What We Know So Far About the Dragonflight Pre-Patch Events Based on Datamining

Recommended Posts

Find out what we know so far about the Dragonflight pre-launch events based on datamining!

When Will the Dragonflight Pre-Patch Events Start?

If the supposed leaked internal document is correct, the Dragonflight pre-patch and the events should start on October 25, 2022, culminating in the expansion's release on November 28, 2022.

Feat of Strength Achievement Tied to Dragonflight Pre-Launch Events

A Feat of Strength achievement tells us more about the pre-patch events. We learn there are multiple events and each requires the player to defeat one elemental lord. I assume it's going to be 1 boss per week until Dragonflight launches and they will work similarly to Primalist Invasions.

  • Against the Elements Against the Elements Defeat each of the elemental lords during the Dragonflight pre-launch events.
    • Unbridled Storm Lord
    • Raging Fire Lord
    • Rumbling Earth Lord
    • Glacial Ice Lord

Dragonflight Pre-Launch Events Currency

You will farm Primeval Essence Primeval Essences that will drop from elites and mobs near the elemental lords. The elemental lord will drop a hefty chunk of Primeval Essence Primeval Essence and also loot. We've datamined the following ilvl 280 items potentially tied to the pre-launch events:

Dragonflight Pre-Launch Catch-Up Gear

Two Storm Vendors tied to the pre-patch event will sell gear for Primeval Essence Primeval Essence in capital cities. They've been on the Alpha for a while but mysteriously vanished in the latest Beta build or the build before (I'm not exactly sure when, but I just checked and they weren't spawned on Beta).

Storm Hunter William is the Alliance vendor found in Stormwind and Storm Huntress Suhrakka is the Horde vendor found in Orgrimmar.

The vendors sell item level 252 gear for Primeval Essence Primeval Essence.

How Much Primeval Essence Does the Dragonflight Catch-Up Gear Cost?

The gear you buy with Primeval Essence isn't Bind-to-Account, and the prices vary depending on the armor slot. The prices are currently as follows:

I'll probably end up doing this event on a handful of alts but I am curious since the npc's are in the main cities does this mean the event will be close/nearby for participation?

I've heard that Soulbind/covenant abilities won't be active outside of Shadowlands. I wonder when the Legendary effects will be disabled - pre-patch or launch?

Currently, on the Dragonflight Beta, you won't reach Level 70 just by completing the campaign. You also need to run dungeons or complete side quests.
The first gating occurs in Azure Span where you need to be Level 66 to continue the Dragonflight campaign. However, you will be safe if you complete at least 3 dungeons at Level 60 and higher and you won't need to complete any side quests.
The second gating, however, is more noticeable and you will need to reach Level 70 to be able to start the final two chapters of the Dragonflight campaign.

Dragonflight includes a ton of side quests that you can easily find by opening the map for each zone and they reward you with reputation that increases your Renown with the main factions, so you would probably complete them anyway.

What do you think about gating the main campaign behind levels? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!

On live servers, the Frog'it World Quest required for "From A to Zereth", is currently available in the US region.
If you've been waiting a long time for the quest to spawn, you can now complete it on live servers, at least in the US region, according to reports.
Completing the quest is required for From A to Zereth, and ultimately, the Back from the Beyond meta-achievement that will be removed from the game soon.
From A to Zereth rewards the Cryptic Aurelid mount.

The maximum skill cap for Professions is increasing to 450 in Wrath Classic. Professions provide the player with various beneficial buffs in the latest Classic installment. Alchemy, for example, gives you Mixology that increases flask and elixir stats and duration.
