In addition to releasing a notice about player compensation due to the ongoing server congestion, Square Enix has updated the following post regarding known issues occurring during Endwalker's early access period.

The post now explains an issue in which players are automatically logged out during the ending credits of previous expansions.

Additionally, Director Naoki Yoshida has stated that completing the Main Scenario Questline does not provide enough EXP to hit max level, for which he apologizes.

Hello, this is FINAL FANTASY XIV Producer & Director, Naoki Yoshida.

Thank you for participating in Early Access for Endwalker.

We are currently experiencing the highest level of server congestion we have ever encountered since the game officially commenced its service. Please read the following news for our findings and responses to various confirmed issues.

▼Endwalker Congestion and World Status in Early Access
https://sqex.to/4gIlO

We will be using this announcement to share information about issues that have a high impact or are highly visible and our responses to them. The situation is constantly evolving, so we will be updating this announcement periodically to keep players informed.

■ Automatic logout due to inactivity during ending credits (Updated: Dec. 5, 2:30 a.m. PST)

We have received reports of players being automatically logged out during the ending credits of A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, or Shadowbringers due to 30 minutes of inactivity. Upon investigation, we discovered that the procedure for avoiding automatic logout was missing for these ending credits, for which I am truly sorry. As for the ending credits of Endwalker, this procedure is included and you will not be logged out for inactivity during its duration.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but when viewing the ending credits for A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers, we ask that you press a button on your controller, press a key on your keyboard, or click with your mouse. By doing so before 30 minutes pass, you will be able to reset the automatic logout timer. Please also note that simply moving your mouse cursor will not prevent automatic logout.

We are working on implementing a patch to address this issue as soon as possible and kindly ask for your patience.

■EXP from main scenario quests in Endwalker (Added: Dec. 5, 2:30 a.m. PST)

In an interview conducted before the release of Endwalker, I said you could reach the level cap for one job by playing the main scenario quest. However, we have been receiving feedback from players pointing out that the main quest scenario does not reward sufficient amount of EXP to reach the level cap. I deeply apologize for the carelessness of my statement and the confusion caused by it.

We have been balancing EXP gain by taking into account EXP obtained by completing main quest scenarios, completing duties from main quest scenarios, first time completion of duties, average rested bonus, and mapping the realm, so that level cap could be achieved by progressing through the main quest. However, our calculations were slightly off even with the considerations above.

The team test played the update several times over, but due to last minute adjustments made to various content, a small margin of error occurred. We apologize for the issue caused by this. In addition, because of my ambiguous statement that specifically mentioned by playing the main scenario quest, I think many players believe that level cap can be achieved through EXP rewarded through quests alone. Again, I deeply apologize for the confusion my statement caused.

Besides main scenario quests, additional EXP can be gained to reach level cap faster by completing aether current attunement quests and duty roulettes two to three times on top of the main scenario quests. The actual amount may vary slightly depending on your rested bonus, but we’d be grateful if you could consider doing this.

This is a balancing issue rather than a bug but was exacerbated by my own careless comment. Once again, I apologize for the confusion.

■Issues with dyeing paladin’s 5.0 job-specific gear

We are receiving reports that the color of the dye used is not reflected in the following paladin’s 5.0 job-specific gear when they are dyed.

  • Idealized Chevalier's Cuirass
  • Idealized Chevalier's Gauntlets
  • Idealized Chevalier's Poleyns
  • Idealized Chevalier's Sollerets

We apologize for the inconvenience this is causing.

Upon investigating the issue, we discovered that material data was inadvertently replaced for some gear during the fix to address caving and piercing issues when only the modeling should have been changed. This resulted in the dye color not being reflected in the graphics of the above gear. The color data for the dye itself is correctly registered, but the issue is preventing it from displaying.

We will address this by replacing the data for the affected gear in patch 6.01. While dyeing a piece of gear will register the color data on the gear, you will not be able to see it reflected in-game. Therefore, we ask players to refrain from dyeing the above pieces of gear until the issue is addressed in Patch 6.01.

We have seen cases where this issue does not occur with certain races and genders, but we would like to announce it nonetheless to prevent confusion.

■Movement issues with NPCs accompanying the player in certain quests

We are receiving reports that NPCs accompanying the player in certain quests introduced with Patch 6.0 are seen standing on water or floating in the air.

We have confirmed that this issue only occurs when an extremely large number of players are present in a single area, which causes the system to attempt to cull the number of NPCs in that area. The client will have to be patched to fix the root cause, so we kindly ask for more time to address this. If you encounter this issue, taking the steps below may likely resolve it. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

① Adjust the position of your character until the NPC loads properly.
② Stop the NPC from accompanying you by using the Aethernet or some other means of teleportation, and then have that NPC accompany you again.

We have confirmed that the affected NPC will acquire the correct coordinates and load back into the intended location once the high server load subsides. We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing and thank you for your understanding.

We will continue to announce issues that have a high impact or are highly visible through this news.

