FFXIV - All Highlights of the Tokyo Fan Festival 2024!

New details about Dawntrail revealed! Check out the highlights from Tokyo Fanfest and discover the second new job, new exciting zones, dungeons, the continuation of the epic story, and more!

Square Enix is gearing up for its next big Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Dawntrail, which will introduce a new continent, new jobs, a major graphical overhaul, and much more.

The Fan Festival 2024 in Tokyo featured exciting stage shows, live concerts, and exclusive reveales about the upcoming expansion. Fans from around the world can join festivities online and read up on all the exciting news or watch videos of the previously live streamed keynote from earlier today, which included a lot of different development insight, as well as many other interesting news.

But don't worry, we will cover everything you need to know about the latest announcements and information, here on Icy Veins! 

Starting with a few highlights that were brought up during the opening ceremony:

  • The exact release date for Dawntrail has not been announced yet: Yoshi-P wants to avoid the Endwalker mistake of postponing the launch, so he is waiting until he is sure, but it will be sometime in summer 2024.
  • New Job: PICTOMANCER: This Job is inspired by the Pictomancer Job from FFVI. It is a ranged magic DPS, and we can see Krile in the new Dawntrail trailer as a Pictomancer! This Job will let you attack enemies and buff your party members, while you draw whatever comes to your artistic mind, be it creatures, weapons, or landscapes!
  • New Limited Job: Beastmaster. This limited Job will arrive in the later part of 7.x, and work similarly to Blue Mage. It will also have some sort of collection feature, probably related to collecting different kinds of beasts. 
  • Story of Dawntrail: Embark on the greatest summer vacation a warrior could ever dream of. A brand-new character, Wuclomat, the daughter of the current ruler, has come to seek our help! She also introduces us to a new race!
  • New race: Yoshi-P teased the audience by saying it "looks like a Migo'te", but after a long wait, he revealed the final race to be added: female Hrothgar, sleek and strong!
  • New Continent information: Tural is a huge continent that spans from north to south, and we will explore all of it. Tuliyollal will be the hub of our adventure, and connect the north and south with a massive bridge that we can see in the trailer.
    • New Areas have been displayed through a series of videos and images that have been shared. Two particular areas have caught our attention: 
      • Solution Nine, which has a very intriguing and sudden change of scenery, as it looks very futuristic. It will serve as a hub similar to Tuliyollal. 
      • Heritage Found: a very fascinating zone, blending different cultures and civilizations, featuring a steampunk train and a colorful carousel. 
  • New alliance Raid: FFXI collaboration - titled Echoes of Vana’Diel, coming in 7.1
  • New 8 player Raid: The Arcadion. The story will be a completely original FFXIV creation. Normal mode and Savage mode will be released in succession about a month after 7.0, so that players don’t feel rushed.
  • New Ultimate: based on part of the story of Eden, with Ryne and Gaia. Futures Rewritten (patch 5.4) Ultimate. Scheduled for 7.1

We will go over the biggest highlights in more detail later during the day, as the Fan Festival is still ongoing in Tokyo, and share everything that has been said during the event as soon as possible. It's an exciting time for FFXIV fans, so stay tuned.

      FFXIV - The Primals Live On Stream!

      The Primals will perform Live in Japan, and the concert will also be available as a Paid Streaming Performance! Here is what you need to know!
      The Primals performance, Darkest Before Dawn, will take place on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 0:00 am (PDT) at the Yokohama Arena in Japan. 
      They also decided to make the concert available through paid streaming services StreamPass and FanStream for anyone who would want to watch it online.
      You will be able to buy tickets from Monday, September 9, 2024 at 2:00 am to Monday, October 7, 2024 at 400 a.m. (PDT), on the following website: StreamPass - Purchase Your Ticket Here.

      The ticket price is 4 400 Yen, which is equivalent to 27 euros or 30 dollars. Be aware that a 220 yen system usage fee will also be added separately. 
      To purchase a ticket for the livestream, you will also need to create a free Plus member ID, and make sure that the viewing is available in your region before you buy a ticket.

      If you are not able to watch on the 21, an Archived Video will be available from September 22 to Monday October 7, 2024 at 7:59 (PDT).

      FFXIV: Letter From the Producer Live Part LXXXIII

      Prepare yourself for the next Letter from the Producer Live broadcast during Tokyo Game Show 2024: an early peek at Patch 7.1!!
      Final Fantasy XIV is participating in the Tokyo Game Show 2024.
      The Letter from the producer Live Part LXXXIII will be broadcasted live on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10:50 pm (PDT). Be aware that the time is still subject to change!
      You will be able to watch it on the following platform:
      Official FFXIV Youtube Official FFXIV Twitch  The presentation slides will include both Japanese and English text, however the presentation itself will be held in Japanese only.
      During this PLL, details will be released about patch 7.1 Part 1, as well as some miscellaneous updates.

      FFXIV - Naoki Yoshida Hints at Upcoming 24-Man Savage Raids

      Yoshi-P revealed plans at Gamescom 2024 for more challenging content in FFXIV, including a new raid in the upcoming Dawntrail patch and hints of a 24-Man Savage Raid.
      During Gamescom 2024, PCGames.com interviewed Naoki Yoshida, who revealed that he plans to make combat more difficult. Dawntrail has already experienced big improvements in that regard, with more distinct mechanics and designs, and Yoshi-P hopes to keep that momentum going in the future.
      The upcoming patch of FFXIV will include the Dawntrail Alliance Raid, and Yoshi-P has also mentioned a 24-player Savage Raid! His plan is to continuously create more diverse dungeons and raids, to always challenge players with new mechanics, and to force us to develop new fighting strategies.
      The upcoming alliance raid will have standard difficulty, but Yoshi-P is convinced that groups will wipe at least three times on their first run! The idea was not to make it harder, but rather to give a more engaging experience for raiders.
      Not much was mentioned about the savage version, although he did suggest that the boss will be completely different. So, potentially entirely separate content? It is also possible that the savage alliance raid will be linked to a new instance similar to Bozja, which would explain the boss being different from the actual normal alliance raid.
      Further details about this will be delivered soon, as both the normal Alliance raid and the savage one will release with 7.1! This patch will also welcome the new Ultimate Raid!

      FFXIV - The Rising Seasonal Event Is Returning Once More!

      The Rising Event is a seasonal celebration where you can receive special rewards such as a new Krile Minion and more!
      Flowers bloom over the ocean, breathing the perfume of the past.
      The Seasonal Event The Rising is returning once more from Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 12:00 a.m. to Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at 7:59 a.m. (PDT).
      Your character has to be at least Level 15 to take the quest. To get started, head to Limsa Lominsa Upper Decks and look for the Wandering Minstrel with the quest called "Rising to the Call".

      Follow the instructions and complete the quest to receive the following rewards:
      One Brushed-up Krile Minion One Rising Table Lamp
      Additionally, it is worth noting that some items from previous iterations of the event can also be purchased from the Rising vendor nearby.
