Sargeras' Sword Object Found in Korthia

Recommended Posts

An object that looks like Sargeras' sword that is currently stuck in Silithus was spotted in Korthia.

We didn't learn much about the sword stabbed in Silithus after the Battle for Azeroth came to an end, let alone Legion. However, a player has recently spotted an object that looks similar to it in Korthia's Chamber of Wisdom and provided the following screenshot:

Apparently, the object is a prop used from the Night Fae play, but why it is placed in Korthia remains unknown. Some speculate that a level designer has put it there without a reason.

Do you think we will finally get a backstory for the giant sword in Silithus in Shadowlands?

Just a reminder, that Giant sword that was the whole reason for BFA occurring is still there, still killing the planet soul, still causing Azerite to bleed out.

But apparently we just got bored with that.

The corruption ended when we used our Artifact weapon to siphon it's power. Whole involvement of Magni was to stop bleeding and Azeroth is now free from "infection" AKA old gods.

Not true.   We stopped the "poison corruption" yes (that weird red energy) when we somehow improbably siphoned it off with the artifact weapons.   However the game text itself said that the sword was still wounding Azeroth, we just "bought some time".    That was the whole point of the neck, we were supposed to use the azerite power we stored there to heal the world.

Instead we freed N'zoth (whoops), then used it to fire a titan lazor at N'zoth.       But N'zoth was never really the problem until we freed him and didn't have anything to do with the sword wound.     It's like saying we took off the giant tick and cured the lyme disease it brought, but have done nothing to the stab wound of the patient who is still slowly bleeding out.

I love how everyone uses my screenshot of Sargeras' sword, you guys like that? Everyone uses this picture and I am the original creator of this image. I wanted to get the whole sword in one picture and fun fact this picture was taken before we siphoned our artifact weapons into or out of the sword, and I am actually in Tanaris in that photo.

Hey, sorry about that, I didn't know you were the author of the screenshot, but I added credit where it's due right after I saw your post.

You could have spent a few second double checking before crediting the liar.

I'm not sure if this person is mistaken or lying but that picture of Sargeras's sword is a screencap from the Antorus ending cinematic. You can check it and compare and its literally the same.

Some years later..... :

"Hey guys do you remember this awesome legendary 2 Hand Sword for Blood DK, it was so awesome, it could destroy whole planets man!"

.... Tales of the Fallen will be the name of the expansion, mainly named by its short version TF, which also could describe the reaction of people hearing about that.

hehehe .... 😄

Hot take: The Jailer seeks to turn the sword into a giant domination blade to control Azeroth.

Not quite such a hot take! But it is a hot theory!

Upon further review, the right portion of the image is indeed from the cinematic. Sorry about the initial confusion.

That theory raises the question again though of "Why the hell did we, Azeroth's defenders and chosen...just leave that Giant Sword in her belly while we focussed on mechagnomes, fish people and Nzoth?     How hard would it have been to approach the pantheon (who owe us a big favor) for help in saving their sister?     Or use all that Azerite we'd been collecting to actually destroy it?   Or at least throwing a nod to the ulduar keepers and such that might be able to help?

That we ended BFA as we did, completely ignoring the very unignorable Giant Flipping Sword that started it all, just speaks to how badly the writing team actually is doing these days.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.

      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
