We have the huge 2-month roadmap for Lost Ark and it includes a whole lot of content! We're getting a new guardian and Legion raid, new single player dungeon experience, challenge Abyss dungeons, the Arcanist class, new skins, Inferno difficulty for Valtan, and more! We also find out that we'll be getting a new class every 2 months in 2022.

Heroes of Arkesia,

Members of our team joined Smilegate RPG in South Korea last week to look at the roadmap, improve tools and processes, fight the war on bots together, and more as we continue our collaboration. Coming out of those meetings, we have a few topics we’d like to discuss before sharing a sneak peek at the June and July roadmap. We recently shared an update on our battle against bots that we encourage you to read if you’re interested in learning more about our efforts. We’ll keep this team update focused on a few other topics we know the community is interested in, such as Advanced Class release cadence and a discussion about release notes, before we dive into the upcoming content.

Team Update

Advanced Class Release Cadence

Lost Ark first launched in Korea in 2019 and Arkesia has been growing ever since, with new challenging activities, continents, and classes. There’s a vast amount of content we’re working with Smilegate RPG on bringing to the Western version. Lost Ark only launched in the West three-and-a-half months ago, and we’re excited to continue a fast release cadence as we work to catch up with other regions and grow the global community. While there’s a lot of content that has yet to arrive on Arkesia’s Western shores, we know that one of the top player questions is regarding the Advanced Class release cadence. Below you’ll find a glance into our plans and reasoning before we share the June & July roadmap content.

We are planning to release one new Advanced Class every two months for the rest of 2022. We’ve worked with Smilegate RPG to carefully plan out this schedule, which is a much faster cadence than other regions as we catch up. We know some players are eager to max out their roster and want them even faster, but Class releases build excitement and bring new (and returning) players into Arkesia. Having a steady flow of content releases that include Advanced Classes during Lost Ark’s first year in the West will help support the long-term health of the game. While the specific Advanced Class schedule is not set in stone, we can say we’re planning to release the first 21 Advanced Classes before other new, or future, classes.

Our teams work with Smilegate RPG to evaluate a variety of factors when looking at which Advanced Class to release at a specific time, such as planned balance updates/reworks, relevance of the abilities and playstyle to other content, community feedback, and more. The release of the Glaivier and Destroyer Advanced Classes provide a good example. Our teams knew we wanted the Destroyer to release at (or around) the Valtan Legion Raid for players to begin leveraging the massive stagger damage in end-game activities. However, releasing the Destroyer shortly before a planned rework wouldn’t be a great experience, so we pulled forward the fan-favorite Glaivier Advanced Class into its place, and released the Destroyer alongside Valtan.

We know the importance of having a variety of playstyles, and when a new Advanced Class releases we want to provide players who enjoy it with paths to quickly progress. Along with planning out the Advanced Class release cadence, we’re also working with Smilegate RPG to plan in-game events and features that will help players progress their characters. As we’ve mentioned previously, we’ll let players know what classes are coming out near Powerpass grants or progression events to ensure players can make an informed decision about how and when they want to use these features. In the roadmap below, you’ll find more information on the next planned Advanced Class - the Arcanist.

Behind the Scenes - Release Notes

Since launch, we’ve promised to be as transparent as we can with the Lost Ark community around the world. With changes to Lost Ark impacting moment-to-moment gameplay and a variety of game systems that players engage with every day, we fully understand the importance of clearly communicating those changes as specifically as possible. We wanted to acknowledge frustrations in the community and ensure that it’s an ongoing area of conversation between our teams and a focus of ours to improve. Our goal is to always clearly communicate changes, but on both the April and May updates we’ve fallen a little short.

Lost Ark has a colossal amount of content and systems. When we work with Smilegate RPG to compile game-builds blending content that released years ago in Korea with newer content like QoL updates and balance changes, things get complicated very quickly. Neither of our teams intentionally leave release notes out, but occasionally, when layering content together and handing-off details, a few changes can slip into the build or get lost. Additionally (also due to the enormous amount of content) a bug can slip into the build that goes unnoticed by the various QA teams working around the clock. Certain bugs can even look like changes to the game, and we know that can be extremely confusing— we’re looking at you, rapport bug. We appreciate the bug reports submitted by players on the Official Lost Ark Forums, which we review and strive to fix as soon as possible. If you ever have a question on something you encounter, make sure to check the forums for updates on issues that sometimes arise after a content release.

