This week's update brings fixes for PvP, chat HTML messages, and Book of Coordination issues!

Amazon LogoWeekly Update (Source)

Heroes of Arkesia,

All Lost Ark servers and regions will be brought offline tonight, May 26th at 12 AM PT / 7 AM UTC / 9 AM CEST for a regularly scheduled weekly maintenance and update. Downtime is estimated to last up to 5 hours and will be implementing the following fixes:

  • Fixed an issue causing players to receive the incorrect quantity of Coins of Courage upon completing a PvP match
    • Our team is also in the process of identifying users who have received the incorrect number of Coins of Courage after our monthly update and compensating the difference between what was earned and what should have been earned. This is a more manual process and will take a few additional days. We appreciate your patience while we work through this for you!
  • Fixed an issue allowing players to send HTML in chat resulting in excessive whitespace
  • Fixed an issue blocking the Book of Coordination from being saved if combat skill presets were loaded while on a Shadowhunter.

Thank you for your patience and understanding during this downtime. See you all in Arkesia!

The big switch to Wednesday maintenance begins this week as Amazon explain why they changed it, we get some info on the Bloodstone compensation from last week, as well as a heads up that the Welcome Challenge is ending on July 20th!
      Maintenance (Source)
      Heroes of Arkesia,
All Lost Ark servers and regions will be coming offline on Wednesday, July 6th at 12 AM PT / 7 AM UTC / 9 AM CEST for our weekly maintenance and update. Tonight’s downtime is estimated to last up to 1.5 hours.
Moving ahead, weekly updates and resets will continue occur on Wednesdays instead of Thursdays. We’re making this change to ensure that our teams at Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG have time before the weekend to work on addressing any potential issues that could arrive in an update.
Additionally, we will be granting Bloodstone compensation for weekly Guild Requests. Players who were affected by this bug last week can expect to see their rewards delivered by the time servers are back up.
As a final note, the in-game Welcome Challenge will be ending on July 20th. Be sure to complete these challenges and claim your rewards before then!
Thank you for your patience, and we’ll see you in Arkesia!

It seems the recent update has caused a problem with weekly quests for some players, as they cannot complete either the regular or guild weekly quests at all.
As reported by Atreties, the issue is related to the new Wednesday reset, which started this week with the June update. For players that completed their weeklies yesterday, June 30th, the game is counting them as having been finished this week, because of the new earlier reset. This has left many players unable complete them, as the last day tends to be the most common to finish up those weeklies.
No word from Amazon on the matter yet, so there may be a fix coming, but since this week's reset is already a day shorter (plus the extended maintenances), it might be tricky to finish up even if we do see a fix soon.
You can read more about the issues players have been having over on the Lost Ark reddit.
Weeklies Done Yesterday 6/29 Can’t Be Done This Week So here is why you cannot accept your weeklies
Guild weeklys bugged! I didn't do them and they appear complete already! Anyone else?!

The full update notes for today's patch are here! From the Vykas Legion raid, Kungelanium guardian, Thronespire solo dungeon, new event island, and many bug fixes and upgrades!
      June Update Notes (Source)
      Heroes of Arkesia,
The June “Wrath of the Covetous Legion” update arrives in Arkesia tomorrow! Downtime for the update will begin on June 30 at 12AM PT (7AM UTC) and is expected to last 4 hours. Wrath of the Covetous Legion includes the Vykas Legion Raid, the Kungelanium Guardian Raid, the solo Thronespire Dungeon, a new event island, new cosmetics, and more! Find the full list of content, updates, and bug fixes below.
      Weekly Update & Reset Timing
Starting next week, weekly updates and resets will be shifted to occur one day earlier. Next week’s update and reset will take place on Wednesday, July 6 instead of Thursday, July 7. Please keep this in mind as you work to challenge Vykas and complete other content that resets on a weekly basis— as you’ll only have 6 days instead of 7! We’re making this change to ensure that our teams at Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG have time before the weekend to work on addressing any potential issues that could arrive in an update.
      Spotlight
      Vykas Legion Raid

Vykas follows Valtan as the second Legion Raid arriving into the Western version of Lost Ark. In this raid, you’ll face dangerously beguiling members of the Covetous Legion before battling Legion Commander Vykas in her ‘Garden of Crimson Delight’. No revives are available mid-battle, so be ready to fight for your life. Vykas is an eight-player Legion raid, has 3 gates, and is complete with a swathe of new unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics. Players will need to be Item Level 1430 to attempt Normal difficulty, and 1460 for Hard.

