FFXIV Jumping Puzzles and Where to Find Them

Recommended Posts

This post is for those who need to make it to the top. Literally.

If you’re anything like me, sometimes sitting and waiting in a queue for a dungeon or trial can get dull. Maybe you’ve already checked the market board via your retainer, you’ve adjusted your glamour yet again, and you’ve finally made your 983rd lap around the markets in Limsa Lominsa. Perhaps you’re a completionist, trying to fill out every menu and checklist in the game.

For those looking for something a little more engaging during the downtime, or those looking to complete their Sightseeing Log, there are actually a number of jumping puzzles hidden throughout the game! Here’s a list of them below and pictures of where to find their starting points. Coordinates included!

The easiest jumping puzzle to find - and arguably the longest and most difficult in the game - the tower of the Shiokaze Hostelry lets you ascend to the highest point in the Stormblood city and take all kinds of fun screenshots. Simply go up the stairs to the second level of the Shiokaze Hostelry, walk out onto the red bridge, and look for the wooden peg pictured above. The first of many. Make it to the top, and you’ll certainly have earned bragging rights.

BOKAIRO INN (KUGANE - 9.8, 7.9)2022-01-23-12-50-59-487-Johto-s-Studio4.

Another platforming path in Kugane, this one is considerably shorter and easier than the first. Perhaps the most fun thing about this jumping puzzle is how many ways there are to solve it! Run across rooftops, sprint over hanging ropes, you’ll definitely feel like a Ninja climbing this one.

The easiest way I’ve found to start this one is to travel to the Bokairo Inn in Kugane. Before entering the building, hop on the stone fence to the right and the rooftop behind it, pictured above. Make it to the top of this jumping puzzle to find some hidden hot springs!

Yet another Far Eastern peak to conquer, the lighthouse in the player-housing district of Shirogane is just begging to be climbed. Shirogane is full of fun nooks and crannies to explore, but this one by far takes the cake.

When you enter the housing district from Kugane, simply look to the left to see the Lighthouse in the distance. Swim around to the far end of the stone island it’s on, and you’ll see a tiny little ramp you can run up until you find more wooden pegs to leap across.

Stormblood got a lot of love when it came to platforming! This puzzle is pretty tiny compared to the others but is no less challenging or rewarding.

Simply run to the back-end of the lake in Rhalgr’s Reach for the archways and pillars reaching into the water. On the back of the pillar on land, you’ll see several small stone platforms for you to ascend. Make it to the end of the archways, and wave hello to Rhalgr himself!

When the development team added The Firmament in Shadowbringers, they added an immense amount of content tuned specifically for crafters and gatherers alike, giving players the opportunity to make progress toward the Ishgard housing zone. Even an expansion later, folks are still laboring away at their chosen jobs for scrip rewards or a bit of extra gil.

But as the Firmament progressed, that’s not all they added.

On the eastern edge of the Firmament, you’ll find three towers. Each tower’s jumping puzzle is identical, so conquer one and you’ve conquered them all. Simply run to the edge, hop up on the bricks at the base, and you’ll find - you guessed it - more wooden pegs.

PAKSA'S PATH (RADZ-AT-HAN - 9.3, 14.1)

The development team couldn’t leave out the most colorful city in Endwalker from the list of locations to jump around in. Jumping puzzles can give a thrilling sense of the player being somewhere you’re not supposed to be, and that feels the case in Radz-at-Han!

At the city’s entrance is a fountain. Behind that fountain is a set of stairs. Go up the stairs and keep to the left as you run straight, and eventually you’ll come upon a stack of crates and some bright pink platforms that will lead you upward! Make it to the top, and you’ll be above Ruveydah Fibers in some pretty neat gardens!

For those of you itching for more, Square Enix occasionally adds a pretty substantial jumping puzzle for their summer Moonfire Festival event. It isn’t an annual thing, but it’s something to look out for.

Just as well, the Gold Saucer hosts a “Leap of Faith” event multiple times a day that offers two different locales to leap about in; and the puzzle is different each time!

How many of these puzzles have you conquered? Are there any you didn’t even know were in the game? Are there any you’ve found that I missed? If so, be sure to share them!

Good luck, and happy hopping!