Our teams at Amazon Games and Smilegate RPG appreciate the passion and patience of the Lost Ark community, and we’re excited for the future as we continually improve our collaboration and work to provide the best experience in Arkesia. Now that we’ve wrapped up this team update, let’s dive into some of the new features, activities, and the new Advanced Class arriving over the next two months.

Roadmap - General

The content found below are some of the highlights we know players are looking forward to, and similar to the previous roadmaps, isn’t a comprehensive list of everything releasing in these updates. Stay tuned to our website, social channels, and the release notes for the full list of new islands, store updates, events, bug-fixes, and more. We’re also planning on giving every player a free Punika Powerpass this summer, and are fine-tuning the details for another Express Event. We’ll let you know when the dates and details are finalized!

June

Legion Raid - Vykas (Normal & Hard)

Battle the Covetous Legion’s Commander Vykas, who will join Valtan as the second Legion Raid available. Legion Raids are difficult team-based activities that require teamwork to understand and enact the strategy necessary to counter each Legion Commander's unique characteristics, abilities, and mechanics. As Legion Raids are challenging and take time, there are gates (or checkpoints) that will save a player's progress as they advance through the Raid. To learn more about some of the mechanics unique to Legion Raids, visit our Lost Ark Academy on the Valtan Legion Raid.

Like Valtan, this Legion Raid will require eight players. To enter normal mode, players will need to reach item level 1430, and for hard, 1460. The Vykas Legion Raid will grant materials allowing successful players to finish crafting their Relic gear sets, alongside a host of other valuable rewards.

New Guardian Raid - Kungelanium

Joining Deskaluda, the frost predator Kungelanium will enter the gauntlet of powerful Level 6 Guardians available to challenge in a Guardian Raid. Kungelanium will be available for players to challenge once they reach item level 1460 or higher. Like other Guardian Raids, you can attempt to vanquish alone, with a party, or matchmake with up to three other heroes.

Thronespire

Thronespire is a new single-player dungeon experience in a twisted dimension with 50 levels. Once you enter a floor, you’ll have a limited amount of time to clear it before moving to the next, or failing and need to re-try. While similar to the Shadowspire and Fatespire solo dungeons, Thronespire has a few key differences. In Thronespire, you’ll battle until overwhelmed, working to defeat as many floors and enemies as possible before you meet your match and succumb to the Demon Legions. Completing the first 25 floors grant first-time clear rewards (you’ll earn all rewards for the floors you conquer). The other 25 floors are focused on prestige and completion times— proving you have the solo skills it takes to conquer anything the Demon Legions throw your way. Players will need to be item level 1325 to participate.

New Store Cosmetics - Yoz’s Jar

Yoz’s Jar is a new consumable that arriving in the in-game store that will introduce a variety of Epic and Legendary skins. If you have a skin you don’t like or wear anymore (or maybe one from Yoz’s Jar you’re not a fan of) you can break it down for “Cloth”, which can be used with a Jar to roll a new skin from a determined list. This new cosmetic system will also give a chance to acquire Legendary skins, which provide better benefits than Epic skins. No worries if you like an older skin more than the looks of your new Legendary one with bigger bonuses, you can ‘Overlay’ the skin you like over the Legendary skin! Like the rest of the content previewed here, we’ll share more details as we head toward the June update.

July

New Mage Advanced Class - Arcanist

The Arcanist imbues special cards with her Magick and uses them to for a variety of effects. From slicing up enemies with a deluge of thrown cards to summoning powerful Magick attacks or team effects from the cards themselves, the Arcanist has a trick up her sleeve for every situation. Despite being armed with a variety of skills, the Arcanist will sometimes leave things to the fate of the cards with her specialty skill “Card Deck”. When the player lands an attack, it charges the Card Meter. Once the meter is completely charged, a card with random stats registers on the Card Deck, which can be pulled out and used to varying degrees of devastating effect. The Arcanist will join the Bard and Sorceress as the third available Mage Advanced Class.

Valtan Legion Raid - Inferno Difficulty

The most difficult version of Legion Raids, the Inferno difficulty is all about proving you’re the among the best of the best in Arkesia, and earning the prestige. Rather than chasing the normal rewards of gear, materials, and everything else you’d receive in a Legion Raid, Inferno rewards instead showcase your victory with titles, achievements, Stronghold structures, and more! A new in-game vendor will be added for players to access a variety of prestigious rewards, earned after various numbers of clears.

There are a few key differences between Normal/Hard and Inferno difficulties:

  • ‘Scale of Balance’ is applied, and the raid requires use of the Book of Coordination, so everyone’s gear is normalized against the level of your Legion Commander opponent.