The Relic Quality gear sets available at Legion Commander Gear Crafting NPCs require materials from both the Valtan and Vykas Legion Raids to craft a complete set. The Vykas Legion Raid introduces two new items that can be crafted into gear; Covetous Fangs for Legendary gear, and Covetous Wings for Relic gear. Players able to vanquish the three gates in the Vykas Legion Raid will be rewarded at each stage with increasingly desirable loot, matching the difficulty of those battles. Clearing each gate will grant Gold, Covetous Fangs and Wings, Relic Accessories and honing materials. The final gate can include additional special items, such as Engraving Recipes, Card Packs, and Honing Books. Additionally, after successfully clearing each gate, a bonus chest can be purchased with some of the Gold just earned, giving additional Gear-crafting and Honing materials, Accessories, and Ability Stones. The final gate of the Legion Raid will also kick off a loot auction when completed, allowing players to bid on a bonus Gear-crafting Material Chest, Engravings, Honing Books, and more.
Players can participate in Legion Raids after completing the guide quest ‘[Guide] Notice: Legion Raid’.
      Kungelanium Guardian Raid

A fearsome force of evil in the Chain War, Kungelanium has awoken from his glacial slumber by the re-emergence of the Demon Legions and the Chaos spreading throughout Arkesia. Joining Deskaluda, the frost predator Kungelanium will enter the gauntlet of powerful Level 6 Guardians available to challenge in a Guardian Raid. Kungelanium will be available for players to challenge once they reach item level 1460 or higher. Like other Guardian Raids, you can attempt to vanquish alone, with a party, or matchmake with up to three other heroes.
      Thronespire

Arriving in Arkesia with the Demonic invasion after the events in South Vern, The Demon's Tower is connected to Petrania— the world home to Kazeros's Demon Legions. A distorted dimension has been created by the resonance between Petrania and the Tower. The Holy Sacrian Empire has confirmed that Demons are invading through this dimension, and have named it Thronespire. The dimension is growing, and is threatening Arkesia. The priests and knights of the Holy Sacrian Empire are trying to hold their ground, but they're running short on supplies. Defeat the Demons pouring out of the Thronespire and defend Arkesia.
Thronespire is a new single-player dungeon experience in a twisted dimension with 50 levels. In Thronespire, you’ll battle until you run out of time, working to defeat as many levels and enemies as possible before you meet your match and succumb to the Demon Legions. Completing the first 25 levels grant first-time clear rewards (you’ll earn rewards for every level you conquer). The other 25 levels are focused on prestige and completion times— proving you have the solo skills it takes to conquer anything the Demon Legions throw your way. Players will need to be Item Level 1325 to participate.
      General Updates
      Heartbeat Island
Need some R&R after fighting the Demonic Legions in Arkesia’s hot summer months? Spend some time relaxing on the beach or dancing with your friends on the new event island: Heartbeat Island. You can find Heartbeat Island by speaking to Jollous, the festival expert located in major cities, or by sailing directly to it (located near Anikka). You do not need to complete a quest in a City to enter, and once you've visited, you can use the Ocean Liner to return!
Once you've arrived on Heartbeat Island you can collect Festival Coins through various activities, which can be exchanged for a variety of rewards. There are daily quests where you receive Festival Coins just by relaxing in a designated area, and hourly quests for dancing and defeating Rekiel, the Dancing Queen.
      General & QoL Updates
Added Stronghold Research that improves alternate characters’ honing rates on their journey to Item Level 1415. This can be researched at Item Level 1460.
Added a CAPTCHA system as an ongoing bot prevention measure. Sometimes when entering a new zone, you may be asked to submit a text CAPTCHA response within several minutes.
Refreshed the daily log-in reward track.
Added new settings to change the Damage font size.
Chest contents can now be sorted in alphabetical order.
Added preventions to limit gold-seller activity. New store purchases will now have a 3 day waiting period before they can be traded or transferred out of the buyer’s account via mailing, trading, gifting, or selling on the Auction House.
Updated some localization text and in-game terminology. For example, Tier 3 honing stones have changed from Guardian Stone Crystals to Crystallized Guardian Stones.
      Store Updates
Two new cosmetic collections and new pets arrive in the store. There are also new Growth Support Packs and new item bundles in the in-game store packaging some existing items, such as Una’s completion tickets and card packs.
      Growth Support Packs
Each pack can be purchased once per roster.
Growth Support Pack - available in exchange for 500 Royal Crystals. Contains:

