Mythic+ Tier List in Dragonflight Season 1 (Week 8)

Recommended Posts

FBozSEo.png

We've looked at this week's Mythic+ Tier List based on the data from Subcreation.

DISCLAIMER

The following post is based on statistics provided by Subcreation, a website that gathers various Mythic+ data from live servers. Please note that the tier list is biased toward the top end because it only looks at the top 100 keys per dungeon per affix and ignores keys below +16 and untimed runs.

For the reasons mentioned above, the data presented here will always differ from the Mythic Tier Lists maintained by Petko.

Data Reliability

The data used in the post comes from Subcreation, a site maintained by Alcaras. Subcreation provides statistical analysis of Mythic+ dungeons, raids, and PvP in Shadowlands, and the data is provided via the Warcraft Logs API and Raider.io. If you'd like to support Subcreation, you can check out their Patreon.

How the Data is Calculated

The site looks at the top 100 keys per dungeon per affix across all regions and examines their raider.io scores. For each dungeon and specialization, the site takes the lower bound of a 95% confidence interval of the top 100 runs for each specialization. The site then averages these lower bounds, one per dungeon, to get an overall average lower bound for each spec, which is finally used to create the tier list.

The site takes the lower bounds of the 95% confidence interval calculated and then clusters them into 6 buckets using the Ckmeans algorithm. You can find more information by reading the site's FAQ.

Tanks, Healers, Melee, and Ranged are all on the same scale. They're just shown separately for easier comparison across roles.

Mythic+ Tier List for Dragonflight Season 1: Week #8

The specs are ranked based on their lb_ci which stands for the lower bound of a 95% confidence interval. If a certain tier is missing, it's not occupied by any specialization.

The following tier list is for this week's affixes: Tyrannical, Spiteful, Quaking, and Thundering.

Yeah so much for the ele shaman buff, a lot of good it did us! If we would of gotten a single target buff like we needed, then maybe we would of been a lil higher on the list.

WoW prot pala S tier from last weeks B tier. What happend over a week?

Nothing. But the number of Warriors that do these high keys is finite, so they go to the next in line, which pushes pala up.

Again, as many wrote already, this should be named "the Top 100 Keys" list and not a Tier list. Because it isnt. Its minmaxing in the top end.

Sure, there´s a big red disclaimer, but nonetheless these "Tier lists" produce nothing but toxicity.

Tyrannical, Spiteful, and Quaking with Thundering I can see where these are hindering some of the classes.  But it does not change the meta mindset when pugging keys below a 16.  With Tyrannical you want to bring classes with strong single target dps for the Boss encounters.  Spiteful you can run away from the spirit or just cc it when attempting the next trash pack.  Quaking only interupts a handful of classes that are either casting/channeling selective skills for uptime.  Add Thundering to the mix and you can either have a positive outcome and have clean fights or bad rng during a certain boss mechanic and start having deaths/wipes.  For the higher keys above +16 it starts being more or less synergy and unison of specific utility per Dungeon encounter.  For lesser keys you can just about get away with any class combination if players are willing to work as a team.

Warbands are pretty great and solve a lot of issues players have had in previous expansions, but "just" making most things account-wide and offering a separate bank, among other things, wasn't enough!
As MrGM found out, there's a new set of achievements aimed at helping players with alts, as each character you get to level 80 (the new maximum in the expansion) will give you a 5% experience boost for the next characters you level. The  Warband Mentors: The War Within set of achievements even stacks up to 5 times, so each subsequent character you get to 80 will increase the buff, all the way to 25%! The buff is Warband-wide, so any character you level after that will get the buff.

Making it easier to level alts is always a welcome change, and this is really making us love Warbands even more!

Here's another nice addition to the game coming in the new expansion, with some really interesting mole mounts being added! Keyboardturn found all their variations and their mount special animations as well, so let's take a look.
      And here's the mount special:

Unfortunately ground mounts are getting very out-classed with the Dynamic Riding feature, but we're still hoping for that rumored dynamic ground mounts feature! Perhaps these could dig down and move below ground?

Game Director Ion Hazzikostas has confirmed that the Dracthyr race will have more class options in The War Within. However, this feature may not be ready in time for the expansion's launch.
This update was highlighted in a tweet by MrGM, who shared insights from a London content creator interview about the Dracthyr.
The plan is to introduce the ability for Dracthyr to play as other classes in War Within. Emphasis on playing in Visage form. Required animations for other classes are actively being worked on. The implementation is unlikely to happen at launch, but targeted for early in the expansion cycle. Placeholder for tweet 1780748422066188399
