Monk: Windwalker Also, in order to be able to join our main team straight away, you need to meet the requirements for our current progress, which are around 245+ item level equipped.
We are also open to discuss a possible merge and get a smaller group or guild that is struggling to get their raids going, or that they want to advance to the next level. Most of us are versatile people and we can possibly reroll to achieve a good composition after a merge.
Any social and friendly person who wants to join us for kicks and giggles is welcome. Just poke any of our officers online and you will get an invite for a social spot (no raiding spot).
      ABOUT US:
Gordian Knot is a semi-hardcore raiding guild that consists of experienced raiders with some of them having raiding experience as far back as Vanilla.
We are a friendly group who enjoys World of Warcraft and loves raiding. We have fun and joke around but when bosses need to go down then all is serious! We wish for all our members to enjoy the game as much as we do and we expect raiders to maintain a 80% attendance per month.
We also enjoy a variety of other activities such as running a lot of Mythic+ dungeons doing alt-runs, achievement runs etc.
We generally aim to push Mythic+ to get +15 keys done for the weekly chests. We do this in spirit to help everyone in the guild getting their highest possible gear reward from their weekly cache (socials included).
There are a few things we hold in high value but above else we value friendliness and politeness towards guildies and other players and skillfulness when it comes to the more serious parts of the game.
      CURRENTLY:
We raid 3 nights a week, Wednesdays, Sundays and Mondays, from 20:00 till 23:00 server time.
Although we are a 20-man guild, we usually run an extra group in order to get more people to experience the joys of raiding, help new raiders learn the Knot’s way to down bosses and gearing up. Usually, these runs happen on Thursdays, and also we’re on RBGs killing alliance scums every Friday or Saturday or on other in game activities if not on RBGs!
Our current guild progress is 9/10 in Sanctum of Domination mythic, and we're focusing on getting further progress in Shadowlands. Our aim is to always progress as much as possible but also to have a relaxed and fun atmosphere at the same time!
If you're interested in joining Gordian Knot, please fill in our application form, located at https://gordian-knot.eu/apply/, or join our discord https://discord.gg/FVR8HPB, alternatively please whisper one of our officers:

      About
I'm Caperfin. Got questions? see my Shaman Tank Livestream: www.twitch.tv/caperfin Introduction
Can Shamans tank in WoW? The short and to the point answer is, yes. You might be rubbing your eyes in disbelief of this answer. Perhaps conjuring a ten page manifesto about how only warriors can and should tank. Although, I can go on a long rant about how there are many other classes that can tank, today, I’ll be focusing on our totemic friend, the shaman.

The topic of viable and optimal is contentious as some don’t see the difference or mix them up and levy a misguided philosophy onto it. Optimal is the most efficient and foolproof solution that eliminates as many negative variables as possible and favors an easier path. Viable or often referred to as: possible, seen as the more challenging path but to many is a greater personal triumph. Shaman Tank is labelled as viable.
Many Shaman tanks agree their motivation is from the glory of seizing a feat the rest of the realm dares not try. If this resonates with you, please continue reading. You shaman tank if you want a challenge and a refreshing perspective from a 15 year old game. If it wasn’t obvious before, shield bearing is a sizable undertaking.
When experienced players Shaman tank and put in the effort, it shines tenfold. Shamans can fully tank 5mans, 10mans, off-tank & main-tank raids. But, this is reliant on personal and guild experience. Our overall defensive statistics won’t reach a warrior’s. However, it isn’t necessary to do so, to tank.

Video: Shaman Tank Race Options - Video Explanation
You’ll be staring at your character for a long time. So, consider your character’s appearance as a key factor as it may entice you to play more. All races have benefits but they’re minor compared to other aspects. There is no wrong race. See Video to learn more about race options.

