BrM Heroic SoO Help

8 posts in this topic

Hello all! My name is Brewmaster Karrotkake, and I need your help!

My character can be found here

So my guild has been progressing slowly through Heroic SoO for the past 2-3 months, with me tanking alongside a blood DK. Over the course of this time I have tried many different builds, for the most part Mastery/Stamina.

I have recently made the decision to switch to Crit/Haste, based on the recommendation of some guides, websites etc, as well as some other monks on the server. One problem I am having however, is the amount of haste I should be using in order to get the most out of my character. I have seen the term "stack haste until comfortable" used a great deal, but where would be a good starting point? looking through different websites and guides I've seen haste from as low as 4500, to as high as 10-11k!.

So I ask you, good people of icy-veins, how do YOU build your Brewmaster monks? As for AskMrRobot, what stat weights do you personally use in order to push as much out of your character as possible?

Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

Hi There  ,

I use the Mr Robot crit build(link to my main monk in signature) and then i set the stamina weights to low. Stamina is completely useless for a BrM and gives us no benefit whatsoever.

As for the haste its is a comfort/practice thing. I know i can maintain a rotation and shuffle with 4500 haste. But i also know that im going to be tanking H Garrosh so i will probably need to be purifying more so will benefit from a little more haste.

IMO anything more than probably 6500 haste is too much for a BrM.

As for tips, if you could ling some warcraftlogs of you in action we can have a look and give some feedback.

Happy Killing :)

Hey Brewmonksta, thanks for the advice concerning haste, I've set the stamina weights low as you suggested, and have decided to go for roughly 5500, as it would allow for the extra purifying on certain fights. I've been meaning to set up WarcraftLogs for a while now, and I believe this gives me some reason for doing so. I shall set it up and start recording logs for this weeks raids, to see what areas I can improve in.

On another note, looking at your linked character, I can see that you are dual-wielding rather than using a 2h. Is this something I should also be looking into? I have access to any 1h agility weapon that drops at the moment, as my old main was the only rogue in the guild.

Thanks again in advance!

The 1 Handers provide "more" dps due to the extra dancing steel enchant, more melee swings giving the potential to proc rppm trinkets more/faster.

Its not a Huge differerence but given equal ilvl and stat budgets for 1H vs 2H you would go for the 1 Handers. ie i wouldnt go down in ilvl just to get an extra enchant.

No - ill attempt to clarify.

Same ilvl and same/similar stats go for 1Handers.

DO NOT go down in ilvl just to use 1Handers.

Always take into account the stats that are o n the weapons and go for the weapons that give you the best overall increase to your stats/attackpower etc.

Example

The Immerseus staff has expertise and crit. Both stats are great for a BrM.

The Protectors fist weapons are hit Crit. Hit is good depending on the other gear you have to help reach caps. Crit is  desirable as BrM.

However the Iron Jugg Maces, paragons axes have more desirble BrM stats so in that situation i would go for 2 normal 1H of these instead of the normal staff from immerseus.

Given the choice between these I would therefore not switch from a normal immerseus staff to the fist weapons unless the fist weapons were of heroic/heroic wf quality.

The protectors fist weapons are hit crit, which is very desirable as long as you don't have too much hit elsewhere.

Good afternoon!

As already mentioned, I've personally found that if you favour going Crit, then 2x1h's works out a lot better in terms of stacking your elusive brew procs efficiently.

I personally switched to 2h when we hit heroics as I switched to a balance between mastery & crit. Haste I've never really ever forged for as you only really need as much so that your stagger will not fall off.

      What We Need:
We are currently recruiting ranged and melee DPS as well as 1-2 healers.
      Raid Times:
We raid Tuesday & Wednesday (We add Thursday for new raid content for 2-3 months, for progression) from 7-9pm PST. We use Discord for voice chat and for our guild "website"
      Who We Are:
<Stasis> is a newly formed semi-hardcore (in that we're hardcore in attitude, but understand IRL comes first) guild from the ashes of an older guild.  We have the core, and need to expand upon it.  We've managed to meet, and surpass our previous guild in less than a week of raiding together.  We're open to those who want to apply but aren't willing to transfer just yet, to try it out.
      Progression:
We are currently 10/10 in Heroic Nighthold.
      WoWProgress: https://www.wowprogress.com/guild/us/azuremyst/Stasis
      If Interested:
PST to Diio, Niteshadeth, Faewin, Liveha, or Stonesed in-game.  If you can't get ahold of any of us, send a PM here.

