Think of the Critters Quest Quick Tips and Macro

Recommended Posts

Players have recently been having quite a bit of trouble/frustration with the Think of the Critters daily Korthia quest, but luckily some have found the best ways to complete it and shared them!

We have some basic and some slightly advanced tips here, from just not moving when the bird shows up, to a macro to speed up the feeding process, and well, one "tip" that really showcases players frustration with this one:

Korthia Daily: Think of the Critters- A few tips.
First, after you get the gromit's attention and are close enough to start giving treats, don't move. I discovered that as long as you don't move when the razorwings attack, and stay fixed, the gromit doesn't seem to spook.
Secondly, avoid spamming the treat button. This seems to cause the gromit to lose interest quicker and run away. Try to space out your clicking.
I hope this helps you guys, it seemed to work for me. - FishesWithDynamite
...
Here's a macro to complete "Think about the critters" in 5 minutes
Since blizzard thought it would've been "fun" to give this quest again, I thought I won't spend another hour on it, so I made this macro
/target Hungry Gromit
/click ExtraActionButton1
spam this as soon as you kill the razorwing, replace "Hungry Gromit" if you play the game in another language and leave the rest as it is.
This will make your life a lot easier. - JQKAndrei
...
The one tip to rule them all: Abandon the quest. - JonTheCatMan11

And finally here's a helpful video for the basics of the quest:

Hopefully this helps some players out, but generally when a quest start really annoying you, it's best to either leave it and come back later, or just abandon it - it's definitely not worth your frustration.

This.
As Blizzard generally ignores "complaints" and choose to believe things such as "Despite players' complaints, the quest completion rate for Think of the Critters is overwhelming", I believe it is best to reciprocate Blizzard with a metric they understand, i.e.: "The completion rate for said quest is abysmal." 😜
Same reason I am not going to support things such as Reforged/Remastered/Repaint/Re-whatever. I gave Warcraft 3 a chance once, not only did they screwed it up but it just encouraged them to do it again instead of churning out new content. (Starcraft 1 / Warcraft 3 / WOW Classic / Diablo Immortal / Diablo 2).
Food for thought: When a new game project is created, the profits generated are "theoretically" distributed among the contributors such as programmers/graphics design etc. But when something is repainted, if the new product is still using old program codes, so where do the profits that should be rightfully awarded to the previous programmers go? 🙄
But I digress, forgive my complaints and abandon the quest.

Definitely feels like the quest is annoying because of what I hope is a bug. The bird comes down after every treat so you have to kill 3-4 for every critter (who still might run away). Takes ages and I imagine they only want one to come down at some point while feeding but it's coded wrong.

Either way, did it once, not planning on touching the quest again. It'lll be a skip.

Now I realize this wont help everyone, but for me as BM Hunter Feign Death skill does make quest faster and easier, as long as you don't move spawned mobs won't attack you again

Sometimes the bird might even land after last treat for that critter. Not sure if intended, possibly it's a bug as well.

Undaunted, the deaf and hard-of-hearing Warcraft guild, have completed Ahead of the Curve: Sylvanas Windrunner. Congratulations!
Undaunted is at it again! The guild earned AotC Denathrius and cleared 3/10 Mythic Castle Nathria on March 26, 2021. Yesterday, a post on Reddit revealed that they now downed Sylvanas on Heroic difficulty. Now, Mythic difficulty awaits. We wish them the best of luck! Here is a screenshot of the guild shared on Reddit.

In something that has now become a new WoW tradition, players have been gathering to celebrate the end of Summer as we now have a very thematic seasonal clock in the game! The circle is complete as we've now seen all 4 variations of the mount in-game as well.
While WoW is pretty static when it comes to seasons and, well, time in general, we now have a really cool connection to the real world in the form of the Wandering Ancient tree mount, so we'll be seeing gatherings like these below a lot!

      Source: Galaxy_119.
And some will be showing the tree off in its natural habitat, proving that even ancients can be VERY stealthy in the right conditions:

      Source: drinnster.
The Wandering Ancient is really awesome and adds extra interactivity and "feel" of the world - definitely one of the better additions to WoW in recent memory and we hope to see these little changing of seasons rituals continue on forever!
In case you're new or missed when the mount arrived, it should be in your mount collection tab already as  gift if you have Shadowlands purchased, now head on out there and showcase the new Fall colors!