  • The gate progression system will not be active - you can’t make it half-way and come back later in the week.

  • Inferno mode will not count against your weekly attempt limit for Legion Raids, so you can play Valtan on Normal/Hard and Inferno in the same week, and try Inferno as many times as you’d like.

Valtan Inferno difficulty will require item level 1445 for players to participate.

Challenge Abyssal Dungeons

Similar to how the recently released Challenge Guardian Raids applies Scale of Harmony to equalize your power against your foe, Challenge Abyssal Dungeons will use this treatment in a new weekly activity. With greater challenge also comes greater rewards. Various honing material selection pouches— like Challenge Guardians, you can pick the offering closest to your item level— will rotate through the rewards, and cards aplenty are available as drops or in the end-of-dungeon loot auction. You can play through each Abyssal Dungeon once (per roster) each week.

Looking Ahead

We’re excited to witness the epic battles against Vykas, and seeing which heroes are able to defeat Valtan in the Inferno difficulty. Stay tuned to our website, social channels, and the release notes for the full list of new islands, store updates, events, bug-fixes, and more over the coming months. See you in Arkesia!

Good thing they are releasing missing classes and content, although they still have some catching up to do. At this rate, they might release the Artist next year. Feels like game's population keeps getting smaller. Lots of bots and it becomes harder to find people for events that used to be full of people. I am also losing interest in it myself.

The Spring update release date is here and it's close, as we'll be seeing the new Hanumatan Guardian and Brelshaza Hard mode with next week's maintenance! The full update notes will arrive next week.
      April Update (Source)
The Hanumatan Level 6 Guardian Raid and Brelshaza Hard Mode bring Ancient quality gear and accessories to Lost Ark next week in the April 12 Spring Update!
The Solar Guardian Hanumatan is hallowed in Anikka. The martial artists of Anikka followed Hanumatan's movements to develop a martial art. A powerful force of destruction in the Chain War 500 years ago, Hanumatan has sensed chaos looming in Arkesia and has woken from a long slumber.
After spectating the state of the world with dispassionate eyes, he has come to a conclusion: Humans are the enemies endangering Arkesia. Hanumatan must be stopped, before his cold and furious wrath destroys every life form on Arkesia. Challenging Hanumatan in a Guardian Raid will require Item Level 1540, and like Brelshaza Hard Mode, Ancient accessories can be earned by successful parties.

Interested in learning about ongoing progression events to catch up? Check out the Preparing for Brelshaza Hard Mode article. Brelshaza Hard Mode and Hanumatan aren’t the only content set to arrive on April 12— stay tuned to PlayLostArk.com and our social media channels for the full list of new content, cosmetics, and quality of life updates in next week's Release Notes. Until then, we'll see you in Arkesia!

Updated 3/14/23 - 10:30pm PT: We’re happy to say that the issue gating the release of The Art of War update has been resolved. Ultimately, our in-game moderation system required additional configuration resulting in the anticipated delay conveyed in earlier messaging. The revisions have passed our QA review and we’re on track to deliver the content based on our original schedule. Thanks for playing Lost Ark and enjoy the new Artist class! _________________________________________
      Original Post:
The big Lost Ark March update, which brings the new subclass as well as 3 special events and a lot more, will not be releasing today, as Amazon has announced. There is no new scheduled release date for the update, and maintenance will proceed as usual for the weekly reset.
You'll also find the full (and gargantuan) release notes for the update below, featuring class tuning, Ark Pass Season 3, many QoL improvements, bug fixes and a lot more in what is probably the biggest batch of update notes we've seen so far.

We thank you for your patience and understanding.

The fan-favorite Naruni Racing event returns a year after its Western debut! In this mode, two teams of seven players (7v7) will compete against each other, racing around a course while transformed while preventing the other team from progressing. Earn event coins that can be exchanged for a variety of impactful rewards such as a Naruni Mount Selection Chest, honing materials, and more. An NPC named “Arkesia Grand Prix Manager” will arrive in every major city to help you enter the event, granting an “[Event][Daily] Go to the Arena!” quest for players to gain entry. Players must be level 50 to enter the event.
      Ark Pass Season 3