Amazon have detailed the Legion raid coming this week, from Vykas herself to the new Sidereal abilities, rewards, as well as the new super express mission that will grant you a lot of mats, and the Feiton powerpass.
      Vykas (Source)
“I am Vykas, the Covetous Legion Commander. I envy you. I want you. Come to me. I will kill you in ecstasy."
Beware, Heroes of Arkesia. After the tournament in Anikka, Vykas returned to Petrania with her Covetous Legion, eagerly awaiting Kazeros’s next move. When recent events in South Vern led to Chaos Gates opening across the skies of Arkesia, Vykas led the Covetous Legion to consume the world with her twisted, red avarice.
The Covetous Legion Commander Vykas arrives in Arkesia next week, and must be vanquished before she wreaks untold havoc and destruction. Vykas isn’t the only threat releasing in next week’s June 30 update. She’s joined by the colossal frost predator Kungelanium, recently awoken from his glacial slumber by the re-emergence of the Demon Legions and the Chaos spreading throughout Arkesia. To top it off, Thronespire will also open and pose a different type of challenge— a new solo dungeon experience in a twisted dimension teeming with enemies.
      Vykas Legion Raid
"I am mighty and beautiful. Everyone obeys me."
      Legion Raid Overview
Vykas follows Valtan as the second Legion Raid arriving into the Western version of Lost Ark. In this raid, you’ll face dangerous and powerful members of the Covetous Legion before battling Legion Commander Vykas in her ‘Garden of Crimson Delight’. No revives are available mid-battle, so players must be ready to fight for their lives. Vykas is an eight-player Legion raid, has 3 gates, and is complete with a swathe of new unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics. Players will need to be Item Level 1430 to attempt Normal difficulty, and 1460 for Hard.
As Legion Raids are challenging and take time, there are gates (or checkpoints) that will save players' progression as they advance through the Raid. In other activities, gates will save your progression for that session in case you wipe and need to try again, but in Legion Raids the gate save point system will not only let you try again, it also lets you take a break from a Legion Raid without losing out on progress or rewards. You’ll receive a reward whenever you clear a gate in a Legion Raid. Your completed gate information will be saved when you claim your reward, and your group can vote to decide whether you continue to the next gate or not. If your group votes to continue on, you’ll move forward with your current group to challenge the boss, enemies, or Legion Commander guarding the next gate. If you’ve decided to wait on challenging the remaining gates, you can come back later with your group or find a new group until the weekly reset.
      New Sidereal Skills
In each Legion Raid, you’ll find Sidereals willing to fight alongside your group, allowing you to enlist their help to unleash powerful skills and attacks at critical moments in the battle. You can fill up the Sidereal Skill meter throughout the raid, and when the meter is full, the raid group leader can use one of the available Sidereal Skills. The Vykas Legion Raid introduces two new Sidereal skills, and brings back Wei— one of the allies found in the Valtan Legion Raid.
"Her avarice will create an insatiable thirst and make you doubt all those around you. Be careful not to be swayed by her!" Nineveh - Divine Punishment Parkunas
Nineveh fires arrows to precisely strike your foe, inflicting massive Damage and weakpoint damage. It can also partially remove buffs used by the Legion Commander on hit.
      Inanna - Elzowin's Grace
Inanna uses magick to create a protective zone, with strong defensive powers; granting immunity to push, absorbing some incoming Damage, and more. The moment the protective zone is disabled, targets within the area recover health.
      Wei - Awakened Dochul
Wei summons Dochul to launch 3 powerful attacks. Awakened Dochul inflicts massive Stagger damage whenever he attacks.
      Gear & Rewards
The Relic Quality sets available at the Legion Commander Gear Crafting NPCs require materials from both the Valtan and Vykas Legion Raids to craft a complete set.
Hard mode will grant additional quantities of these items, and drop additional Covetous Wings instead of both Fangs and Wings. Stones of Chaos can also be earned in Hard mode, which are used to craft or upgrade the quality of Relic gear.
      Entry
Legion Raids can be entered by any number of characters on your roster each week. Each character can face up to three different Legion Commanders each week - meaning your characters can fight both Valtan and Vykas in the same week. However, Normal and Hard difficulties for the same Legion Raid share a weekly lockout, so you can only attempt one difficulty (per commander) per week.