      Currently seeking
We are currently looking to bolster our range damage dealer ranks, but we are always on the lookout for skilled players of all classes/specs
The classes we are currently recruiting:
Hunter    Mage    Shadow priest    Elemental shaman    Warlock    Balance druid
      Who are we?
<Andromeda>  is a 2 nights heroic raiding guild located on Stormrage eu. While the atmosphere in the guild is friendly and social, we do strive and focus on progression during our raid nights. We also run mythic+ during our free evenings. While we have a stable roaster we are looking to expand our raiding team and if we fill our ranks we will not shy away from going into mythic raiding.
<Andromeda>  was  re-formed for the start of WoD and cleared each raid instance on heroic, and are looking to do the same in Legion. We are composed of a tight-knit group of old friends, most of whom have played together since vanilla or early expansions. A lot of us are former "hardcore" raiders, but are now pursuing a more relaxed and fun approach to raiding and WoW. If you're a former member from the Vanilla/TBC days, then you will probably recognise a few old faces and names! We like to organise other activities within the guild aside from raiding and mythic+, like quiz games on our mumble server where you can win different awards and the occasional IRL meetup.
Many of our members have variable work commitments (travel abroad for work, rotas (e.g. doctors/EMTs etc)) and we appreciate this is reflective of the wider community. As such, we do have an understanding if you sometimes can't show up for raid due to work or important exam in your study, but we do expect you to have a high attendance.
      What we offer
A guild with a friendly and social atmosphere both inside and outside raids while we still keep a sense of professionalism during progression on new bosses. Consistent raid progression Mythic+ runs during our free nights where you are more than welcome to join in on runs for the weekly bounty chest or want to push for higher and higher keystones to see how far we can push it each week. A guild bank that will have you covered if you don't always have time to farm before raids. Different guild events such a wow quizzes where you can win prices from our guildbank Our progress:
      7/7H Emerald Nightmare
      3/3H Trial of Valor
      10/10H Nighthold
What would be expected of you?
What we do ask is that our members are familiar with tactics on new bosses, adapt to changes and handle constructive feedback. Have fully gemmed/enchanted their gear, bring flasks and food. However, further to the above, we keep the guildbank stocked with free-of-charge "emergency" consumables to help those with busy schedules that sometimes don't have the time to farm before a raid.
      Raid times
      Tuesdays 21:00-23:00
      Sundays 20:00-23:00
(If we are close to a kill and people can stay, we will extend the raid for 30 min)
      Where do I sign up?!
Fill the application on the bottom of the page and send it to andromedarecruits@gmail.com . If you have any questions or would like to know more about our guild? Just whisper one of our members and ask to be pointed towards an officer (or whisper Jaegra (Aegon#2370), Garantine (euphrati#2822), Hisui (Rena#2140), Justifier (Justifier#2179) or Selenelion (PipSedai#2926) directly).
      Trails
If your application get accepted and you are invited to our guild you will start your journey as a trail member that will last 4 weeks, during your trail period you will be getting feedback on your performance from our officers and members.
      Application

Can you keep high attendance for our raids?
(If you have work or study that will sometimes interfere with our raids, this is where you tell us about it)

What can you offer our guild?
(What can you as player bring to our raid and guild)
Why did you choose to apply to our guild?
(Describe why you want to join our guild)

Threat Level Midnight is a Heroic only raiding guild, we raid Sunday nights from 7-11 EST.  Most of the guild is real life friends who at some point or other have played the game at a pretty hardcore level, but do to real life commitments have settled on limiting ourselves to one night a week heroic content.  We have a very laid back and friendly atmosphere.  We're currently recruiting people that fit into this type of play.
We typically run a 10-15 man raid size but try to push closer to 15 whenever possible due to how punishing some of the boss mechanics are on a small raid size.  We're looking to bolster our raid roster to continue farming NH and go into ToS strong.
      Current recruitment needs:
Ranged DPS:  Currently a large need, looking to pick up 3-4 ranged dps.  Anyone that can offspec heal or tank is an added bonus.
Healer:  We need 1 solid healer that excels at raid healing.  Built up dps/tank spec is always a plus.
DPS with tank offspec:  One of our tanks is in the military and has to miss a few raids every couple of months so someone who enjoys both DPSing and tanking who can fill in when needed
All exceptional players with the right attitude are always welcome to join.  We play the game to kick back and have fun, its an MMO so the more people we can do that with the more enjoyable it is for everyone.  Our guild activity specifically peaks around 8pm till late night hours Sat-Mon.
If this sounds like a good fit for you or if you have any questions feel free to add me on either Bnet(Cahones#1561) or Discord(Cahones#3167).  Look forward to hearing from you!

Myself and a group of friends are looking for a Heroic only guild with skilled players who don't have the time or effort to put into Mythic raiding. Tried the Mythic life for a while and was just too much. Looking for a guild who can quickly clear content and work on other progression methods throughout the week (Mythic +).
Have a group of 4-5 people, Tank, Healer, and Melee/ranged DPS. (All 900+ ilvl with at least 10/10H exp.) Roles are flexible. Message me for more details!

Welcome all, my name is Ethankey, I am the GM of The Speakeasy Tavern. We are an Alliance semi-hardcore raiding guild on Darkspear. Some of you might know me from speed runs and pugs I run regularly. We are looking for a few key roles to round out our roster in the weeks leading up to ToS. If you haven’t locked in a permanent spot on anyone’s raid roster we would love to talk to you and see if you are what we’re looking for. We are an extremely laid back group and we always have fun together. We are mainly an adult guild but are not biased as long as the maturity level is kept.
Current Raid Schedule: Progression raiding Fri-Sat 9pm EST. – 1am (7pm st-11pm st) and optional Sunday run at same time if needed. We also do alt/ap runs on Tues. 10 pm Est. (8pm st) along with M+ all week.

      Requirements:
      • Attendance, all raiders are expected to show up for raid nights and be there 15 minutes prior for invite.
      • 890+ ilvl for Heroic nh
      • 900+ ilvl for mythic nh
      • General knowledge of the current fight.
      • Working headset and mic.
      • All required ad ons installed. DBM, RcLoot council, gtfo, healers have to die.
      Recruiting: as of 4/25/17
      Tanks, Warlock, Boomkin,
      Melee Dps ,Healers
Any strong Dps should also apply.

      What to expect:
We provide a fun raiding environment with minimal stress. We down bosses at a consistent rate. Expect to laugh and be laughed at when mistakes are made. Wow is still a video game and we want to have fun. Also expect to be serious when the time is called for since we still want to be productive and make the most of our time. We expect our raider to periodically contribute to the guild bank, since we make cauldron and feasts for most raids. We will do whats best for the raid with no favoritism.
      What we expect:
      • We expect our raider’s to periodically contribute to the guild bank, since we make cauldrons and feasts for most raids. You come out way cheaper than providing for yourself.
      • If you can’t make raid times, you to give an officer an advanced notice. In game mail is acceptable. This allows us to provide a more consistent raid.