Ark Pass Season 3 adds new ways for players to earn meaningful rewards just by playing the game. Players can complete missions to progress through 30 Ark Pass levels, and with each level reached, new rewards will be unlocked and earned. The regular Ark Pass is completely free and grants a variety of helpful rewards, such as Pheons, honing material selection chests, a Legendary Card Pack, and even the Chromarong Pet! Ark Pass progress is earned across your entire roster, and the rewards are roster bound.
While all players will have access to the free Ark Pass, those interested in more rewards and cosmetics can exchange Royal Crystals for two premium reward tracks (Premium & Super Premium) which each layer in additional rewards to the leveling track. The Premium Ark Pass adds rewards at all 30 levels earned alongside the free rewards. Some examples include more Dark Priest Honing Material Selection Chests, battle items, Tier 3 Gem Chests, and the Dark Priest Warhorse Mount!
On top of the Regular & Premium rewards, the Super Premium Ark Pass weaves the Dark Priest skin collection, the Dark Priest Wallpaper, and a Legendary Card Pack through the 30 levels of the Ark Pass.
The Premium pass is available in exchange for 1,500 Royal Crystals, and the Super Premium (all rewards & the Dark Priest skins) for 3,000 Royal Crystals. If you start off Premium, you can upgrade to Super Premium for an additional 1,500 Royal Crystals. The Premium and Super Premium Ark Passes will be available through the in-game Ark Pass UI until May 10 and mission progress can be earned until June 6.
Find all the cosmetics showcased in the ‘Store Updates’ section of the release notes!
      Progression Events
      Punika Powerpass
Players will receive a Punika Powerpass after completing Punika's quest “Berver's Friend” during, or before, the event period. The Punika Powerpass will function like the North Vern Powerpasses available to players in the launch version of Lost Ark— once you’ve completed the storyline through that continent, you can use it to bring an alternate character to that point in the game. With this version of the Punika Powerpass, you'll receive Item Level 1340 gear.
Hyper Express Plus & Engraving Support
Pairing well with the Punika Powerpass, players will be able to designate one character between item Level 1340 and 1445 on their roster to participate in the Hyper Express Plus Event, where they’ll earn honing materials to quickly level up to Item Level 1445 and beyond. The designated character will earn rewards every 15 Item Levels up to 1445, including a wealth of Silver, honing materials, Gems, Engravings, and even a Legendary Card Selection Pack!
As a new feature available with the Hyper Express Plus, the Engraving Support system lets players choose 4 engravings to be in effect at level 3 during the event. Here’s how to get started:
After selecting a Hyper Express Plus character, the Engraving Support button will light up.
Click the Engraving Support button to open the Engraving Support page and select your 4 desired Engravings.
Press the Toggle Engraving Support button to start using their effects.
The effects of Engraving Support will also be shown in your Character Profile.
      Story Express
Clear story missions to level up a character from Item level 1 to 1340 and earn rewards like Item Level 1340 Argos Legendary Gear that will help you progress even further. With progression to Item Level 1340, the Story Express event also sets you up to take advantage of Hyper Express Plus and more easily get any new character up to Item Level 1445.
Any character that has not yet completed the ‘On the Border’ quest from Rethamis can become a designated Story Express character. Select Story Express Character through the ‘Event Quest’ window and clear story missions for valuable progression materials. Story completion rewards include Crystalline Aura (14 days), Epic Class Engraving Recipe Selection Pouch, Epic Combat Engraving Recipe Selection Pouch, and additional honing materials. Skipped quests via a Powerpass or Knowledge Transfer will not offer Story Express completion rewards.
You can only designate one Story Express character per account. If you delete your Story Express character, you will not be able to designate another one.
New Player & Returning Player Log-in Bonuses
This upgraded log-in reward track will support brand new and returning players with 15 days of rewards to help kickstart their journey through Arkesia. It includes new and improved bonuses including Engraving Recipe Selection Chests (Uncommon to Legendary), a variety of Honing Material Selection Chests, Pheons, and a Legendary - Epic Card Pack. These bonuses will be only be applied for new and returning players (absent for 30+ days) who log in after the March Update.