Players can participate in Legion Raids after completing the guide quest ‘[Guide] Notice: Legion Raid’. As an added step for the new Vykas raid, you’ll need to visit the Lunar Knights NPC in Vern castle and start the quest 'Blooming Again', which tells the Covetous Legion Commander's story. Once unlocked, the Vykas Legion Raid is available to enter through the Legion Raid structure located in major cities. Legion Raids can also be entered through the Party Finder tool (icon found below the mini-map), or through the “Integrated Dungeon” menu found by selecting the Integrated Dungeon icon under the mini-map, or by pressing [ALT] + [Q].
Progression Tips & Tricks - Reaching Legion Raids
Players who haven’t reached the Item Levels required to participate in Legion Raids shouldn’t feel pressured to race to the new content— continue to enjoy your journey of exploring Arkesia and challenging yourself at your own pace— but for those excited and eager to try out the new endgame raids, we have a few tips and tricks to help you in your journey.
      Tier 3 - Reaching 1415+
For players that have been battling Valtan since the May Destined for Destruction Update, Vykas’s Normal and Hard modes are close in Item Level - just one level of upgrades (respectively) away from the Valtan Normal and Hard mode Item Level requirements. Battling Valtan, Deskaluda, and using the materials granted by the Chaos Line Hard difficulty should help kickstart those final few upgrades. For players still working on leveling up their gear through Tier 3 to reach the Valtan and Vykas Legion Raids, we have a few tips and tricks to help progress toward Legion Raids.
After you’ve crafted the Legendary Tier 3 Gear set you want from the Hard mode Oreha’s Well Abyssal Dungeons or the Argos Abyss Raid, leftover Crafting materials (Oreha’s Empyrean & Argos’s Blood, respectively) can be dismantled to give large amounts of Great Honor Leapstones, critical for honing your gear.
Make sure to vanquish the weekly Challenge Guardians— they grant large amounts of honing materials (amongst other rewards), all in accordance with the Item Level of the character completing them. Challenge Guardians are a new weekly activity differing from a normal Guardian Raid. Not only are these foes more difficult, Challenge Guardian Raids apply ‘Scale of Harmony’ to adjust your characters’ item level to match that of their enemy. However, with increased challenge comes increased loot! Rewards for each Challenge Guardian can be obtained once per roster, per week.
New Players - Progressing to Endgame
For new players looking to reach all the content found within the Tier 3 endgame, checkout a recommended starting point of daily and weekly activities that grant progression materials in the Item Level and Progression Lost Ark Academy. While playing, make sure to leverage the two ongoing, limited-time progression events to speed up your leveling:
      Super Express Event
This new event will allow players to select a character at Combat Level 50 (that’s under item level 1000) to do “Express Missions”. That character will be granted level 302 gear, and have an opportunity to complete express and bonus missions for significant honing and progression rewards. The missions will be split up into four sections, corresponding to the major continents found in Tier 1 and Tier 2 (North Vern, Rohendel, Yorn, and Feiton), each granting an abundance of materials relevant to that tier to help players progress, such as Silver, Honing Materials, Battle Items, Engravings, and much more. This event can be activated on a character until June 30, and the missions on the activated character can be completed until July 20.
      Feiton Powerpass
For players who’ve progressed a character through the “Will” questline in Tier 2, the Feiton Powerpass can be used to immediately level up another character to Combat Level 50 and Item Level 960. The Feiton Powerpass will function like the Vern Powerpasses available to all players in the launch version of Lost Ark— once you’ve completed the storyline through that continent, you’ll be able to use it to bring an alternate character to that point in the game. With a Feiton Powerpass, you'll receive level 960 gear on that character. This event Powerpass will expire on June 30.
Alternate characters can be used to experience new playstyles, and can also send materials to your main character through Roster Storage if you're looking to progress one character quickly.
      Looking Ahead
Speaking of progression events, we wanted to provide an update on the summer progression events previously teased in the Team Update & Roadmap article. While we’re still fine-tuning the details of the next progression event, we’re happy to announce it will arrive in Arkesia in the July update, along with the free Punika Powerpass we’re giving to all players. These progression events can be used on existing character, or a newly created Arcanist - also arriving in that update!
Stay tuned to PlayLostArk.com and our social channels next week for the full June Update release notes. We’re excited to witness the epic battles unfold next week against the Covetous Legion Commander. We wish you luck, and we’ll see you in Arkesia!

