Shadowlands 9.0.5 Mythic+ DPS Log Rankings and Analysis, Weeks 12 and 13: Meta Specs Move Infront by a Huge Margin, Elemental Rises

Recommended Posts

We skipped our Mythic+ logs check-in last week, so we'll be taking a look at the past two weeks this time around, and there's been a lot of movement, mostly the top specs detaching themselves completely from the rest!

Note: The logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.

All Keys

The top ranks saw perhaps the largest pull-away from the top 3 specs, as Fire moved 20+% ahead of Windwalker in 4th and then about 30% ahead of everybody else these past 2 weeks, with Outlaw and Balance being only 5ish% behind Fire. Push weeks usually see the very meta classes get heavily focused, but this was the biggest and most glaring we've seen so far, with this most recent week calming things down a little. Other than that we see Elemental and Shadow push up 4 spots, into 5th and 6th, pushing Marksmanship and Assassination down. At the lower end we see Feral drop as Beast Mastery and Survival switch places.

In the broader player base, Marksmanship didn't move an inch remaining in its 5th spot, while Elemental still rose the same 4 spots, and Feral still fell towards the bottom.

High Keys

+15s actually remained quite stable these past 2 weeks, still with basically all specs being extremely close, with a little change at the top as Windwalkers took down Fury for 3rd. The other big movers were Arms and Affliction, as the Warrior dropped 6 and Warlock rose 4.

As it's been two weeks we most likely missed the traditional +20 swapping of the Subtlety ceremony, as it alternates from the literal top to bottom each week, and now we find it at the bottom again as it was 3 weeks ago, so we have to presume it was No.1 2 weeks ago. The rest of the top half is surprisingly stable, with the top 3 shuffling around a little, but we do see Shadow rise 4 spots into 4th.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides or our extensive Mythic+ guides as well, which have tier lists, dungeon rankings and more.

All DPS specs are very close in Mythics at roughtly equivalent ilvls. These articles do nothing but create toxicity in game.    There is more to just raw DPS, like interrupts, utility, etc.

You didn't read the thing ? It's wrote that it's not dps just points lmao. And check the first classes, they are surely the best utility classes of the game....

I think you're confusing people's perception of stats with stats themselves. If you want to blame someone/something, blame people not properly reading or understanding what the stats mean. Usually the M+ numbers are VERY close together, with these 2 weeks being the exception, and in +15s as I mentioned in the article itself, they're incredibly close, for literally all the specs. And as mentioned above, this isn't DPS, it's numbers for each spec that completed the key levels mentioned.

Taking a short break from Wow and from Mythic+ to play a few other games till the release of 9.1.  Just feel burnout from grinding Stygia, Anima, and Soul Ash.  And I'm still skeptical and worried about the changes to Mythic+ for 9.1 and the changing of Achievments for KSM.  But till then it's FFXIV, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, and Aion: Classic that is to release later this month.

War Within Alpha should be just around the corner! When do we expect the latest expansion testing to start?
If you've been keeping an eye on the World of Warcraft 2024 roadmap, you're likely excited about what's coming up! According to the roadmap, the War Within Alpha is expected to kick off sometime after Patch 10.2.6, which was released two weeks ago, and before the beginning of Season 4.

Typically, a season lasts 22 weeks. Right now, we're in the 20th week of Season 3, with just about two weeks left. Let's break down the hypothetical timeline:
Season 3 Week 20: Week of March 26 Season 3 Week 21: Week of April 2 Season 3 Week 22: Week of April 9 Season 4 Week 1: Week of April 15 This schedule suggests that the War Within Alpha could potentially launch as early as next week or during the week of April 9.
The most recent news from the War Within camp came on March 27, when Blizzard rolled out a fresh encrypted internal build on the WoW Dev CDN. The internal builds are becoming more and more frequent which indicates Blizzard's ramping up to start testing in the very near future.
Placeholder for tweet 1772901807448052151 In the meantime, we encourage you to check out everything coming in the War Within pre-patch that will release 1 month before the actual expansion.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
