New Item Upgrade User Interface in Patch 9.1.5

Recommended Posts

Blizzard has refined the item upgrade UI in Patch 9.1.5.

You can either drag the items you want to upgrade into the green "+" slot or click on it for a list of items that are eligible for an upgrade to show up.

You can preview upgrade costs and stat differences, skip upgrade ranks, and more in Patch 9.1.5. The new UI contains information such as upgrade costs (how much currency is needed to upgrade an item), stat differences, and more. You can even skip ranks and upgrade directly to max rank.

Continuing to make the UI more controller friendly - honestly, if they could nail it, adding full controller functionality (with no add on) would be huge in getting new players. The mouse and keyboard setup is very daunting for a lot of gamers across many generations.

Also one step closer to getting WOW on consoles, which would be another huge way to grow and sustain subscribers. Imagine WOW on the Switch, with your handheld screen being your mini map and other HUD stuff, leaving your screen free for gameplay elements!

for some classes i struggle to find enough key- or mous-bindings for all abilities, trinkets or talents i need. my last console was a play station 1 and a xbox 360, did the controllers evolve that much, that you could fit all your bindings somewhere on it now?

I hope they never do, and if they do, I hope they will indicate to normal people when they will played with such people..

looks cool but if i didnt miss something he just covered up 20 abilities. basically barely enough bindings for that boss. im not playing elemental shaman but i can say that hes missing BL, stun, slow and anti fear totem, frog, purge and also no button for on use trinkets.

for my chars i would need like 25-30 bindings for in fight situation, depending on the class/race. in that case i would have to "click" everything else like buffs, bufffood and abilities you dont need in fight

There are 4 face buttons, 4 d-pad buttons, and two bumper buttons. That's 10 buttons showing; with left, right, and both triggers together acting as modifiers you can bind 40 different actions to the buttons alone, and this does not factor in the back, start, and click-stick buttons on all modern controllers.

Here is a better video showing all the key binds and using more of the tool kit:

I completely agree, but only given that they don't affect the mouse/keyboard functionality. Even a game like ESO I tried playing with controllers, but it just doesn't cut it. MMOs are way more efficient with mouse and keyboard. Controllers are chill, and I very much endorse having them enabled for any game - when you desire chill gameplay, but in arenas or top end raiding - I just can't see how it wil ever compete.

Executive Producer Holly Longdale teased some upcoming experimental PvE-focused content that Blizzard will soon reveal to the community.
It appears that Plunderstorm isn't the only new mode Blizzard plans to add to WoW this year.
Holly Longdale today teased an upcoming PvE-oriented event that will soon be revealed to us. Holly might be talking about the "Timerunning Pandamonium," expected in Patch 10.2.7.
      (Source)
      Greetings Citizens of Azeroth,
It’s been great seeing so many players taking the plunge into Plunderstorm and we’ve loved seeing all of the stories and feedback as this experimental event evolves. It will be exciting to see some of the community content creators going head-to-head as duos during the Plunderstorm Creator Royale on March 30!  This isn’t the end of the things we want to try in World of Warcraft, however, and we have more in store we can’t wait to show you.
Dragonflight Season 4 is in route as testing begins on the PTR and we’ll have more news to share soon™ on the next experiment we have up our sleeves. We hope those of you who are looking for PvE focused content will enjoy what we’re planning, all while we continue to press forward on development of our next expansion for World of Warcraft— The War Within.
We can’t wait to share with you all the many things the team has been hard at work on.
With gratitude and excitement for what we’ll do together next,
      Holly Longdale