Video: Shaman Tank - Professions - Youtube
Engineering for:  Goblin Sapper Charge,  Masterwork Target Dummy,  Force Reactive Disk, etc... As a secondary profession, go a high gold generating profession on your realm. Gold helps buy potions, ex: Flask of the Titans among other consumables.
Video: Shaman Tank - How to deal threat - World of Warcraft - YouTube
We can increase threat in many ways, notably:  Earth Shock,  Stormstrike,  Rockbiter Weapon &  Lightning Shield. Install a threat tracking addon, ex: ThreatClassic2. Consumable items deal threat, ex:  Major Rejuvenation Potion based on half of the Health & Mana gained. Damage items, ex: Goblin Sapper Charge deals threat equal to the damage so do reflective Buffs, ex:  Thorns. Lastly, certain items ex: Gift of Arthas deal threat each time their Debuff is triggered  (see Threat List).

      Video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiUPOAtrqXY
Allies can reduce their threat, through items, ex:  Fetish of the Sand Reaver. Mage have:  Burning Soul. Shaman:  Tranquil Air Totem. Rogue and Hunter wipe threat with  Vanish &  Feign Death and so can  Flask of Petrification. Items prevent aggro:  Limited Invulnerability Potion & redirect aggro Masterwork Target Dummy (taunts the mob). Classes in the 30-40 yard range won’t get aggro t'ill they surpass the threat level of the mob’s current target by 30%, as opposed to 10% for melee classes. (See More)

Video: Shaman Tank - Totems - Youtube
Totems can't deal threat for you. Common totems:  Grace of Air Totem,  Stoneskin Totem &  Healing Stream Totem. AoE Tanking:  Stoneclaw Totem followed by  Fire Nova Totem. To learn more about totems, watch the Video.

Video: Shaman Tank - Talents - Video Explanation
The talent setup: (16/35/0) has steady threat per second for raids & excels on short fights.
      Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNHiqdqbKUg
PrePull: Cast Lightning Shield. Get all Buffs the group can supply. Cast Rockbiter Weapon. Place: Stoneskin Totem, Grace of Air Totem & Healing Stream Totem. Mark the mobs in front of you by right-clicking their portrait, pick Raid Target Icon, choose from either a Skull = kill first, a red X = kill second, a blue square = Hunter trap and a moon = Polymorph. Pulling: Cast  Lightning Bolt, followed by as many  Lightning Bolt possible to trigger,  Elemental Focus. Lastly,  Earth Shock. Combat: For raids, use  Nat Pagle's Broken Reel to assure the first few Earth Shocks hit. In a fight, use relevant ranks of Earth Shock that suits your mana & threat. Stormstrike can’t be downranked but is also used in similar cases. If  Lightning Shield expires, cast it. If you suddenly might die, equip a defensive weapon, ex:  Spineshatter w/ Enchant Weapon - Agility &  Rockbiter Weapon, use Masterwork Target Dummy (taunts boss), use  Juju Escape, possibly   Major Healthstone & Major Rejuvenation Potion. To learn more, see the Video.
Video: Shaman Tank - Tank Buffs - Youtube
There's a max of 32 Buffs, avoid nearing the max as it may result in Buffs getting mistakenly removed, the addon: Buff Cap Tracker helps. Use Buff Cap Calc to see what Buffs stack. Prioritize getting defensive Buffs, ex:  Elixir of Fortitude before Threat Buffs, ex:  Juju Might. (here's a detailed List of Buffs). Video: Shaman Tank - Best Debuffs
A max of 16 Debuffs can be on a mob. Reaching the max is major in raids. There's defensive Debuffs:  Insect Swarm & threat Debuffs:  Faerie Fire among others. With the raid leader’s consent, suggest ideal Debuffs without overstepping. We can apply Gift of Arthas & Stormstrike. To learn more, see the Video.

