes, either via legendary or Covenant changes, or even directly to the classes, so we're taking a quick preliminary look at what that's done to the Nathria log rankings for all three roles. If you want to check out the actual changes, you can take a look at the full patch notes here.

Important note: these rankings are very preliminary, as they only encompass the past day since the patch launched, with only the US having access to the patch. We'll have a better idea of what things are like once players have more time with the patch. Having said that, most of the specs have a solid number of logs, aside from the usual suspects which are REALLY low: Survival, Arcane and Demonology, so you should probably ignore their results.

NathriaAll.jpg
All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.

And let's also take a look at the Heroic stats, which have many more logs available:

Back to Mythic, we can also take a look at the tank DPS and healer HPS stats, although those aren't as relevant as those 2 roles are much more complex than just those numbers.

As always, if you want even more info on a spec, you can check out our class guides here.

It's nice to see that my Survival Hunter has a great chance at being competitive.

Yea, I was rather disappointed by the fact that were little to no buffs/changes to survival outside of covenant buffs. Only one legendary was buffed too as well, unless they are expecting the spec to get beefed up in 9.1.0 I really don't see how it can compete. Let alone be accepted to other content such as M+ and raiding.

There are two viable Hunter Class Specs.  I don't think Blizzard has ever had the goal of every Spec being viable.

I'm with you, I really wanted to play Sub Rogue this Xpac... If I want to play the Rogue Class then I need to play Outlaw or Sin.

Hunter, Like Rogue, has two viable specs in PvE and a wildcard spec that is really good at PvP.

I'm bummed that Sub and Survival are useless at PvE right now but to be fair to Blizzard, they say Bring the player not the class nothing about spec.

Finally someone who speaks the truth. I´m really tired of people whining about a spec when their class has one or sometimes two other totally viable specs. I totally get that some people like survival ( that I enjoy playing too even though it´s terrible) or any undertuned other spec. But yeah the game is about class balance not spec balance. You have the right to play whatever spec you like but accept the consequences.

anyone else tried the specific frost DK spec that dual wield and dual hysteria? i seem to pull a lot more dps than any other frost spec i have tried as i can maintain syndragosa breath for around a minute, with venthyr covenent however i was able to sustain it pretty much indefinately on a patchwork fight, only the simcraft doesnt know how to roll cooldowns to maintain.....

As expected, there's been a lot more action on the meme side of things in the great MS +ABK story, and we're here to cover them! While the themes and ideas are pretty much the same as in the first batch, a lot of the new ones are much more refined and very well done, with a couple of desktop background-worthy entries!
We're starting with the main feature here, and you'll probably want this one on your desktop ASAP, as TehWurrior nailed it, and also came up with the best new term coming out of the acquisition: "Woondows".
Champyen! I sense a Windows Update waitin' for ye!

      Source: TehWurrior.
Sticking with the desktop wallpaper theme, the next one is a bit more subtle, but it's basically the same:

      Source: BritainsNuttiestGuy.
Next up we have a direct live feed from how the deal actually went down:
Last time I skipped all the Clippy ones as they were pretty same-y, but this one actually looks good!
Clippy Mount as reward for your new Office 365 - 6 Month subscription!

      Source: DizzyDox.
We also have a role-reversal, as Clippy moves into WoW, he may lose his original job:

      Source: vO_Oz.
It seems we're not quite done with Covenants, even in 10.0:

      Source: vO_Oz.
Moving on to the Halo stuff, an old WoW classic has been updated:

      Source: ickyzombie.
Then there's some serious lore implications on the crossover ideas, with this one possibly being the greatest reveal in gaming:

      Source: NOHITJEROME.
Speaking of crossovers, there's more ideas for WoW in Halo, that Halo players might not be too happy about:

      Source: ExcellentTurnover780.
Sticking with Halo, we have less of a meme and more of just really awesome art and something Master Chief would totally do:
      "I need a weapon"

      Source: ThousandWinds.
The "new additions to WoW shop" theme continued as well, with a brand new 6-moth sub mount!

      Source: AwaxED.

And the crossover ideas didn't end with just Halo:

      Source: Upbeat_Ad2051.
Not all the images are flashy, however, as some players expect more subtle changes to come:
What my dumb caveman brain thinks the Microsoft takeover will mean for WoW

      Source: Ultiverse.
And then there's the just flat out silly ones:
Gates at the Gate of Gates.

      Source: SubjectDelta10.
And finally, one that probably conveys how a lot of players felt regarding the acquisition (although considering how it all ends for Theoden, perhaps not the best of outcomes):

Update: here's the official PTR info on the affix:
      S3 Mythic+ Affix (Source)
Mythic+ Affixes New Seasonal Affix: Encrypted – Enemies throughout the dungeon possess relics of the First Ones. Destroy the relics to summon the First Ones’ Automa and gain powerful bonuses, based on the order in which they were destroyed. ___________________________________________________
The new season 3 affix has been added to the PTR and datamined already, and it has a very interesting/weird name.
The affix is named "Encrypted", and it's actually possible that is its real name and not just a placeholder, considering the theme of Zereth Mortis and the First Ones "programming" the afterlives. Initially spotted by BlaringMailer, we poked MrGM to check it out for us as well and he obliged:

It's sounding similar to the current Tormented affix, but a little more interesting, mixing in an element of the 8.0 Infested affix, since it looks like it will be either hidden in specific trash packs or randomized among them, so there might be some interesting playmaking to be had with trash clears and routes!

The Ahead of the Curve mount that drops from the Jailer has also been revealed in this week's Patch 9.2 build.
Blizzard added two items that reveal the Ahead of the Curve mount for Eternity's End.
Carcinized Protoform - This item starts a quest and likely drops from the Jailer on Heroic difficulty and up. It grants you a quest which rewards a mount. Fractal Cypher of the Carcinized Zerethsteed - The actual mount that you'll get when you defeat the Jailer on Heroic difficulty (Ahead of the Curve: The Jailer). The few of these mysterious creatures that remain appear to be impossibly old, almost timeless. Perhaps they were created by the First Ones, because no schematic to synthesize these has yet been discovered.

Blizzard added four encrypted cinematics to the game in this week's 9.2 build.
All four cinematics are unfortunately encrypted, so we can't watch them yet. The only information available at this time is their file data ID and size.
Number File Data ID  Size 1 4279692 78 MB 2 4279697 39 MB 3 4279702 12 MB 4 4279707 25 MB I think the shortest one (12MB) will be used for a transition phase, maybe even during the Jailer fight. The longest one (78 MB) will be playing after we defeat the Jailer. That leaves us with two more cinematics. One of them will most likely play during the Week 1 Sepulcher raid finale after we defeat Anduin. The final one, I don't know.

Anduin Wrynn received a new in-game cinematic model in this week's update on the 9.2 PTR. This post contains spoilers.
It's clear that the new model was created for cinematic purposes. I think it will be used when we save him during Week 1 of the Sepulcher raid story. Anduin looks super sad there, though. Maybe he liked working for the Jailer after all.
