Amirdrassil RWF Day 3: a Big Day, 6/9 and a 160 Million HP Buff

We're heading towards the end of splits season, and day 3 was a big one despite the fact that most top guilds still very much weren't done with the gearing process. We saw some World Firsts and a very sneaky 160 million boss HP buff from pull to pull, so let's dive in!

The EU day was mostly uneventful, with some Gnarlroot Mythic kills, as a top 10 formed around the time the NA guilds came back from their rest. The guilds started pushing deeper into Mythic in the EU evening, and we started getting some World seconds on bosses 2, 3 and 4. During this time we also found out about Blizzard's big change to distance checking addons, as they were no longer working after a hotfix. Soon we had 2 guilds catching up with Instant Dollars' progress from the day before, with even BDG (who finished Aberrus in 4th place) getting into the raid and downing the four bosses. It was Instant Dollars, Honolulu and BDG at 4/9 as the $ came back and started raiding again. They were soon out in front again as Nymue didn't last too long, some 15 pulls, and the 5/9 was complete.

You can check out the full pull and raid composition here.

Meanwhile, Liquid had finally gotten out of their regular Heroic splits and Mythic+ runs! And where did they go next? Why, Fyrakk Heroic, of course! The boss also got some buffs on Heroic specifically in today's hotfix batch, so the splits were going to take a little longer, and there were 17 of them planned!

Instant Dollars now had to face a foe they moved away from once before, as they had to get past Keeper of the Flame Larodar to progress. They had tried him for a few pulls and decided he was a bit much the day before, but now he was the only game in town. This proved to be a pretty challenging fight, as it took the guild around 3 hours and 24 pulls to best him. They did manage to skip the sub-1% drama wipes though! This brought Instant Dollars up to FIVE World Firsts in Amirdrassil, and no matter what happens next, they will definitely be the guild with the most WFs in this tier.

You can check out the full kill pull and raid composition here.

Although they were quite sleepy already, ID did decide to take a stab at Smolderon, and it seems Blizzard took that personally! As the guild reached the boss... you know what? Let's just watch the clip:

Yup. The boss went from 1.28 Billion HP to 1.44B right after the reset pull, as Blizzard seem to have pushed the "oh boy, they're-a comin' " button and buffed the boss health by around 13%! A very hot fix indeed. Now, the fact that the boss got buffed isn't uncommon at all, it's just the hilarity of the timing that was so great here.

At the end of the day we did not see Liquid venture into Mythic, as they did do all their Fyrakk splits but headed to M+ afterwards instead. GM Max did have this to say about tomorrow's raid:

We did however see a lot of guilds push deeper into Mythic, as we have Instant Dollars with the big lead on 5/9, then a really impressive 7 guilds on 4/9: Consequence, xD, Imperative, Honolulu, BDG, Vesper and Vulgar. Another 7 have three bosses down (with the Gnarlroot/Igira/Volcoross combo being the meta), 9 guilds with two down, and 51 that felled the tree at the entrance.

And finally, here's a look at the top guild item levels, all of which are certainly very small compared to what Liquid, Echo and Method have cooking:

And that was it for day 3. If you want to keep up with all the progress live, as both Liquid and Echo WILL be in Amirdrassil Mythic tomorrow, you can always follow Raider.IO's coverage.

We're looking at how many raid bosses each World of Warcraft expansion has introduced.
This chart, created by Reddit user throwaway4201251315, lays out the count of raid bosses across all WoW expansions, including Dragonflight.

The chart's fine details are hard to make out, but it's clear that the original Vanilla version launched with the highest number of raid bosses (about 55-60), whereas Dragonflight had the fewest (around 25-30), a figure similar to what we saw in Cataclysm. Notably, Blizzard's decision to skip .3 patches and the introduction of Fated Raids have contributed to a declining trend in the number of raid bosses in both Shadowlands and Dragonflight.
It seems that players generally prefer raids with 8-9 bosses, finding larger raids like Ny'alotha and Sepulcher to be exhausting.

Collecting mounts really has become as much of a part of WoW as raiding, dungeons, questing and PvP at this point, as players constantly want more and more. Today we're taking a look at another hirumaredx video, this time focusing on the 10 rarest mounts players can still obtain today!
While I'm sure this list will be disputed, it's still fun to see what could be considered some of the most rare rides on Azeroth, especially if you happen to own one already! The list is based off of both drop chances and actual difficulty to obtain, as the first one is basically a 100% "drop", but will take a long time to get.

The axe-wielding, tree-burning dragon has a sense of humor, as he will laugh at anyone that dies to his fire during the raid encounter (and you get an achievement if you didn't get it before!
The Still Standing in the Fire achievement came along with patch 10.1 and Fyrakk Assaults. It was a little tricky to get as you had to find where to stand and die to the fire, which didn't really 1-shot you. Luckily with 10.2, it got a whole lot easier (well, for raiders anyway). The achievement is named after the original, where Deathwing had to kill you either during the Dragon Soul raid or when he was breathing all over Azeroth.
As spotted by ah_kooky_kat, dying to Fyrakk in the raid also triggers the achievement, and he still laughs at you!

The very old-school WeakAura in the screenshot also got a lot of attention the the thread below.
