Sanctum of Domination Mythic and Heroic DPS Log Rankings, Week 6: Fury Goes Crazy

Recommended Posts

130 guilds have cleaned up the Sanctum of Domination Mythic and many more are getting closer and closer to downing Sylvnas, so we're taking a look at the performance of the specs in there, with a VERY surprising twist No.1 in the all percentiles Mythic rankings! Also, surprise twist: the same spec is actually at the very bottom of Heroic rankings.

Mythic Rankings

The numbers are still somewhat fluctuating as more and more guilds hit higher and higher benchmarks, but we are getting some pretty stable stats now (aside from that No.1 all percentiles weirdness). One more thing to note before we get into the rankings is that some specs are still a little under-represented, which means their results will be less reliable and see spikes - this week we have Affliction, Survival, Feral and Outlaw as the big outliers with numbers as low as 240 (Surv), 860 (Affli) up to 1600.

So, what's happening at the top? Well, Windwalkers remain at their No.1 spot, although their lead is slipping, as Elemental catches up. We also have the Warlock twins moving past Arms, and the anomaly of the week, Fury, completing the top 5 and knocking its fellow brown spec out of place (but we'll get more into what exactly is happening with Fury in the next section). Marksmanship keeps its solid 7-8 spot as the rest of the top specs remain basically the same as last week. Arcane dropped quite a bit, however, perpetuating its "unstable" reputation as it drops like a rock from No.6 to 13. While two of the Warlock specs are living it up at the top, Destro is having another bad week as it moves closer and closer to the very bottom, now only 1 spot away from dead last.

The all percentiles bracket is where things get REALLY weird and interesting this week, however, as Fury has just taken over out of nowhere, claiming the top spot from a pretty steady middle of the pack existence. While we did see it steadily rise in the Sanctum as usual, since the spec always improves with more gear, and it surpassed Arms in the 95th percentiles as well, here in the more populist bracket it is just taking things over very suddenly. The big reason here is the relatively smaller log count (coming in at 1.8k compared to Arms' 14k), but it's still a pretty respectable one - except for one specific boss. This huge leap is at least in part due to the insane performance of 4 Warriors on Fatescribe, where they just destroyed the meters, pulling almost 12.6K DPS. As the weeks move on, it's likely more and more Warriors returned to Fury as the gear ceiling increased, as we did see some more logs for the spec this week compared to last. In terms of the two Warrior specs specifically, Fury has been catching up for quite a while now and this week isn't that unexpected (and that final drop/spike is only in the last couple of days):

In other all percentile news, Elemental has actually fallen there, unlike in the 95th, joined by Outlaw in the downwards trajectory, as they both made room for a rising Demonology.

Heroic Rankings

We'll take a look at the Heroic rankings quickly as well, since we already spent a lot of time on Mythic. The much more well-represented difficulty is extremely stable, with the top 9 being literally identical to last week, with Outlaw sneaking into 10th place. Interestingly/bizarrely, Fury is dead last in Heroic.

As always, if you want even more info on a spec, you can check out our class guides here, or for even more data, head on over to Warcraft Logs.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.
      (Source)
      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale

We've looked at the Mythic+ Tier List for the first time in Patch 10.2.6!
