A Familiar Face Spotted in Dawn of the Infinite Cinematic

Recommended Posts

If you played through Dawn of the Infinite, you've most likely seen the end cinematic with Iridikron, but the community has spotted another familiar face in there. The following post contains spoilers.

After briefly talking to Chromie about the titans, Iridikron with the Essence of Galakrond opens a void portal to an unknown location.

Whilst Iridikron is entering the portal, we briefly catch a glimpse of an Elven silhouette very similar to that of Xal'atath, as you can see below.

This looks like Blizzard is setting us up for a void-themed expansion using Iridikron as a bridge between expansions (similar to Gul'dan) with Xal'atath playing an unknown role as well.

If you played in Legion and Battle for Azeroth, you've most likely remember Xal'atath as a sentient entity tied to the Priest Artifact Weapon.

In case you've missed the cinematic we're talking about here, check out the following video to refresh your memory.

Do you think Blizzard will reveal a void-themed expansion at BlizzCon? Let us know in the comments!

If it's Void-themed, I hope it isn't in its entirety. We already had like three expansions with significant Old God presence (Cataclysm, MoP, BfA) and they were present in others to some extent as well. This lore is becoming too repetitive.

Just a female NE silhouette. Could be pre-squid Azshara?

The hair matches both of them so it could be. Both also escaped through a void portal, so it's not like Azshara completely abandoned the void after all those shenanigans. But it's exactly because of that that I find it highly unlikey for this to be Azshara: if she's indeed still meddling with void powers then it wouldn't make sense for her to change back into a Night Elf. I think that's her permanent form now and she'd also have no reason to somehow hide it here.

But if anything this almost feels like we're getting a Void Loser League. It's not actually that farfetched to think that Azshara, Iridikron and Xal'atath are teaming up in the void. Azshara was last heard saying she'd claim the "true throne of power" for herself before disappearing in a void portal, something that Iridikron and Xal'atath are probably also interested in.

IamEllekk recreated Eversong Woods using Houdini and Blender and here's the result.
As you can see in the below image, we have the characteristic Blood Elf architecture and the Burning Crystal.

We're back in the department of fortunate loot drops, this time, with Tindral Sageswift dropping four copies of the same item.
Tindral blessed a very lucky raid group with 4 pieces of Eternal Kindler's Greatstaff. While this isn't the record-breaking group who looted 5 Smoldering Seedlings from Larodar, it's still nice to see good old Tindral handing so many copies of the same item!