The Final Fantasy XIV Hairstyle Design contest was held for A Realm Reborn’s 10th anniversary, and it has been filled with lots of wonderful art from players all around the world. In fact, the Final Fantasy team has been so amazed by all the innovative hairstyles, that they increased the number of winning entries from 30 to 40 players.
Here are some of the winning entries:

If you wish to see all 40 winning entries, you can check out the official announcement.
One of the winning entries might be chosen by Square Enix to be added to the game in a future update. However, this is not guaranteed. Also, your entry might still have a chance to be selected even if you are not among the 40 winners. But please note that the development team might need to modify the hairstyle design to make it suitable for all the characters in the game.
The 40 winners will be rewarded with Fat Cat Earrings during November 2023. The prize will be sent through Moogle post in game, on the character selected during the submission process.

Congratulations to the 40 winners of the Final Fantasy XIV Hairstyle Contest! And of course, to all the participants as well! The Hairstyle creations are amazing, and we hope to see some of them in the game soon!

Don’t miss this chance to upgrade your game to the collector’s editions of each expansion and get exclusive in-game items such as mounts, weapons, and more. The sale ends on December 8, 2023.
Final Fantasy XIV fans can now enjoy the collector’s editions of each expansion for a 50%-discount. The editions include exclusive in-game items such as weapons, minions, mounts, and more.
The sale is available since Friday, 24 November 2023 until Friday, 8 December 2023 at 7:00 (GMT) / 18:00 (AEDT).
Upgrading your game’s version to the collector’s edition is a way for you to enjoy unique and rare items that are only available through this option. For example, the "Endwalker" collector’s edition includes a majestic paladin mount and a Death Scythe weapon for the Reaper job, while the "A Realm Reborn" edition includes the famous Fat Chocobo.

You can either purchase the bundle or a specific expansion to upgrade to the collector’s edition, if you only want to get some of the items.
However, please note that if you already have one of the digital collector’s editions on your service account, you cannot access the bundle purchase, and you have to upgrade each expansion individually.
To upgrade to the collector’s edition, visit the Final Fantasy XIV: Mog Station, and select the option to upgrade.

Then, select the bundle or the specific expansion you want to upgrade to the collector edition, and proceed to check-out. Afterward, you will receive a confirmation email, and the collector edition will appear on your service account. It may take some time to receive the items in-game.
Be aware that this does not including the game expansion. This system is only available for players who already bought the game and the expansions, and simply wish to upgrade their normal versions to the collector editions.
The Mog Station digital upgrade system is the only way for you to get the items if you already have the game, so don’t miss out on this chance to get them for a very low price.

Participate in the upcoming Cloud Data Center Stress Test from 21 to 28 November and assist the Final Fantasy Team in expanding their server infrastructure.
To cope with the increasing demand for server capacity, Square Enix is working on creating a cloud data center solution that would allow players to access the game from anywhere in the world.
A cloud data center is a virtual server structure that is hosted on the internet, rather than on physical hardware. This means that anyone can connect to the game without being limited by their real life location. Cloud data centers also offer potential improvements to the game’s performance and stability.
In order to test how the server will do in a public service environment, players will be able to participate in the Cloud Data Center Stress Test, and give their feedback to the FFXIV team. The test will run from Tuesday, 21 November, to Tuesday, 28 November. For now, the server is located in North America (East Coast), but players from all over the world can participate. Keep in mind, though, that you might experience latency if you are not located in North America.
In order to participate, you must create a new character on the Cloud Data Center. The Data Center selection screen can be accessed from the title screen, where you will have to choose the NA Cloud DC (Beta) - CloudTest01 or CloudTest02, and then create a character to start the game!

Characters created on this server will receive 50 million Gil, as well as a copy of Tales Of Adventures: Shadowbringers, and Tales of Adventure III (level 80), for each job to instantly access as many in-game features as possible. You will be able to explore every content existing in the game, there are no limits!
Keep in mind, that all characters created on this Cloud Server, will be deleted when the test ends.
If you have any feedback regarding the stress test, you can post on the official forum threads.
For further details, please head over to the official information post.
The Cloud Data Center Stress test is a unique opportunity for players to experience the game in a different way, and to contribute to the improvement of the server infrastructure. By participating in the test, players will help Square Enix evaluate the feasibility and performance of the cloud data center solution, which could potentially enhance the game’s quality and accessibility for players around the world.
The test is open to everyone, regardless of region or platform. So don’t miss this chance to join the test and have fun with the FFXIV community!
