Square Enix has released the first major patch for Final Fantasy XVI, patch 1.03, which brings a number of improvements to the game.

The update fixes some major bugs while also adding some functionalities that were requested by the players.

Generally, it is recommended to install the update before playing.

This update:

• Adds the following options to the System tab of the Main Menu:
  • Motion Blur Strength: Allows the player to adjust the strength of the motion blur effect when the character or camera is in motion. The default setting is the maximum of 5. This can be lowered to reduce the strength of the motion blur effect, or set to 0 to turn it off completely.
  • Player Follow (Movement): Turning this setting off prevents the camera from automatically following the player while moving.
  • Player Follow (Attack): Turning this setting off prevents the camera from automatically following the player while attacking.
• Changes the maximum setting of the Camera Sensitivity (Horizontal) and Camera Sensitivity (Vertical) items from 10 to 20.
• Adds three new controller layouts: types D, E, and F.
• Corrects an issue that affected the stability of some menus.
• Corrects some text issues.
• Adds the hashtag #FF16 when sharing screenshots or video clips on Twitter or YouTube.

The patch notes were announced by Square Enix on their official Twitter account. The update is available now for PS5 users, and is about 1.3 GB in size. 

So far, the patch has been well received by fans who appreciate the option to adjust or disable motion blur, which was a source of annoyance for many players.

I understand why this won't be on x box at launch but excluding PC players? Keep the childish console wars between the consoles and leave the pc players out of it!

PC players have always supported FF and are a big part of the FF 14 player base. So this is how you treat them? For shame....

 I personally won't spend any money with them until they stop the exclusivity bs. There are many good games from companies that are not greedy and petty. This is the age of inclusion- that exclusivity stuff is a relic of greedy companies from the past, let it go and grow.