Video: Shaman Tank - How to gear!? - Youtube
Solidify defensive stats when gearing, threat is secondary. It’s advised to have 4k HP & 5k Armor unbuffed for Molten Core. Blackwing Lair, ~4800 to 5k HP and 6500-7k Armor. For reliable threat, 3% melee Hit is advised for dungeons. For Raid tanking, 6% Melee Hit. See the BiS Gear Set. You can't equip gear in combat, except for a weapon & shield, enabling the equipping of a defensive weapon, ex: Spineshatter, if survival seems grim. To learn more, see the Video.
      Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hJqx0yCkyig
There are two types of enchants, defensive, ex:  Enchant Gloves - Superior Agility. And offensive, ex:  Enchant Gloves - Threat. See a list of relevant Tank Enchants.
      AoE Tanking
Video: Shaman Tank - How to deal AoE Threat? - Youtube
Many actions can further solidify AoE cases, ex:  Oil of Immolation,  Force Reactive Disk, Thorns, etc... (see a detailed Threat List) It’s crucial to switch and attack another target ever so often. In combat, items & spells giving health or mana deal 50% threat divided by each mob. Items also help until a decent amount of threat is gained on all mobs, ex: Masterwork Target Dummy.

Video: Shaman Tank - Raid Composition
With the raid leader’s consent, offer an ideal raid comp without overstepping. In our group, Warlock:  Blood Pact, Warrior:  Battle Shout, Druid:  Leader of the Pack, Hunter:  Trueshot Aura. For damage dealing classes, we prefer ranged classes over melee. If melee are needed, rogues are best. Groups with high threat dealers can have a Shaman: Tranquil Air Totem.

      Approach to Raiding
We have a relaxed and chilled approach to raiding, but still expect people to make an effort.
As long as you don't show up freshly dinged in levelling greens, and make an effort to improve your gear and skills and show up to raids,
that is all we expect. We are here to enjoy ourselves, not push logs.
      About us
We are a chilled community who enjoys hanging out in discord while playing the game.
Karazhan is on farm, we are now looking to bolster our ranks to create a solid reliable 25 man raid team moving forward.
      What We Offer
A mature environment for levelling and group play
Progressive but relaxed end game experience
A fun, helpful and inclusive atmosphere
      What We Expect
People willing to help build and grow a serious, successful and fun TBC raiding guild. We don’t care about your spec, everyone is welcome. While we are a casual guild, we still expect people to make an effort. Showing up freshly dinged in levelling greens won’t make the raiding experience fun for anyone.
      Our Aims
Our aims are to clear all the raid content in tbc in a relaxed and fun way. We were close to 25 raiders at 70 and ready to start raiding, but a lot of people quit the game and we are in need of new recruits for our 25-man raid teams. Anyone just interested in chilling in discord and to get to know new people are also welcome.

      Raid Times

Sunday 19:00 to 22:00 Realm Time
      Approach to Raiding
Like most people, we have busy lives so we will be adhering to a 2 night raiding schedule for current content, this doesn’t mean alt runs etc will not be scheduled if there is enough demand but they would be purely optional for those who have to spend time doing the constant IRL rep grind with their partners etc.
Despite this relaxed approach we still expect our raiders to come prepared and perform well to ensure we’re clearing content efficiently whilst sill having fun. Previously we have had no issues clearing content on this limited raiding schedule and expect that to continue in TBC classic.
      About us
The Big Lebowski started life as a group of friends who met playing CS 1.6 many moons ago (that shows how old some of us are).
We then evolved into a World of Warcraft Guild back in around 2007 and established ourselves as a solid guild with a good balance of raiding progression with a social relaxed vibe. A lot of our founding members literally grew up with TBC and we all understand the balance between in game and real life commitments (we’d all like to be in game more, right?)
We have always enjoyed being part of a strong community of like minded players and have recently reformed in Classic with the anticipation of TBC where we had some of our best times as a group and online community.
      What We Offer
A mature environment for levelling and group play
Progressive but relaxed end game experience
A fun, helpful and inclusive atmosphere

      What We Expect

Now the rebuild of the guild has been in full swing we have a solid foundation of original and new members ready for TBC, we are currently still welcoming all classes of all levels to join us, however we are still seeking level 60’s to experience some classic raiding as a team before TBC is launched.
