Shandris and Tyrande Epilogue in Patch 9.1

Recommended Posts

7Bf9dZa.jpg

We're looking at the "Stay Awhile and Listen" option that becomes available between Shandris and Tyrande after you complete the 9.1 story in Chains of Domination.

Shandris and Tyrande talk about Elune and the Burning of Teldrassil.

Shandris Feathermoon: When Teldrassil burned, I could not understand why the goddess did not intervene. Why she would allow so many to be lost.

Shandris Feathermoon: But I did not know of Ardenweald. Of the duty and purpose that awaited the souls of our people. At least... before the Maw.

Tyrande Whisperwind: Perhaps we can never truly know the ways of the gods, my daughter. But I believe Elune made a choice to aid her sister. Not to cause us sorrow.

Tyrande Whisperwind: A cycle the kaldorei must now rejoin. No more looking to the past. It is time to embrace our future.

Tyrande Whisperwind: It was not until I heard Elune's voice that I recognized the grief buried beneath my anger. Sorrow intertwined with a deep sense of betrayal.

Thanks to Nobbel87 for the in-game screenshots.

"A cycle the kaldorei must now rejoin."

So . . . did Tyrande just decide for the rest of the night elves that they need to start dying faster? Hey, they are doing great at that already!

More likely she's referring to all those millennia of immortality where the night elves contributed almost nothing to Ardenweald.

Can't say i like it.

Sure, elune's actions make some sense, but it ends up to the Night Warrior arc amounting to nothing. It may as well not have happened. One night warrior defeated an old god invasion, tyrande... Moped about the Maw for two patches.

Also, zero commpenpance for sylavas by tyrande just feels wrong. The story is going in a way that its unlikely we'll get it, but thats exactly why it feels bad.

Elune's actions only makes sense if she has a Very hard time seeing into the shadowlands...which seems a bit off.    She's an actual deity, and other deities/powers have come to the shadowlands before (IE the Light invasion as one example, also bwonsamdi, the Nelf allied spirits like poor old ursoc, etc etc).

In short there's obviously methods of communication open, Ardenweald was able to call to her for aid at a minimum about a drought of souls coming to Ardenwield.   That Elune would just "Welp, better send even moar souls!" rather than wonder why the souls were being cut off or if her nelf souls would have the same thing happening to them...seems a bit gimmicky and hamfisted.    If she had successfully torn a hole in the fabric and sent the Nelf souls directly to Ardenweald, and we found that that allowed them to barely hang on, that would have made a whole lot more sense.

In their continued effort to remove inappropriate references from the game, Blizzard desexualized two paintings in this week's Patch 9.1.5 Build 40196.
The first in-game painting of a woman was completely replaced with a fruit painting. We compare both paintings below.
      Old 9.1.0 Painting

      New 9.1.5 Painting

The second painting is an update that adds more armor and fidelity.
      Old 9.1.0 Painting

      New 9.1.5 Painting

Blizzard continues to remove inappropriate references from the game. In Patch 9.1.5 alone, they renamed multiple achievements, Mac'Aree to Eredath, and more.
