Dracthyr Will Have Bulkier Cusomizations, Visible Armor and More

In an interview with BlizzPlanet, associate art director Tina Wang talked about Dracthyr customization and how we haven't seen all of it, most importantly that there will be "slightly" bulkier versions of the race that were not presetned, which is a major issue for some players at the moment. We also learned that there will be some armor items visible while in Dracthyr form and that you have to be in that form when casting spells/using abilities.

Here's the full question:

Greg Burke: So regardless of how the new race looks, will we be able to play our mage-like abilities in and out of human and Draco form, or are we going to be permanently stuck in Draco form when we’re in combat?

Tina Wang: You are all going to be in Dracthyr form when you are in combat. Yes. But let me talk about the Dracthyr and their customizations. There is more customization than what you saw in the video. there’s actually so many ways that you can customize that Dracthyr. Even the shape of the face. You can have, like these snouts that can look more ancient, or more sleek, or like a more blunt.

You can even slightly change your torso to be like slightly more slender or slightly bulkier; and the armor that you wear is a type of armor that you will be able to customize at the Barbershop, too. So Dracthyr, I think they’ll also be able to wear shoulders, tabards, belts across their visage and Dracthyr form. While the visage form is able to wear all-armor.

We don't quite know what "slightly bulkier" means or what it looks like, so hopefully those that feel the currently shared looks aren't the best will be satisfied, and that we'll get to see these alternate versions sooner rather than later.

Head on over to BlizzPlanet for the full interview.

That is a misleading title.

I was relieved to hear "visible armour", until I read they just mean a single model onto the torso.

Come on, what the hell is this? They won't even put in the effort to wear armour on Dracthyr? WORGEN were given the ability to display their armour, because the concept of NOT having that would have baffled the players back then!

This is a hero class! You can't afford to be lazy, Blizzard. Put in the work and display their armour!

So it's a Mechagnome situation again, where only parts of armor are visible. It's also a letdown how they are locked into Dracthyr form during combat (why not allow to choose at will, so everyone won't look the same?).

This. its a major let down for me to hear that and will absolutlly lessen my excitment for them. as me and my guild mates said today it would be so much cooler to have the option and even tho some of there abilitys will need a draconic body you could have the option to go the demonhunter way and let me only take the form when an ability really needs my body to be that of a drake or just go for partial transformation and only change my head to spit fire or just let me sproud wings like the demonhunters

Emphasis.

Also tbh it actually doesn't make sense to complain about dragon form only while in combat, since Blizzard made it clear that their combat style involves use of wings for strafing, wing buffets, and their breath weapons and such too.   That'd all look pretty bad on a blood elf model.

I still don't know why they made the visages so creepy looking, but that's possibly just a me thing.

What's not a me thing is that I know the majority will be spending their time in Dracthyr form, anyway - so not being able to wear your armour in that form is going to be a source of incredible frustration.

I raised the same fuss with Mechagnome, but I don't think anyone really cared, because... gnome.

Well you guys have taken notice now it's a dragon.

Exactly! I even joked here when they were released how all Mechagnome fans are pleased with their release (all 10 of them).

They can easily make Dracthyr more appealing by allowing them to fight in their humanoid form (which should be more than male blood elves and female humans) or by showing more armor in their dragon forms. Otherwise they are going to look pretty much the same next to each other, except for skin color.

Last week we made the big switch to focus on Mythic logs and today we're going to be taking a look at the tank and healer situation in the maximum difficulty for the Sepulcher, as well as our usual DPS roundup.
      Mythic
      95th Percentile
Destruction moves even further ahead in Mythic this week, as we see some additional movement in the top 3, with Frost DK dropping 2 spots to Demonology and Survival. There's actually been a lot of 2-spot moves this week, starting with Windwalker's rise to 6th, moving past Elemental and Retribution, who are having a bad week as Unholy also slapped them both down to move into 8th, but at least they stay in the top 10 (and swap places). Havoc remains firm at No.10, with Frost taking the Mage crown and finishing the week in 11th. The bottom remains much the same, with only Assassination managing to crawl out of there, rising 5 spots!

95th percentile Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
A very firm top 5 in the generalist bracket as we see no changes from  last week, but then a bit of a reverse from the high percentiles as Unholy drops 1 spot to Marksmanship. Havoc is just as stable here, but a little bit higher up, with Windwalker and Retribution closing out the top 10.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Tank DPS and Healer HPS
While tank DPS isn't exactly the most crucial stat there is, we at least have something to compare them with here, so let's take a look. Guardian has stepped it up a notch as they take the crown, but both Paladins and Warriors are very close, with DKs not too far behind either.
All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
Healers are very stable, as the Mythic rankings look identical to the Heroic ones from a few weeks ago, with Druids and Monks dominating.

All percentiles Mythic data by Warcraft Logs.
      Heroic
Frost DKs are back at No.2 on Heroic, as Demonology rules over all and Destruction remains in the middle of the pack. Havoc is rising this week and has positioned it self at No.4, knocking Shadow down one, as Balance hops 1 up into 6th. Subtletly has a big drop this week, as it moves all the way down to 14th from its previous top 10 spot.

All percentiles Heroic data by Warcraft Logs.

As always, if you want even more info on a spec, you can check out our class guides here, for a DPS tier list you can go here, or for even more data, head on over to Warcraft Logs. You can also check out our Sepulcher raid guides.

Blizzard has changed the eye color of Dark Ranger Captain Delaryn Summermoon in Patch 9.2.5. Delaryn was raised by Sylvanas during the Battle for Darkshore. In this post, we speculate about the eye change in more detail.
Delaryn Summermoon was the captain of the Darnassian City Guard and a commander of the night elven forces who fought during the War of Thorns. She was raised into undeath as a dark ranger of the Forsaken during the Battle for Darkshore. She along with other undead night elves sought Calia Menethil to help them.
      Source: Wowpedia
Delaryn's eyes currently have a red/blueish Death Knight glow on live servers and they gave her proper red eyes in Patch 9.2.5. The customization option exists in the game files for a while now and isn't exactly new. Below you can see her updated eyes in mode detail. Thanks to simaia and MrGM for spotting the change.
Placeholder for tweet 1528735870441771011 What could the new eye color mean? For one, we have rumors circulating about a potential Dragonflight pre-order Allied Race. We also know that something's brewing in Lordaeron with updates to Brill and Calia Menethil. Do you think Calia might end up leading the fallen Night Elves that have been raised by Sylvanas (dark rangers) or could this be a Hunter customization option like the Night Warrior? Let us know down in the comments!
Keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed by Blizzard yet and we'll need to wait until the update goes live.

Grimrail Depot will be added to the Mythic+ pool of dungeons in Shadowlands Season 4. Here's a sample +10 run of the Warlords of Draenor dungeon from the Patch 9.2.5 PTR.
The sample run includes testing of the new Season 4 Affix called Shrouded. Thanks to MrGM for the video.
Blizzard added a new accessibility option for players that hides moving environment pieces in Maw of Souls and Grimrail Depot. You can buy the elixir from an NPC at the beginning of both dungeons.

Heartbond Lupine received a new flying animation in Patch 9.2.5. In this post, we compare the old and new animations in more detail.
Heartbond Lupine is a mount added in Patch 9.2 that comes from Protoform Synthesis. Its current flying animation makes it look as if the mount was swimming in the air.

In Patch 9.2.5 the flying run animation has been updated as you can see below. The mount no longer swims but walks in the air.

Which animation do you prefer? Let us know in the comments!
