With only 10 days until our summer vacations begin as we set out on a new journey in Dawntrail, today's illustration celebrates the Dark Knights!
Have you ever seen the ones who defend Eorzea while wielding darkness as their ally? The FFXIV art team created an incredible Dark Knight artwork, as seen in today's countdown.
The Dark Knights will defend you even when darkness surrounds you. These enigmatic fighters are wielding a greatsword not for glory but for justice! Drawing upon their own inner darkness to protect not only the people they care about but the world!

If you are willing to face your own demons in order to become Eorzea’s unyielding shield, Dark Knight is a job made for you! You can find more information about it in our guide below:

Monks are known for being experts in hand-to-hand combat. They follow the teachings of the Fist of Rhalgr, becoming powerful martial arts masters and striking fear into the hearts of their enemies!

If you have never played a Monk in FFXIV before, you can get a sneak peek at the Job and all upcoming Dawntrail changes for Monk in our comprehensive guide below:

Dawntrail will be officially released in 12 days, and everyone is getting ready for some well-deserved summer vacation, including the Reapers!
Reapers, Eorzea's scythe-wielding harbingers, will continue to harvest the voidsent energies in order to improve their scythe techniques.
As a class, the Reaper is a call to those who find beauty in darkness and strength in the forbidden, manipulating the thin line between life and death.

The Reaper Job came out with the last expansion, Endwalker, and if you have not tried it yet, definitely check out our in-depth guide about this class, as well as the upcoming Dawntrail updates for this job:

The launch of a new expansion can be quite chaotic, especially with the heavy traffic during early access and the official release of Dawntrail. To that end, we put together a list of important details for you to be aware of!
During both early access and the release, there is a high risk of too many players logging in at the same time, causing worlds to reach their maximum capacity and players to be stuck in endless queues when logging in.
The Final Fantasy XIV team has shared some details regarding possible congestions and other important matters:
Login queues: those happen if the world reaches the maximum numbers of players that can log in at the same time. Once you are in the queue, even if it appears to not go down, rest assured that it is working, and do not log out. Canceling the queue will put you back at the end of the list.
When a queue is in place, players who own the complete version of the game have priority. Free trial characters will be able to log in once the queue is cleared. This allows the FFXIV team to prioritize paying players. Restrictions on Data center travels: Japanese Data Center: The number of non-Home World characters that can log in will be limited. When a World has reached the maximum number of visiting characters, non-Home World characters that are logged out on that World will be unable to log in, and the World will be unavailable for visitation via Data Center Travel. North American Data Center:
Aether/Primal/Crystal: Will be unavailable for travel.
Dynamis: Will remain available for travel, and the maximum number of traveling characters will be increased compared to usual. European Data Center: Chaos/Light: Will be unavailable for travel.
Shadow: Will be open to travel, with temporary Worlds which may be helpful login destinations when other Worlds are experiencing high congestion. Restriction on World visiting: Japanese Data Center: The number of non-Home World characters that can log in will be limited. When a World has reached the maximum number of visiting characters, non-Home World characters that are logged out on that World will be unable to log in, and the World will be unavailable for visitation via the World Visit system. North American Data Center
Aether/Primal/Crystal: The World Visit System will be unavailable.
Dynamis: The World Visit System will remain available, and the maximum number of characters that can visit via the system will be increased. European Data Center
Chaos/Light: The World Visit System will be unavailable.
The World Visit System will remain available on the Shadow Data Center. The maximum number of characters that can visit via the system will be increased. Oceanian Data Center
The World Visit System will remain available as usual. Please keep in mind that if you are on another world prior to patch 7.0, you should return to your home world before the maintenance begins, as any server traffic/queue created by the expansion's release will prevent you from returning to your home world.
Error 2002: this error will occur in order to prevent servers from crashing. If you encounter it, please try to log in again some time later.  Error 90002/90006 During Gameplay: those errors are usually network connection errors. if they occur, check your network connection status. In general those occur for wifi connection, so we advise you use a wired internet connection if you can.  After 30 minutes of inactivity, players will be logged out automatically. If you want to know more about the measures in place for the launch of Dawntrail, you can see the official post here: Regarding Congestion During Dawntrail's Launch
