Military Quarter Heroic Mage Decks

1 post in this topic

I like finding ways to beat all the heroic bosses using one class, this week I was hoping for warrior but that wasn't working out so I decided mage would be best.

Instructor Razuvious:

Unfortunately I wasn't able to beat this one with mage so I opted for Icy's Priest deck (which I had to alter it a little because I didn't have some of the cards). It took a few tries but after getting the right hand I was able to defeat him, thoughtsteal was awesome if you happen to steal his weapon. Shall I become triumphant with a mage deck, I will update the post.

Gothik the Harvester:

Goal for this one, live until hes out of cards. Mage is good for this one because of the plentiful AOE's and Freezes. Also, you can destroy those pesky spectral minions with your own hero power.  The strategy is to take out his minions before you worry about him. When you get the spectral minions, either use sunfury protector to taunt them or use the silences on them.

2x Mirror Image
2x Voodoo Doctor
2x Frostbolt
2x Ironbeak Qwl
2x Sunfury Protector
2x Arcane Intellect
2x Frost Nova
1x Ice Barrier
1x Mirror Entity
1x Vaporize
2x Earthen Ring Farseer
2x Fireball
2x Polymorph
2x Spellbreaker
2x Blizzard
1x Argent Commander
2x Flamestrike

I might have switched Mirror Entity for another Ice Barrier but in this case it worked in my favor and gave me an Abomination which cleared the board for me after both Abominations died.

Baron Rivendare:

This one was pretty simple, I packed a few AOE's to take out the first 3 horsemen, (though I ended up killing them one by one because I wasn't dealt many AOE's at first). I also made sure to have plenty of single target freeze cards if his weapon got out of hand.

2x Arcane Missles
2x Ice Lance
2x Mirror Image
2x Mana Wyrm
2x Voodoo Doctor
2x Arcane Explosion
2x Frostbolt
2x Acidic Swamp Ooze
2x Kobold Geomancer
2x Arcane Intellect
2x Frost Nova
1x Ice Barrier
1x Vaporize
2x Earthen Ring Farseer
2x Fireball
1x Argent Commander
1x Flamestrike

He did a number on me before I got control and I was down to 5 health before I had killed the last horseman. Healing cards saved me.

The Americas Region HCT Spring Playoffs will take place over the weekend of 27-28 May 2017.
The HCT Spring playoffs for the Europe region was completed last weekend, with Hoej, Kolento, Neirea, and Rdu qualifying for the Global Championship next month.
This weekend is the turn of the Americas region, and the reaction last week is that many players have submitted very greedy control decks in their lists. The players who have submitted the greediest lists will be well placed in the control mirror matches, but those same players will need to dodge the handful of Aggro lineups that are out there.
To find out if your favourite player has qualified, you can check the standings here. The top 64 and ties made it to the main event, along with 8 Tavern Heroes. The event can be seen on the official Twitch channel from 8am PDT on Day One and 9am PDT on Day Two.

      NA - Zul'jin - Horde - <Consider This> 10/10N 10/10 H
Consider This, you don't want to stop raiding but you don't want to be so hardcore of a player. That is exactly what this recently reformed guild is for! We are looking to rebuild our guild with like-minded individuals that don't take themselves too seriously. Many of the members of this guild are people who have raided before and looking to get back into it. We are looking to be a big friendly group that enjoys each others company. Our core members have been together since Legion launched and looking for newcomers so we can be ready to get AotC and ToS when it comes out.
We Raid on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30pm PST to 11:00pm PST
      What we need:
          Healers: All
DPS: Rogues, Paladins, Mage, Hunters, and Priests.
      Required:
           Discord
We are NOT looking for perfectionism (occasional death is not the end of the world). We are also perfectly fine teaching people mechanics to new and old members. Switching realms is NOT required although appreciated. There is no trial or second team. Tuesday is our full clear of normal to gear people up and Thursday is where we try to progress in H NH.
If anyone is interested please message me iotFlow#1742 or Septeract#1294 on battlenet or respond to this forum. Thank you for your time.

A new mini-series of funny shorts has started, and we already have 2 episodes out! Mulligans sees an ordinary guy complete the quests that everyday life throws his way with the help of some unusual friends: Uther, Jaina, and Gul’dan. See them battle printer problems and who gets to ride shotgun in the first two episodes:

The Europe Spring Playoffs and Championship took place over the weekend of May 20-21, which decided not only the new Europe Champion, but also the four players who would represent Europe at the Global Spring Championship in Shanghai next month.
After seven rounds of Swiss, the top eight players cut to a knockout phase. The results of which were as follows:
        Hoej beat   FibEli3
        Neirea beat   INER
        Rdu beat   Casie
        Kolento beat   StanCifka
This means that Hoej, Neirea, Rdu, and Kolento will represent Europe in the Global Championship. The top eight being so strong is a sign that the metagame is in a healthy place. All of the players were already known to be among the best in Europe, and despite their lineups differing substantially, they were still able to make it through.
Hoej went on to take the title, beating Kolento 3-0 in the final. Hoej has been touted as one of the best players in Europe for some time, but traditionally has brought Control decks to major events. This time around, he brought a very aggressive lineup, and was rewarded for his willingness to adapt his style to the meta.
The deck archetypes that each player brought to the event are listed below:
Hoej: Aggro Druid, Secret Mage, Murloc Paladin, Pirate Warrior
Kolento: Jade Druid, Midrange Paladin, Quest Rogue, Quest Warrior
Neirea: Jade Druid, Discover Mage, Quest Rogue, Quest Warrior
Rdu: Aggro Druid, Face Hunter, Aggro Shaman, Pirate Warrior
The next four players to qualify for the Global Championship will be decided next week, with the Americas Spring Championships.