Amazon have shared all the details on both the new Artist subclass and the many new events coming with the March update on the 15th! We'll have three events going when the new support class arrives, with another Punika Powerpass, Hyper Express event and a Story express event, as well as a new Engraving Support system on top!
      Artist and Events (Source)
      Heroes of Arkesia,
On March 15 the Artist Class will arrive in Arkesia accompanied by special progression events in the March “Art of War” Update. The Artist is capable of tactical versatility with illusion powers from her brush, and specializes in supporting her team. With her magical brush and flowing ink, the Artist can either choose to attack foes directly or summon holy beasts by painting them. While the Artist's attack power is on the low side, she is capable of providing strong support to allies, and rescuing them from peril with her illusion powers— making her a welcome member of any party. The Artist is the first Advanced Class an entirely new class category; Specialists, who will have more than one appearance in 2023.
Before we dive into the class specifics and details on the progression events, we have a quick note if you missed our original announcement about bringing the Artist to the West.
We know there’s been a lot of speculation in the Lost Ark community on how the Artist Class would arrive in the Western version of Lost Ark, and we want to be transparent with players excited for its release. Previously, we’ve stated that there may be some content in the original version of the game that gets adapted for Western audiences. While our goal is to preserve the authenticity of the original game, we also work with Smilegate RPG to make localization updates to ensure the game feels approachable and representative of our Western players. Nothing gameplay-related will change for the Artist Class, but some skins will be modified to better fit Western norms. Specifically, skins with short skirts will have shorts added underneath the skirt, and other skins will have adjusted pant lengths or tights added. We will be working to preserve the original spirit of the skins when applying these changes to ensure players will have a variety of compelling customization options for this uniquely versatile class.
      Class Identity
The Artist can fill the Harmony Meter Identity Gauge by landing skills on foes, filling up three Harmony Orbs. Harmony Orbs can be used to cast Moonfall and Sunrise. These two Identity Skills do not have a cooldown.
Moonfall - (Uses 2 Orbs) Strike the ground with a powerful stroke. Temporarily increase Outgoing Damage of all party members within 24 meters.
Sunrise - (Uses 1 Orb) Focus energy and summon a Sun Marble at the target location within 10 meters, which recovers HP. Up to 3 Sun Marbles can be summoned at once, and each Sun Marble lasts for 60s.
      Class Engravings
As an Advanced Class, the Artist features two unique Class Engravings. Full Bloom improves her support capabilities, while Recurrence bolsters her offense.
      Full Bloom
When casting Sunrise, the energy spreads to recover the HP of Party Members within 24 meters of the Artist and Sun Marble:
Level 1 - Recovers up to 7% of the Artist's Max HP.
Level 2 - Recovers up to 11% of the Artist's Max HP.
Level 3 - Recovers up to 15% of the Artist's Max HP.
      Recurrence
Upon using Moonfall or Sunrise, gain an effect that temporarily increases the Artist's Critical Hit Rate and Critical Damage:
Level 1 - Increases Critical Hit Rate by 6% and Critical Damage by 20% for 60 seconds.
Level 2 - Increases Critical Hit Rate by 9% and Critical Damage by 30% for 60 seconds.
Level 3 - Increases Critical Hit Rate by 12% and Critical Damage by 40% for 60 seconds.
      Skills
Stroke: Ink Shower - Concentrate dimensional power into the brush and inflict Damage as you spread your energy.
Stroke: Sprinkle - Concentrate dimensional energy into the brush and then inflict Damage to foes in a cone-shaped area up to 9 meters away.
Stroke: Hopper - Ride the brush and bounce up, draw an arc, and then travel 6 meters. Inflicts Damage to foes around the landing spot before knocking them down. Can be used up to 3 times in a row.
Stroke: One Stroke - Channel dimensional power into the brush and unleash it 12 meters forward to inflict Damage and knock down foes.
Stroke: Upward Stroke - Lunge 2 meters in the target direction and draw a large circle to inflict Damage and send foes airborne. This skill can be used twice in a row.
Paint: Inkrise - Summon an ink swamp within 12 meters of the target location that lasts for 4s. Targets in the swamp receive Damage every 0.5s and suffer Move Speed reduction for 2s.
Paint: Butterfly Dream - Draw orchids and butterflies that inflict Damage to foes up to 8 meters ahead of you. After the butterflies fly forward to inflict Damage, draw orchids and butterflies a second time to deal the same amount of Damage again.
Paint: Drawing Orchids - Unfold a 14-meter-long Artist's Scroll in front of you and push foes back with Damage, then inflict Damage every 0.5s a total of 6 times.
Paint: Pouncing Tiger - Summon a black tiger with the dimensional energy imbued in the ink to inflict Damage and knock foes down.
Paint: Moonsketch - Make a drawing on the ground at the target location within 12 meters for 2s, that unleashes an explosion to inflict Damage and lift foes into the air.
Paint: Starry Night - Concentrate dimensional power into the brush to change the space and inflict Damage every second for 0.6s on foes within a 6-meter radius up to 5 times.
Paint: Door of Illusion - Create a dimensional opening at the target location within 12 meters to teleport one party member to your location. The dimensional opening lasts for 10s, allowing party members to interact with it and travel as far as 32 meters. The transported party member generates a shield that absorbs Damage for 6s.
Paint: Ink Well - Leap and smash the ground with the brush for Damage, then create a puddle of ink that lasts for 3.5s. The ink puddle inflicts Damage over 12 hits, then launches foes in the air upon expiration, dealing additional Damage.
Paint: Sun Well - Create an Artist's Scroll at the target location within 10 meters. The Artist's Scroll lasts 4s, inflicting Damage every 0.5s. Instantly recovers partial MP for all party members within 24m.
Paint: Crane Wing - Draw and summon a crane that attacks foes.
Paint: Sunsketch - Gather dimensional energy into the brush and inflict Damage to nearby foes. Incoming Damage is reduced for all party members within 24 meters.
      Awakening Skills
Masterwork: Spectacle - Summon an 8-meter-wide Artist's Scroll and start drawing to deal Damage 5 times. Any foes caught in the attack are then lifted into the air for additional Damage and inflicted with critical resistance reduction and movement speed reduction.
Masterwork: Efflorescence - Levitate in the swirl of flower petals and inflict Damage to foes within 24 meters. Grant a shield (absorbs Damage) to every ally within range. The Artist also gains 2 Harmony Orbs upon use.
      Progression Events
The following Punika Powerpass, Hyper Express Plus, and Story Express progression events will all run from March 15 to June 14. Unlike prior progression events, this update’s character designation and mission periods are the same.
      Hyper Express Plus
Pairing well with the Punika Powerpass, players will be able to designate one character between item Level 1340 and 1445 on their roster to participate in the Hyper Express Plus Event, where they’ll earn honing materials to quickly level up to Item Level 1445 and beyond. The designated character will earn rewards every 15 Item Levels up to 1445, including a wealth of Silver, honing materials, Gems, Engravings, and even a Legendary Card Selection Pack!
      Engraving Support System
As a new feature available with the Hyper Express Plus, the Engraving Support system lets players choose 4 engravings to be in effect at level 3 during the event. Here’s how to get started:
After selecting a Hyper Express Plus character, the Engraving Support button will light up.
Click the Engraving Support button to open the Engraving Support page and select your 4 desired Engravings.
Press the Activate Engraving Support button to start using their effects.
The effects of Engraving Support will also be shown in your Character Profile.
      Story Express
Clear story missions to level up a character from Item level 1 to Item level 1340 and earn rewards like Item Level 1340 Argos Legendary Gear that will help you progress even further.
You can only have one designated Story Express character per account. If you delete your Story Express character, you will not be able to designate another one.
      New & Returning Log-in Bonuses
This upgraded log-in reward track will support new and returning players with 15 days of rewards to help kickstart their journey through Arkesia. It includes new and improved bonuses including Engraving Recipe Selection Chests (Uncommon to Legendary), a variety of Honing Material Selection Chests, Pheons, and a Legendary - Epic Card Pack.
      Looking Ahead
The Artist and the progression events aren’t all we have planned for the March Update— the 48v48 PvP Tulubik Battlefield releases along with quality of life updates, balance changes, new events, cosmetics, and the third Ark Pass! Stay tuned to PlayLostArk.com and our social media channels for the full list of updates in next week's Release Notes. Until then, we'll see you in Arkesia.