We have some huge news as the LONG requested 1415 alt honing Stronghold research is coming with the June update! We also learn what gifts all players will receive due to the delay, the fact that the Yoz's Jar store will not be coming, store updates and more! For the actual content coming with the June update on the 30th, read this article.
      June Team Update (Source)
      Heroes of Arkesia,
The Wrath of the Covetous Legion update will arrive in Arkesia on June 30. We can’t wait to witness the upcoming battles against Legion Commander Vykas and the Guardian Kungelanium, along with the personal victories as players test themselves in the solo Thronespire dungeon. We’re also ecstatic to announce that we’ve worked with Smilegate RPG to include a top player request in the June update— a Stronghold Research available at Item Level 1460 that improves alternate characters’ honing rates on their journey to Item Level 1415. We were too excited to not spoil that one, but you’ll have to wait until June 29 for the full release notes.
While we originally hoped to release the June update earlier in the month, a few factors played into the update moving to the end of the month; working with Smilegate RPG to add in the player-requested Stronghold Research, our teams focusing on ridding Arkesia of bots (and corresponding queue times), evaluating other content set to arrive, and adding in a few player gifts. In the June & July roadmap we released earlier this month, we shared that the Yoz’s Jar cosmetic system would arrive in the June update. After taking another look at the system’s design and listening to player feedback, we’ve decided to remove Yoz’s Jar.
First, some background. It’s important to us that players have a path to acquire items from our in-game store without spending real money. Nearly every store item can be acquired with Crystals, available by trading Gold through the player-run Currency Exchange. Items acquired with Royal Crystals are also tradable through the player-to-player Market. The Market allows the community to play an active role in the valuation of items and makes the economy within Arkesia highly flexible— letting players trade items as they see fit. Through these avenues, nearly all items are available in exchange for in-game, earnable currencies (with a few account-level exceptions, such as name changes).
      Yoz’s Jar
With that context, let’s discuss Yoz’s Jar. This cosmetic system includes a variety of Epic skins and two signature Legendary skins for each Advanced Class. As fashion plays a critical part in vanquishing Kazeros’s Demon Legions, we were excited to introduce a collection of unique looks. However, the Epic and Legendary skins aren’t purely cosmetic. They provide a small (1% and 2% Strength/Dexterity/Intelligence, respectively) attack power increase. Every advantage is critical as players engage in Lost Ark’s challenging activities, like the newly introduced Legion Raids. While Epic and Legendary skins from Yoz’s Jar would be available to everyone through Crystals and the player-to-player Market, data and feedback suggested they would fetch very high Gold prices— making it difficult for players to acquire a Legendary skin, much less a matching set.
We didn’t want players to feel that the skins found in Yoz’s Jar were necessary for gameplay, especially if gated by a significant monetary or in-game currency barrier. Flexibility and fairness to players have always been driving forces in the partnership between our teams as we work to ensure that players are able to enjoy and play Lost Ark however they see fit.
      Player Gifts
To thank players for their patience and celebrate the launch of the Wrath of the Covetous Legion update, we’re excited to announce that two gifts will be granted to all players! We’ll be giving all players a Growth Support Pack which contains:
Destruction Stone Selection Pouch x5 - allowing one of these options to be selected from each chest:
Tier 1 - Destruction Stone Fragment (Bound) x1000

These gifts will be available to claim after the weekly downtime and update on June 30.
      Store Updates
The Wrath of the Covetous Legion update will also include some new store items. For players looking forward to switching up their outfit, we’re adding new cosmetics to the in-game store; the Shadow of Stern collection and the Umar collection. Growth Support Packs containing honing materials will also be added to the store for players looking for a consistent offering over the rotating honing materials currently available in Mari’s Secret Shop. Each pack will be available through the in-game store for about a month, and has a purchase limit of one per customer. The full details and pack contents will be shared in the upcoming release notes.

It’s always our goal for in-game purchases to be (and feel) optional, and for players to feel encouraged to progress at whatever pace they’re comfortable with. We’ll continue to bolster the amount of in-game earnable honing materials for all players through progression events, free powerpasses, special events (like event islands), and other new content with valuable rewards.
We’re eager to continue our collaboration with Smilegate RPG to provide the best experience possible for the range of players in the community. As always, thank you for your feedback, support, and participation in the Lost Ark community. We’ll see you in Arkesia!