Players from all across the world have responded to the recently released Dawntrail benchmark, with both positive and negative feedback. This led Yoshi-P to address the issues and provide additional information. Here is what you need to know!
      Character Creation System Concerns:
Yoshi-P said that the character creation system in the Benchmark, created over ten years ago, is still based on "A Realm Reborn." While it employs the same processes as the actual game, certain aspects, such as weather, were combined to create conditions unique to character creation. These were based on the texture resolutions and shaders of the standard quality at the time of ARR, including the PS3 version. Unfortunately, this approach did not adequately showcase the upcoming graphical update.
Moreover, Yoshi-P acknowledges that updating the character creation environment was overlooked due to the prioritization of Dawntrail's development and extends his sincere apologies.
      Upcoming Improvements:
The FFXIV team is currently reworking the environment and light sources for character creation in both the actual game and the benchmark. Once completed, the benchmark will be updated, and the following issues will be addressed:
"Lifeless" eyes due to a lack of highlights in the pupils. Facial contours appearing flattened due to incorrect lighting conditions caused by backlighting. A lack of gloss or excessive appearance of gloss due to character creation-exclusive weather conditions (i.e. the use of thunderclouds). Additional Issues:
Players have also identified issues related to specific data and processes. Yoshi-P assures that these are being addressed during the finalization of Dawntrail’s development. However, these issues will remain in the Benchmark due to data-related errors, including:
An issue with unimplemented high-resolution textures, including those for certain playable races. An issue pertaining to special data processes. An issue with necklines for playable races under certain circumstances. An issue with uncorrected scaling for the mouth of certain playable races Yoshi-P asks for players' patience as the team works to resolve these issues, which will be corrected for Dawntrail's release.
      Benchmark Replacement:
As stated, the Dawntrail benchmark will be replaced once the issues are resolved. Further information on the benchmark's replacement will be released in the future.
The FFXIV team is actively incorporating player feedback to refine Dawntrail's release version, so please continue to share your thoughts across various social media platforms!
If you want to read Yoshi-P's full statement, head here: An Update on the Dawntrail Official Benchmark
And if you have not done so yet, we recommend you download the official benchmark software to ensure your PC is ready for launch!

With the return of the Yo-Kai event, it is once again time to catch them all and get your hands on original weapons, mounts, and minions, as well as a brand new framer’s kit!
The beloved Yo-Kai Watch Event is coming back to Eorzea from April 24, 2024, at 8:00 AM GMT (6:00 PM AEST) until the release of Patch 7.0.
This event will be identical to the previous ones, but with one additional reward: a framer's kit. The quest cannot be taken again if you have already completed it, but you can still earn Yo-Kai medals while equipped with the Yo-Kai Watch! And if you have lost your watch, it can be repurchased from the recompense officers in major cities.
For this event, start by picking up the quest from the NPC "Poor-heeled Youth" in Ul'dah!

Once the quest is completed, you will receive your first Yo-Kai watch. With this watch, you will be able to earn Yo-Kai medals from various content:
Fates in La Noscea, The Black Shroud and Thanalan Fates in All regions of Heavensward Fates in All regions of Stormblood You will need to complete the FATES with either a silver or gold rating to receive medals at the end, and we suggest you team up with other players to make farming more enjoyable.
Once you have collected enough medals, you can then exchange them for Yo-Kai minions at the Gold Saucer's wandering executive.

There are a total of 17 different minions to collect, all of which are listed on this page: Yo-kai Watch: Gather One, Gather All!
After exchanging 13 minions, you will receive the Whisper-go mount!

Once you befriend all 17 minions, you can speak with Nohi at the Gold Saucer (X:5.2 Y:6.9) and purchase a brand new Yo-Kai watch framer's kit with MGP.
Additionally, once all minions have been collected, you will be able to gather legendary Yo-Kai medals. These medals allow you to acquire different weapons; one weapon corresponds to each minion. Participating and completing the same Fates with the corresponding minion summoned will reward special Yo-Kai medals, which you can then exchange for the desired weapon.

For example, if you want the Paw of the Crimson Cat weapon, you will need to complete Fates while equipped with Jibanyan. Occasionally, the Fate will reward you with legendary Jibanyan medals, which can then be exchanged for the weapon at the Gold Saucer's wandering executive. There are a total of 17 weapons to collect, one for each minion.
After collecting 13 weapons, you will receive the Whisper-a-go-go mount, and after obtaining all 17 weapons, you will receive the Jibanyan Couch mount!

As collecting medals can be quite challenging, Kaiyoko on Twitter/X has shared a personal guide that can help you identify which Fates to complete to get all the weapons you need:

With the Benchmark now available, players have been busy testing their PCs, and some have already discovered an interesting new detail within the Benchmark!
Many players have gone over the Dawntrail Benchmark cutscenes, particularly the gear and weapons that can be equipped on the character featured in the cutscene.
In doing so, some have noticed that certain Viper weapons bear a resemblance to older weapons. For instance, as mentioned by Eksu Plosion on Twitter/X, different weapons for the Dreadwyrm and Omega sets can be seen in the Benchmark.
The pressing question is: does this mean we will be able to obtain weapons from old ultimate fights or other older raids for the new Jobs?

Yoshi-P did mention a desire to re-evaluate the rewards from various content, suggesting this could be a possibility. It would be a welcome addition to acquire new job weapons, even if it is just for the purpose of using them as weapon glams, as some of them look really nice.
It is of course possible that these are merely new leveling weapons, but for now, the question remains unanswered! As the community speculates, only time will reveal the true nature of these newly found details.