There's a lot going on in January, as Amazon just announced a huge bot banwave which affected the game's concurrent player stats, and next week brings the Witcher crossover event, featuring a brand new island with quests and characters from the franchise, not to mention the cosmetics (including free ones, Twitch drops, and store items)!
      Bots (Source)
      Heroes of Arkesia,
This week, many players have noticed a drop off in the number of concurrent users displayed in Lost Ark’s Steam stats. This change is the direct result of a roll out of a significant number of bot account bans, which utilized new and highly-effective tactics to target and remove bots from the game.
Players should expect these bot bans to have a positive impact on gameplay, including improved Market and Auction House experiences, decreased lag in heavily populated areas, and fewer bots present in the game.
In the coming months, we will continue to deploy large scale bot ban waves, implementing new methods of identifying and actioning against bots en masse. We will keep players updated about the deployment and impacts of these ban waves as they occur.
Thank you for your patience as we continue working to improve Lost Ark.
And the big Witcher January event:
      Witcher Event (Source)
A beautiful island’s festivities have been interrupted by a mystifying vortex. Uncovering the mysteries will lead to encounters with iconic characters from The Witcher on an all-new island and in new event quests! The Lost Ark x The Witcher collaboration and event will begin on January 18 after weekly maintenance, and run until February 22.
As you work with Geralt, Ciri, Dandelion, Yennefer, and Triss through a series of story and daily quests, a variety of Witcher themed items are available as rewards. Quest rewards include Witcher Potions, 3 Jukebox songs, a new Card Set featuring 5 Witcher Characters, a Stronghold structure, Emoticons & Selfie Stickers, and even a Title!
Unlock the all-new event island by speaking with the Guild Investigator in major cities. Participating in the event requires completion of the [Set Sail!] Main Story Quest, which unlocks the ability to sail around Arkesia. With Main Quests & Daily Quests to be completed, players can use the Ocean Liner for quick trips to White Wolf Haven Island.
Gear up like Geralt and Ciri with new Witcher Themed cosmetics found in the in-game store— from a wallpaper to weapon skins to full outfits that add Witcher hairstyles, you’ll strike fear into the heart of all monsters in Arkesia. These special cosmetics aren’t the only way to look Witchery in the new year; a unique Twitch Drop with Witcher-inspired Mokoko skins accompanies the January update. Visit our Twitch Drops page or tune into your favorite Lost Ark content creator on Twitch after the update releases to learn more.

