Counduit Upgrade Changes FAQ

Blizzard have answered some questions linked to this week's coming changes to Counduit upgrade items, as they will become spec-specific with the reset (which you can read about here).

Blizzard LogoConduits (Source)

Hello everyone. Here are a few answers to some of your questions on the upcoming change:

It will now always pick conduits that fit your spec including generic covenant ones. So if you have all your conduits at 239 now and start using it after the change goes live tomorrow, it will only find your spec and covenant ones to upgrade further to 252. You would need to change spec to get the other ones to increase.

Additionally, the upgrade item will not function if all the conduits for your specialization are upgraded. The item will remain in your bags for you to use after changing specs.

The drop percentage does increase with Torghast level.

The Death-Bound Shard can only drop once a week in the Adamant Vaults.

I am happy that we got these questions answered but they should really make their stuff more clear.
There is still not a single "real" proper guide on Shards/Stygian Embers etc
It would be REALLY nice if we actually knew how these things work BEFORE they go live.
The fact that 9,1 launched some time ago and people are still unsure about a ton of things is horrible.

But I am again still happy that we got some response from Blizz and I hope they work WAY closer together with these community-sites, this is stuff that we direly need as a ton of information stems from gathered experiences and varies from guide to guide which shouldnt be a thing, especially for new players.

Also the fact that it is 1 not-guaranteed, random Conduit UPGRADE, that has a weekly lockout is just not possible.
We pay so much money each month and can literally only get 4 and I have to highlight this again UPGRADES to random (now specc specific at least)  conduits.
Especially for people who play multiple specs and even more so for Druid players like me, this is literally nothing.
There is absolutely no reason for a weekly-lockout from something this tiny, same with tower-knowledge.
Timegates should only be on the most important and impactful powergains like Raid-Lockout / Vault etc, just let people play the damn game and have fun 😕

Not that I have any at the moment, but does this change affect conduit upgrade items (Korthia item brings you to 226, Torghast up to 252) that existed prior to reset? I know often times due to the limitations of object creation, that changes like this typically only affect items created after the change goes live.

The way it has been working for me and I wrote in the Torghast guide, pending deployment currently, is that you can just spam Adamant Vaults until you get your Death Bound Shard of the week, and from then on you can only get cosmetics.

So while not guaranteed, I have been consistently getting it in one of my two weekly runs, and the drop rate doesn't seem bad at all if you are consistently making it to the Vaults 🙂

But yeah, still missing 15 or so to fully upgrade every conduit, its a slow progress.

Yeah it is very sad that we just cant get short and clear info about how these systems work and community sites have to somehow gather individual information and build that stuff which is just sad.
As a druid that whole system is just so depressing.
I just cant stand all of the rng on top of rng on top of rng anymore, it really is a plague.
Still thanks a lot for your guy's effort to somehow piece things together!

In their continued effort to remove inappropriate references from the game, Blizzard desexualized two paintings in this week's Patch 9.1.5 Build 40196.
The first in-game painting of a woman was completely replaced with a fruit painting. We compare both paintings below.
      Old 9.1.0 Painting

      New 9.1.5 Painting

The second painting is an update that adds more armor and fidelity.
      Old 9.1.0 Painting

      New 9.1.5 Painting

Blizzard continues to remove inappropriate references from the game. In Patch 9.1.5 alone, they renamed multiple achievements, Mac'Aree to Eredath, and more.