The next big patch arrived to lost Ark on Wednesday, with the huge Brelshaza Legion raid, Summoner class, Caliligos Guardian raid, new tier 3 gear and progression materials, Festivity Island, store updates and a LOT more.
      Patch Notes (Source)
      Heroes of Arkesia,
The December “Wreck the Halls” Update arrives in Arkesia tomorrow. Downtime for the update will begin on December 14 at 12AM PDT (8AM UTC) and is expected to last 4 hours. The road to Brelshaza concludes tomorrow, when the cunning and ruthless Phantom Legion Commander arrives. Brelshaza isn’t the only powerful force arriving in Arkesia— Caliligos, the master of lighting, is available to challenge in a new Guardian Raid, and the Summoner Advanced Class adds a new powerful tool for any player looking to bolster their roster. The new content doesn’t stop with the new raids and a new Advanced Class. New Tier 3 Progression Materials, higher level South Vern ‘Void’ Chaos Dungeons, and Hard T3 Cube & Boss Rush activities (Item Level 1490) arrive along with a new Neria’s Wardrobe, a festive Holiday Event, and a new accessory type; the Bracelet. Find the full list of new content, events, cosmetics, and other updates below!
      Spotlight
      Brelshaza Legion Raid
Face Brelshaza, Commander of the Phantom Legion in an immersive and challenging 8-player Legion Raid spanning 6 unique gates and encounters. The most cunning and ruthless of all the Legion Commanders, she’s known to charm her enemies and inflict them with awful hallucinations. With so many encounters, the Item Level requirements rise every two gates. Here's where your gear will need to be to challenge Phantom Legion Commander Brelshaza:
Phantom Astalgia: Déjà Vu - Item Level 1430
      Gates 1 & 2 - Item Level 1490
      Gates 3 & 4 - Item Level 1500
      Gates 5 & 6 - Item Level 1520
Similar to the “Midnight Circus: Encore” difficulty of the Kakul-Saydon Legion Raid, an easier difficulty is available for players to practice the difficult encounters and mechanics; Phantom Astalgia: Déjà Vu. A special training ground for the Brelshaza Legion Raid will also be opened in Trixion. Phantom Marks will be introduced along with the Legion Raid, along with a new page becoming available at the Legion Raid Exchange NPC where Phantom Marks can be exchanged for rewards.
      Summoner Advanced Class

Despite their delicate constitution, Summoners are a force to be reckoned with in any battle. They call forth elemental spirits to fight for them, each with their own special skills to help the Summoner shine in every situation. With a powerful variety of water, lightning, earth, and more unique attacks, the Summoner is a welcome addition to the roster of available Mage Advanced Classes. The Summoner will join the Bard, Sorceress, and Arcanist as the fourth Mage Advanced Class. Learn more about the Summoner’s Class Identity, Skills, and Engravings in the Summoner Lost Ark Academy.
      Caliligos Guardian Raid

Caliligos is the master of lightning, commanding blue lightning to bring his enemies to their knees. His wings are as swift as wind, and the power of blue thunderbolts concentrate in his horn, sharper than any spears, to pierce the hearts of his enemies. As a ruler of the skies, he was worshipped in the past as a god. But Caliligos is no god— he’s a cruel ruler of the sky and a ruthless guardian. Caliligos will join the gauntlet of Level 6 Guardians. The Item Level requirement to challenge Caliligos is 1490.
Tier 3 Activity & Progression Updates
New T3 Gear & progression materials have been added. A new Relic gear set can be crafted from materials earned in the Brelshaza Legion Raid. Requirements for crafting the new set: Item Level 1490 and complete the "Kill the Legion Commanders and leave the gear behind" achievement, which requires: Regardless of the set, equip 6 pieces of Demon Beast and Covetous Legion Commander Relic gear at the same time.
The new Relic gear can be honed up to Lv. 20, raising the maximum Item Level from 1575 to 1590. The honing success rate will be different from existing Legion Raid gear.
The new Relic gear has the same set effect as existing Legion Raid Relic gear.
If you gear transfer an existing Legion Raid Relic gear piece into the new Relic gear, the gear quality will also be transferred. If the gear to transfer into has a higher quality, the quality will stay the same. Artisan's Energy, honing XP, and increase in success rate after fail are not transferred. After transfer is complete, the gear that you used will have a honing level of 0.
Added new progression materials that can be used to hone the new Relic gear set:
      Obliteration Stone
      Protection Stone
      Marvelous Honor Leapstone
      Superior Oreha Fusion Material
The new progression materials can be earned from the new Void Chaos Dungeons, Caliligos Guardian Raid, Challenge Guardian Raid, Challenge Abyssal Dungeon, Stronghold Crafting and Research, the Brelshaza Legion Raid, and Una’s Quests.
T3 Hall of the Sun (Hard) Boss Rush and T3 Dimension Cube (Hard) both arrive in the Wreck the Hall Update. Both requiring Item Level 1490 for entry, these new difficulties will challenge heroes with a gauntlet of new enemies— but with bigger challenge comes bigger rewards.
Added two new South Vern Void Chaos Dungeons. With new progression materials, Bracelets, along with the standard Chaos Dungeon rewards, there’s plenty of rewards for clearing the new Void levels. Item Level requirements:
      Void 1 - Item Level 1490
      Void 2 - Item Level 1520
      General
      New Bracelet Accessory
The new Bracelet accessory increases character stats, and has perks, but doesn’t have Engravings slotted into it like other accessories. Bracelets have fixed bonuses and granted bonuses. Fixed bonuses are granted at random when you obtain a bracelet and cannot be changed. Granted bonuses can be added or changed through Bracelet Specialist NPC, who can be found in major cities across Arkesia! Bracelets can be earned from the Brelshaza Legion Raid, Caliligos Guardian Raid, and South Vern’s new Void Chaos dungeon.
      Bot Prevention Updates
We know that bots have been causing frustration within the community, and we share in that frustration. As we wage the war on bots infiltrating Arkesia, we’re continuing to try new methods. In this update, we’ve worked together with Smilegate RPG on new prevention measures.
To prevent bots from negatively impacting the player-driven economy, we’ve updated the list of economic and social systems restricted from accounts that haven’t achieved a trusted status in Lost Ark. Previously, untrusted accounts were prevented from accessing economic and social features such as initiating player-to-player trades and sending player mail. With the prevention updates, untrusted accounts will now be restricted from the Auction House, Market, Loot Auctions, Stronghold Gifting, and all player-to-player trading. We’ve banned millions of bot accounts over the past few months, and have additional ban waves planned to purge existing bot accounts.
The path to earn trusted status won’t change, and these updates will only affect newly created accounts after the update. Existing Lost Ark players will not be impacted. New adventurers arriving in Arkesia can earn their trusted status in multiple ways, and can choose the path that’s right for them. The first option is for new players to enable the Steam Guard mobile authenticator, and have a Steam profile that’s no longer a ‘Limited User’ account. This is an easy path that won’t require making any Lost Ark purchases. Alternatively, new players can also receive trusted status by making any purchase in Lost Ark through either Steam or Amazon. You can learn more about the Steam Guard mobile authenticator here, and learn about Steam’s trusted status here.
Two other updates are also included in this update to prevent bots from negatively impacting the player-driven economy:
Converted some quest rewards from Gold to Silver.
Added a daily 20 item registration limit per Roster for the Auction House and Market.
As we continue our quest to rid Arkesia of bots, we understand it may affect new players who install after the update. We’re keeping a close eye out for feedback, so please continue to share your experiences with us on the forums. We appreciate your patience as we continue working to bring the best possible Lost Ark experience to our players.
